So What's the Deal with Asgard?
J.Canuck
Was doing a bit of reading in the eNetherlands media and was surprised to hear that Asgard acts more like a "ver-ah exclus-aaave" little club rather than an effective alliance gathering power. Word is they have rejected eNL and several other hopeful e-countries (like eIreland) from joining.

I'm not privileged to what it going on in the back rooms but I'm just left wondering if our stupid alliance is one of the main reasons we're dying a slow death.

Basing our decisions on emotion rather then reason is the most important reasons we are dying a slow death.
ASGARD can die a painful death for all I care. "Allied support" yeah right. And why reject countries who want to join your alliance when you're already weak as water??
Sounds like its an alliance of sell-out suck-ups who don't want to anger powerful enemies by allying with anyone they disapprove of - i.e. Sweden vetoing Polish occupied eNetherlands from membership. Barf, barf, barf, appeasement.
Apparently we were sold a bill of goods. The Nords never wanted to have a growing alliance: we were it. We were told that we'd be an equal voice among peers. We just didn't realise you'd be able to count those peers on one hand and still have some leftover fingers. Ok finger but you get my point. Asgard is a useless alliance and should be disbanded so that we can join a larger alliance together. This world isn't designed for small alliances.
I was never sold on Asgard to begin with. I think it's been a wasted effort. Time to cut our losses and move on.
Although I completely agree, we did just vote on it a few weeks ago and the majority was in favour of sticking it out. That said, I think if things continue the way they have been I have a feeling the no vote will continue to gain in support. Maybe we can schedule a new referendum in for the 10th (or starting on the 5th, when people log on for CP elections, and ending on the 10th).
To be completely honest, although it may not be an option, we need to have all the options on the table, including TWO and company.
We can get a lot of information from a referendum using Survey Monkey if we ask the right question(s).
