The Constitution Party Arises
Gnilraps
Those who follow the important news stories in eUSA were shocked when, about 20 days ago the Party President of eUSA’s most successful Political Party announced the final chapter of the United States Workers Party.
That article was written by Pfeiffer. who, more than any other citizen, has been responsible for the historical dominance of USWP. The comments section was appropriately filled with sweet notes:
And Pfeiffer. is not the only citizen who gave his heart and soul to the success of USWP. I hereby raise a toast to every Zombie everywhere who contributed in great or small ways to the legendary life of the greatest Political Party in eUSA history.
This is how we drink at USWP…
But as Pfeiffer. mentioned in his article, time has come for a change. More will be written about USWP and its formula for success. I have my thoughts on the matter too. But today is a new day and it is my profound pleasure to announce the launch of a brand new Political initiative in eUSA,
In brief, the Constitution Party will be a political home to anyone who believes that the Constitution is the key to the best possible eUSA experience.
Our Constitution should be kept so that it insures full access to legislative power for all present and future citizens, codifies prudent stewardship of all tax revenue, and safeguards the present and future sovereignty of eUSA among eNations.
Access to legislative power
Stewardship of tax revenue
Sovereignty of eUSA
These three ideals, given the browser-game sandbox created by eRepublik itself, are too precious to entrust to individuals so they must be upheld by constitutional law. If preserved, eUSA will retain whatever “freedom” can be said to exist in a browser game owned and operated by a private company.
We believe that our current Constitution does a very good job of safeguarding these three ideals. Indeed, we all stand on the shoulders of the giants who have come before us.
But where additional code is needed, it should be discussed, proposed, and supported. Where the Constitution needs amending, nothing short will do. In the end, it is the Constitution that safeguards us from stupidity, tyranny, and catastrophe.
As long as eRepublik Labs keeps the lights on, eUSA will succeed by its Constitution.
And we are the Constitution Party.
In the coming weeks and months we envision much conversation about the Constitution and our Party. The Constitutionalist will be my instrument for communicating thoughts and directing these conversations as one of our new Party’s founding members. I look forward to publications from my fellow Constitutionalists as well.
Finally, I hereby announce my candidacy for Party President in what will be the first-ever term as the

DON'T BELIEVE PROVEN LIARS, DOUBLE-FACED CROOKS, NEVER EVER!
💩
I see the US elite is trying its hardest to pull the wool over your eyes!
Don't accept anything more than a 1% Work Tax!
Don't accept anything but an anti-Serbia stance!
>eIreland
Lol
Yikes, I just don't trust you bunch one bit.
Well that would be a bad decision on your part 🙁
However you trust people like RVC, FS, and HWF who do nothing but slander the people that work for the citizens of this country.
P.S. : what is with all these long names in SPF?
I don't trust RVC, just like the articles. FS wrote articles that made me wonder about the transparency of our gov. HWF has been nothing but nice to me. Cool your jets my dude.
Username checks out.
you are consistent, "We the People" having already been used ...
yeah that was me.
o7 - I’m in!
lol
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do going forward.
Best of luck, brother.
Can we know what your personal party plans are for the future?
It's all clear, when this guy calls you brother!
Aw yis
I look forward to hearing more about this
Without a doubt the start of a glorious future. As highest educated philosopher in this game, I fully applaud and support this move.
claiming to be the most chronic user in this game ...
and if truly educated, why are you still here?
Got hired to lecture eUS population on the use of reason.
Or I'm temporarily attempting to escape some papers on Foucault.
Who knows..
before or after Trump got elected ...
eUS, I would never lecture in the RL US unless they offer me Searle, Chomsky or Kripke. Trump is another symptom of the American disease.
Glad eUS has none of those symptoms, more or less.
missed the "e" before US ... your choice of words leaves a lot to be interpreted, with the switching between RL and game ...
may I assume that some of the missing money that Fake News Stone whines about went to you and he obviously missed the lectures?
I still hold approx 35M on this account of which part is indeed reserved for strategic eUSA military purposes. And yeah, I understand, I talk a lot about everything. Franklin would be most welcome to my lectures btw, he's a good dude.
"Fake News Stone"... Hilarious.
So -to make things clear- you hold 35M in American Tax dollars?
Putting more Forum IG is bad.
Other eCountries spending useless time on Constitutionalisation know how counterproductive and boring it is.
But maybe I didn't understand well... I hope : /

For us its great fun and it creates additional dynamics to playing the game that evoke what made V1 so awesome.
Our offsite Congress with its Consitution and Code is THE thing that makes playing eRepublik as a citizen of eUSA so great.
Sure, for you and your bunch of elitist thugs. Because you have control on that forum, you can trash-can whatever you don't like, bash & harass people without consequences & even spy on people by recording their IP, investigate them trying to find RL clues about them
YOU ARE SICK!
Good luck
thanks.
Don't forget, we'll need good leadership into the future...
What's the next step?
How do we sign up?
I think you just did.
More meta less effective government! More convuluded government for a less efficient country! I'm fired up! Woohoo!
Wouldn't it be both efficient and effective to form a set of rules which any player can live by, through a democratic process? Would you say the game is adequate to perfectly (or remotely, even) emulate the ways in which a government works?
If you say yes to the first, and/or no to the second, the Constitution party is in agreement with your views.
YASS
If someone in USWP don't like this new party, remember remember... the AMP is still alive!
So is the Reformed Socialist Party https://www.erepublik.com/en/party/reformed-socialist-party-5420/1. We even have a link 🙂

A constitution works only if it is used as a way to play off a balance of powers. The division of power between executive, legislative, judiciary utilizes a constitution to set the rules in the relationship of the three, it is a guideline not only to balance the power between co-equal branches, but also as a way of GUARANTEEING PROTECTIONS FOR THE MINORITY, which a real constitution, in a real democrac,y sees within time will trade positions with today's majority.
When only one faction runs the entire country, the constitution becomes nothing more than a cudgel to subvert the minority and to serve as a way to entrench the faction in power. This kind of constitution serves to continue the majority faction indefinitely. There is no balance of power, no guarantees for the minority.
This is the problem seen today in eUSA . Take for example the Congressional Budget Office. It is not like its namesake AN INDEPENDENT AGENCY MEANT TO WORK IN A NONPARTISAN WAY but instead populated and controlled by the very ruling faction that created it and runs the country. The fact that it may be 'constitutional' does nothing to guarantee its independence or acceptability to all (minority) factions.
bs. The minority has the same ability as the majority to vote and to even overthrow the constitution you malign. The CBO is staffed by 4 people. one is the very author of this article, another is a long time loyal member of the amp -not even a top five party - and the other two are as far as I can tell not in any political party in game, and as far as I have seen have not been involved in any politics for almost as long as I have been around. You are also welcome to try elect any "minority" citizen as a cbo officer, and the only thing stopping you would be votes... something you have proven this very month is possible for you to overcome with the new lower tax.
In game, and at times, yes we might be able to put together a majority in certain issues.
You notice I do not necessarily limit 'the ruling faction' to a specific party, it is certainly spread over several, including now minority ones you state in so far as the CBO directors (? not sure of the exact title) but without a doubt, when those directors were active, they were associated with the ruling faction at that time, and it still is the current continuing ruling faction.
@jadiv - I concur with shadowber's response and wanted to chime in.
The CBO will always act in accordance with the Constitution. If you've identifies some brand of tyranny in the CBO, it would be a very serious situation. It would be a situation that would merit change. A Constitutionalist would have to agree with you on that.
What I find more interesting is your assertion about protections for the minority. There has always been, in government, a kind of tyranny of the majority, and I am interested in dialogue that isbaaimed at mitigating that tyranny. I fiirmly believe that the ONLY safeguard is a well written Constitution. When the solution is a new majority, tyranny has not been eliminated it's changed faces.
Any constitution that is even moderately successful has guarantees for the minority. Such as super majority requirements particularly for censureship/impeachment, certain types of legislation or spending, in some cases parliamentarian immunity. Constitutions have checks and balances (co-equal branches). They are not simply the screed of a ruling faction.
It is difficult to create independent agencies when you lack the amount of citizens that can be deployed to various positions.
yes we are the eUS and have a bad habit of naming things after our RL counterpart, but choosing the word "constitution" does not imply it has to follow the our US constitution (yes it is acknowledged as the first written one) but there are many such documents in the world; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_national_constitutions. You choose to argue that a constitution in this game has to follow the one you are familiar with and you are wrong.
The idea of the US constitution is pretty awesome, in practice it is rather messy. Honestly, do you even know what goes on in RL, because your statement leaves me with the impression you have no idea of the blight of minorities in the US ... oops the !% just got a tax break, what am I talking about , the most influential minority is doing very well ...
If what you are saying is truly what you believe, we probably mostly agree.
However, what you are saying about carrying RL into eRep is not true. Everything I am saying about the "Constitution" has to do with eRep, specifically eUSA, and any areas of resemblance to the RL Constitution are coincidence. Some resemblance is to be expected. But in no way outht we fashion an eConstitution after a RL one. Our Constitution ought to fit the game itself, not RL.
The way I see it is that there are parallels with RL that are unintentional and expected. There are also some borrowed concepts and nomenclature which has mostly to do with the fact that there is a common language to both. However any time the argument begins with, "this is how it is in RL...", The argument is off on the wrong foot.
Am I addressing your thoughts?
