[Rainy4CP] When it rains, it pours

And when it rains, it pours.

Fever Let Me Live a Dream
In the American Military Party, rainy sunday's nomination was uncontested. Deepchill did not even receive the two necessary nominations to be considered in a vote. In We The People, they have decided to elect No Candidate over Deepchill. The USWP primary came within a few votes between rainy sunday and Deepchill, only to be given to the EZC favorite there.

This has all been done without rainy sunday posting a single article herself.

What's going on? How is it that a candidate who has not published anything in a year - and who likely won't publish at all - somehow able to sweep one party, force a vote of no confidence in another, and draw out such an amazing amount of support among the nation's few remaining writers that it drowns out the noise of the supposed CP to be?

There's a thirst in this country, and we've felt it. For this last term of Oblige's, there's been talk within the parties of how to get the whale out of office. At this moment, it isn't very har😛 Oblige's support is at an all time low, and his recent bout in the office hasn't left many friends cheering for an eighth go. So, around November or so it was decided by the people who generally decide these things that something needed to be done.

Enter Deepchill.

The darling of Easy Company and a very solid mechanic's player. A good guy, by all rights. The Feds would obviously support him, especially with Trekker tacked on as the Vice President, and with USWP and EZC, that was more than enough to deter Oblige from even running. He knew it would probably be a loss. His magic bag of electoral tricks was at an end.

And so Deepchill's teaser came and then announcement, and then nothing. It was done. That was all the campaigning he needed to do.

The Presidency was in the bag. And everybody lived happily ever after and Deepchill was our Decem-

Except, not quite.

As Paul has said and I have too, there's desperation about this country, this land of ours. In it exists two dreams: the dream of efficient complacency, and the dream of something more. With the great winding down of this game coming forth, we're left with two options: we can accept it, find thrones to sit on that are comfortable, and feel important about it as the sun quietly sets.

Or... we can rage. We can toss out established orders and the quiet bindings we've woven for ourselves, and have some real fun.

This is what rainy represents.

It started as a joke, between me and Rahl. Rahl knows I'm a little rascal, and he knows like I know that rainy should've been POTUS years ago. But she's just that kinda girl; she never wanted it. So, Rahl and I did what we do best: we faked it. We just went ahead with it.

Why did people go along? Because they hope. They hope that with the dying of this game, we can find something fun to do! Something different than the month to month picking of candidates and the quiet surrender to our hopelessness. There exists a great dream, a want of something more, and it now has a face.

If we elect rainy sunday, it will be the greatest thing that has happened in the last year.

And we can do it.

What you have to do is hope. You have to want something more than just the simple solutions that are being provided. You have to get mad. Say this isn't enough. Say that the days blend too well together, and that you want an - an hour - where you engage with this game and remember it.

I want you to want to remember this month.

I want you to believe we can do better.
