James S. Brady Press Room
News and Notes
Many of you have been generous with your compliments about the Keating Administration's WHPR. The entire staff of WHPR and Pony Express thanks you for your kindness. We've added Aeroner as DSoM WHPR, and Jon Malcom as DSoM Pony Express.
Speaking of the Pony Express, we are pleased to announce our plan to publish it separately through this same Newspaper. So WHPR's and Pony Express's will each be titled according to their date of publication, both published through the James S. Brady Press Room. Today's WHPR will include the Pony Express.
Also in effort to reduce the page length of the WHPR, formatting adjustments are being made.
The Department of State is still retooling our roster of Ambassadors. If you are learning a foreign language, a job like this will pay off IRL. Find more information here.
The Department of Interior is receiving more requests for support than it is able to accomodate. This means that Newb Players are not leveling up as quickly as they could. Revenues are down, Budgets are being cut, and the need for Bread and Circuses has never been greater. Please consider donating Gold or Currency to DoI using this link: LINK

Survey 1 Results
Multi-Use in eUSA.
106 of you participated in the first WHPR Survey focusing on Multi-use. A "Multi" is defined as an ingame character whose "owner/operator" is the same RL person as another ingame character. Multi-Use is against the eRepublik Terms of Service, yet is definitely reality in our midst.
Using ONLY the survey results (which were intentionally anonymous, therefore potentially corrupt), the Department of Media presents the following interpretation:
The majority of eCitizens do not care if eRepublikans have more than one eCitizen Account. Some of you are bothered by Multi-use but feel that Admin is not interested in enforcing the rules. Many of you actually do have more than one eCitizen Account, although the majority of Multis are owned by a small minority of Multi-farmers, who claim to be using them primarily for Gold collection. There is a significant population who is more motivated to risk Multi-Use since Admin changed the Economic Module by allowing ony 5 employees per company. Only about half of your Multis are members of the same Political Party as the "host" account. Every major Political Party in eUSA has members who operate Multis.
Lastly, a top secret Department of Media staff member was tasked with creating a second eRepublik Citizen account as research. After considerable difficulty creating a false Gmail account, eRepublik denied Citizenship to the staff member's new gmail address, claiming that the fake Gmail account did not adequately qualify for Citizenship in the New World. In other words, it is probably not easy to create Multis.
WHPR Survey 2
Gold Buying habits of eUS Citizens
The second WHPR Survey focuses on the Gold-buying habits of Citizens of the eUSA. Gold is the currency of success in eRepublik. If you are willing to spend enough RL money, you can set yourself up quite comfortably in eRepublik. However, Gold-buying is often stigmatized as a legal unfairness. Sure, you can drop a few hundred semolians on a couple Q5 companies, but does that make you a big asshole? Survey 2 is designed to ascertain your attitudes about Gold-buying, your Gold-buying habits, where you are spending your purchased Gold, and how widespread Gold-buying is in the eUSA.

White House Press Conference Review
Approximately 70 Citizens attended the first Keating Administration Press Conference on Saturday night. By far, Military questions dominated the floor, reflecting everyone's concern over the recovery of our regions, the increase in our production bonuses, and the support of our Allies.
In general, morale is pretty high. We've beaten back the Indonesian Occupation. Spanish-occupied territories are actually protecting us from a multi-front attack and re-wipe. Hungary is our next focus, so prepare for another Resistance War campaign. It's not sexy, but it works.
Critics are quick to point out that an anti-Hungary campaign does nothing to boost our Resource Bonus, and they are right. However the Department of Defense is more correct to assert that a campaign designed to maximize Production bonuses would expose us dangerously to a multi-front war that could result in re-wipe.
The bottom line? Fight where the National Broadcast System directs you. Fight DoD orders. Don't be greedy about Natural Enemy bonuses. If all you care about is your character's rank, you're in the wrong country. It is not the time to ask what your country can do for you, it is the time to answer what you can do for your country. In a month and a half, everything is going to look very different... as long as we work together.

I am waiting for somebody to name their multi-avatar Vidalia Tor.
Good article man.
Fantastic as always! o/
thanks! good job.
I liked it.
LIST MY PAPER!
Also, LINK to the log of the press conference... and there were about 40 people, not 70.
Still crushing it.
I can't believe my troll of George Pumpkinette (and SFP Info) didn't get ponied - http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/1335-gratuity-sfp-news-and-smashing-pumpkins-1823125/1/20
@Pizza, the highest number I saw was 56, but others came and left. 70 is a very accurate estimate. Nobody believes you anyway.
@Jude, I will dock my Riders' pay.
I am very pleased to see my newspaper, Meet the Press, getting featured in WHPR's, and this isn't the first time. I have an interview with Soren Nelson, Federalist Party PP already up, since yesterday. I'll be getting all of the PP's done that got elected, and only Nelson has responded so far. All five of the top eUS party presidents have been mailed.
Well done! Jon Malcom is a hard working guy, good pick.
Damn, this must take a lot of work to put these links together. Nicely done.
How does it feel to be more informed than Admin?
Voted. Very well written. Now back to my hole...
Candor: Don't make me come in there after you!
@Cerb - HARD work.
v+s, because the article was actually interesting. I have a few issues with some of the statements made and conclusions drawn concerning multies, but it is a good article and certainly a step in the right direction.
>"Only about half of your Multis are members of the same Political Party..."
I wouldn't have used "only" there. That is actually pretty substantial, considering the number of multies and the relatively small size of political parties. A follow up study focused specifically on that might be interesting. Are we actually e-living in an e-oligarchy?
>"After considerable difficulty creating a false Gmail account..."
Being fairly new here, I don't want to start off by implying that other folks do not know what they're doing, but are you serious?
>"...it is probably not easy to create Multis."
I believe the veracity of that claim to be questionable at best.
@Phoenix Quinn - eRep at least has the sense to block the Tor network, which is not terribly difficult to do as result of exit nodes being easily identified.
I'm just staying here till Alexis Bonte declares bankruptcy.
Oh, Happy Day!

"...it is probably not easy to create Multis."
I think people like Peffifer would beg to differ. Maybe you should ask him how to set up multi's as the man confessed to having 50 that he uses for vote sniping.
The ONE thing that would make it hard to multi is if they admitted to using same IP's as detection tools (They do but they wont admit to it) and thats easy enough to go around using any variety of methods).
I'm not encouraging anyone to multi but I am countering the statement that its hard.
