Dear citizens of eBelgium,


Congratulations Critically! With a new president and a new government, we'll have the freshness of a new input and the advantage of experience.

The Ministry of Finance is now called Ministry of Economy. The tasks and goals of the ministry, in supporting the country president's policy, however stay the same:

- perform accounting of the country's Treasury and keep it safe, working loyally to preserve and expand Belgium's strength.
- effect the payments from the NBB-BNB account as required by the laws voted in forum Congress.
- propose and defend the donation votes from the country account to the NBB-BNB organisation.
- track in-game changes and (forum) law proposals, try to make sense of them and advice citizens.

One recent (?) change we noticed is that there is no forced transit through a neutral country when wanting to move between countries that are at war. For instance, in the current NE/TW, moving from a sovereign to an occupied Belgian original territory can now be done directly for the cost of 20 BEF instead of having to move through a neutral A3-zone country (which required 2 moves of 20 BEF each previously).

The recent rise of the WRM import tax to 15% was not advised positively. However it will not have dramatic consequences in itself and we recommend that next vote will be for lowering it again to 1%. Lower taxes lead to lower market prices, which provide for higher sales, higher consumer purchasing power and a strong currency.

For accurate reporting of payments/donations (should normally be done within 24 hours), don't forget to pm the MoE and eventually the CP when you effect a payment please!
