Well it wasn't me. I assume you saw my reply comment to your article, thanking you, Rylde, for honoring me by wishing me 'FU', as I know its your biggest compliment. And I can't report anyone for - one of the Admins got pissy with me and apparently disabled this function for some reason, a long time ago. Not that I would report anyone over 'FU' - I couldn't care less, I'm from New York City. 'FU' went out of style here in elementary school.

I hope it wasn't really saltydog - that he was just joking when he said it was. Considering his posts and his relationship with TCO I can't imagine it was, and he knows how to spell Hungary so I have a feeling he didn't take out that ad.

Once we know who it was, however, I will go over every article, every post, every comment they write from now on and Captain Sam them at every possible turn.

Eli, I think we need to tolerate each other for the color we bring to the game as long as it isn't meant to harm. Rylde's language is very colorful, that's the way he is. A lot of us love that about him and respect that he can take it as well as dish it out.

What bothers me in this is the hypocrisy of a player who consistently uses obscenities on irc and forums suddenly going after someone for using a 4-letter word. Had it come from someone who we knew to be offended by swearing, I'd completely understand. This smacks of being a personal attack on a man who is going through a rotten event in his life. So it is the cruelty and hypocrisy that anger me here, not the act.

That said, filing reports on other players is something the mechanics allow. We all have the choice to use it whenever we want. It's a mechanic I dislike seeing abused, however, or used for the fun of being mean.

I am all for people using profanities on the internet. Who hasn't seen profanity on the internets?

Using the internet is the wrong place to be if you get upset by profanity...perhaps one should stay inside, lock the doors and switch off the lights!
As for the typical student attitude about people not going to Uni...well, perhaps that says more about the person who wrote it than the people their on about.

When I look at omfg the letters aren't what I hear, but what they stand for. So Rylde is to be condemned for syntax? Are we truly to be so ruthlessly exacting with each other?

as i said before i curse all the time and have no problem with rylde's language. however the admins did and they've done the same to me. i'll show you a screen shot of a message giving me .5FP for saying the same curse rylde said.

but though i dont have a problem with the language, the admins are free to enforce their rules and i respect their decision. even if we dont agree, the admins did what is within their rights and you shouldn't jump to ryldes defense just because he's your leader

@Scorpius - Yeah, I've been known to say that word myself 😛 and I agree that admin can enforce the rules when they come across it. I got .5 for "pig dog" once; we all have our moments. I just don't like being report happy and would hope people would be sensitive to an article such as one announcing an illness.

We do stand by each other - I love that about The Crimson Order. Everyone should have friends that have their backs. That said, I think that a lot of our reaction to this incident was because of the nature of that article. Sure, we still would have stood up for a member or the Order, but the reaction would have had our usual rough-housing tone rather than anger.
