Let’s Actually Talk about Stuff
Orik is off publishing an article about a comic book or something. idk. Not anything eRep related. Just people.
I get it. That good people make for a good team. But he had good people this month, and look how that worked for him.
Plus, there aren’t a ton of people around anymore. So like, his people will probably look decently similar to my people. Except I’m going to make Vanek come back and talk to me. Orik can’t touch that one.
It’s not the people you surround yourself with. It’s your ability to motivate them, to direct their abilities to the correct area.
Anyways, let’s actually talk about stuff, and not people. Because we’re going to do stuff, not people.
We’ll start with Pacifica.
I’ve gotten a few terrific lessons on our current Foreign Affairs situation. Turns out, we have some really outstanding Foreign Affairs minds not named Wild Owl. We should try using more of them.
By all accounts, Pacifica is strong, and is well situated in the world. We have a good core, and good relationships that allow the United States to remain whole and intact. We’re chill with Asteria and everyone helps each other out. yay.
But like every month (literally every month), there is trouble brewing beneath the surface. A massive upheaval that will shift the line in the sand. Allies will become enemies. Neighbors will become friends. Dogs will hang out with cats. You’ll be fine with getting Pepsi when you really wanted Coke.
I’ve done all this before. So has the country. We’ve gone from EDEN to nothing to Terra to CTRL to nothing to CoT to nothing to Pacifica (feel like I missed a few). We always adapt. I helped create the alliance CTRL. And while it was doomed from the start, it did a lot to shift us away from Croatia, which had been one of our closest allies for years. I was also a major player in getting us into CoT. Laying the groundwork with Cerb, and helping guide Fingerguns and her team through the actual application process.
And really, it’s unlikely to happen in my term. We talk about these things frequently. And we hoard money and put things off all because we think we’re going to get invaded, or lose our friends.
If it happens, it happens. And if it does, we’ll deal with it like we do anything else.
Kemal brought up something interesting on the WTP Forum. Namely, that we’re being super inefficient with how we handle Combat Orders.
I have no idea if this is true or not, but Kemal is usually top notch, so it’s probably right. Any place we can look to be more efficient, we need to study. We don’t have enough money to throw away hundreds of thousands of dollars on a battle needlessly.
The more money we have in the coffers, the quicker Congress can lower taxes.
If that means we toss a bunch of people at NSC, and make them pay closer attention, then we’re going to do that.
(also, I’m secretly hoping that Kemal has cool spreadsheets that can help us get better at this; hopefully with colors).
I didn’t include the USAF in the first draft of this article. I feel like they get piled on a lot, especially during Campaign Season. It’s not particularly fair, because they aren’t like other MUs, and not all of the same principles apply. They have a very specific role. They provide direct support for the Executive’s wars, while also serving as a training tool to send citizens to other MUs.
The Congressmen who expect the USAF to be the #1 MU in the country, while scrutinizing every single thing they do, and refuse to increase their budget, are just trying to score political points. It’s that simple. They don’t care about the MU, and I’d have a hard time believing they care about the country. They want to weaken the MU, and show their supporters that they are tough on spending. It’s bull.
If there are egregious problems, we’ll take a look at them. But we’ll do it with the Commanders and Officers of USAF. Not just politicos trying to solve the problem in a think tank.
Every MU has issues. And every one of them except the USAF gets to deal with those issues in private. USAF does need to be held publicly accountable, because of the funds they receive. But they do not deserve to be dragged into a witch hunt every few months, because certain Congressmen have it out for them.
I’m trying to go for a more laid back approach to the campaign. Dunno if anyone cares (or even noticed). I know that I personally get tired of reading the same campaign article every month. Substitute a few words, and they’re all the same. I’m aiming for more of a stream of consciousness type article. One that talks about stuff, but doesn’t get into the useless political answers.
Shoot me a PM. My inbox has been blowing up since I announced yesterday. Awesome to hear from old players and people I thought were long gone.
Logged on to 16 new messages. There are still people that care.
Let’s have a President that cares too.

I do appreciate the real talk.
Cheers o/
Will you be invading Kanada?
You mean Greelingda?
Of course
Voted~
No clearer indication of a dying game than the same old same old oldsters crawling out to run again time after time... who next?
Hopefully Molly Emma.
Israel Stevens makes me hard as titanium.
Israel, why the smear attack on Orik when he's practically a political outsider compared to you?
I would hardly call the President of the United States a political outsider. And pointing out that he wrote an article of pictures is not a smear attack. It's the truth.
He's a political outsider *compared to you*. And I'm talking about your campaign in general, which seems to be a smear attack on Orik coming from an antiquated player.
Compared to me?
He has been far more involved in the country in the last year than I've been. My power is long gone. My friends and connections are dead. Quite literally, in the sense of the game. I held a position in a cabinet like 2.5 years ago, at the earliest. I was last PotUS nearly 4 years ago. Actual, Real Life years.
Listen, if you want someone that is going to tell you political double talk, you're talking to the wrong person. I'm not going to do it. I don't want to read it from candidates courting my vote, and I won't make other people read the same political drivel in my newspaper.
I believe that I am the better candidate. I will not shy away from that. And I won't hide behind flowery political rhetoric that makes a few people feel better, but leaves everyone else feeling slimy.
worth a vote😁
NEEDS MORE GREELING!!!

I don't care much atm, (though I did read this), but I will show up to vote for a CP who cares.
lol, who cares?

Handling COs more efficiently sounds like a solid plan, I wonder why anyone thought about this before.
"I have no idea if this is true or not, but Kemal is usually top notch, so it’s probably right."
Isn't that just great judgment. How much experience does he have with CO's?
"They provide direct support for the Executive’s wars"
Nothing matters except CO. And USAF damage definitely makes no difference in any important war.
You're out of touch with the game, maybe take some time to get back into it and see how things actually function now, and run later.
>How much experience does he have with CO's?
How much experience do you have in winning a battle with COs?
Considering USA has all its states, I'd say I've won every battle I wanted.
Plus, idk why you mentioned me. I'm not making a personal attack on him, or anyone, just want to see the qualifications of the person being used as an authority here, it has nothing to do with me. I didn't claim to be better or anything.
>I'd say I've won every battle I wanted.
So you started military coups in other states just for shits and gigs?
I'm not making a personal attack either. But your initial comment suggests that Kemal and IS don't have a clue about the usage of COs and their efficiency - as opposed to you.
I do even partially agree with that. Kemal is bomb when it comes to economical stuff, but I'm in all honesty not sure if that's of much use when it comes to COs, because hardly anyone is behaving like a homo oeconomicus. Which makes me doubt that economic theory is of too much use here.
However, my point was that an efficient use of COs also requires that you fulfill an objective that you've set before. That might either be winning a battle or delaying the end of a campaign or something like that. And given that a number of battles in which you had set COs were lost, you didn't achieve these objectives all the time.
Bottom line, while Kemal might be quite or even too careful/sparing with COs in order to use as little money as possible, you may be the exact opposite. So the solution might be somewhere in the middle.
But I didn't even say I'm the solution.
I don't know why you keep bringing this around to me. I'm not even going to bother replying to all that you wrote.
>But I didn't even say I'm the solution.
Nor did anyone else, I merely used you as an example because you've set quite a few COs during the threesome in January.
n0s3y!
lemi!
Well, I didn't even set the CO's in January from USAF, it was NAz and WO mostly, so I think you don't even know what you're talking about. xD
I know what I'm talking about, but I don't know what you are talking about - or, to be more precise, how it is related to what I've said. 0o
I endorsed this article for $25 because I heard Israel Stevens is poor af and needs our charity.
I endorsed it for $5 because I am a hipster and everyone else is purple while I am green with envy.
