Economic recovery has been slow because we haven't been making the necessary reforms to do so. This tax raise is nothing over the top, 10% is the world standard, and appears to work well everywhere else, so why not here? Taxes will give the government money, this money we can then use for hospitals and/or MPPs. It isn't much, but economic reform has to start somewhere.

I understand that, but the government needs consistent annual income for these kinds of things. Taxes are government income, we have to use them for the better. Spread the word around, this legislation must be passed, it's a small but good start.
I agree with you. It's time to raise import tax but it seems a litter bit unacceptable to set VAT to 10%

I screwed that part up, added percentage was only supposed to be 5%, so we'll vote this one down and have somebody else propose another bill.
I have voted no due to VAT. I recently tried to pass a law that had only Import at 10% that was voted down, but I will not accept VAT at 10%.
Vote NO. Change the title of this article to NO or delete it. Don't tell people to vote that up. 10% VAT tax is nuts. The current 5% is more than every other country (even USA and China).

To my observation, 5% VAT is quite enough.
If you want the proposal passed successfully, I think you should give a chance for other congress members to have fully communication and discussion.
