{CPF} Evolution
Funky 24
Admittedly, not having a Congress, being wiped and letting your party take part in a poll to determine your Country Presidential nominee (congratulations to the yellow fat man) can restrict a Party President’s activity and updates, especially if he or she starts delegating responsibility to the party’s elite.
Luckily, the Canadian Progressive Front is not the place where inactivity and just going through the motions is tolerated. We demand our leaders to uphold certain ideals and don’t like tucking away our thoughts with an Elite Cabinet or Council, only coming out when we’re 100% we’ll look good saying what needs to be said. So here’s some thoughts of mine before I head into my final stretch as PP of the CPF for the foreseeable future:
Toad22 is a proven loser, inspiring nobody ever.
I’m pretty sure it was a rule to have Liberty CA MU members in your Cabinet for some odd reason, if you were a CP candidate. If eCanada wants to stop running head first into dead ends, some Executive political diversity is a good place to start.
The other parties are in a pitiful state vagueness and muddling. Some of them may require a stick to the sternum to see if they’re still viable.
Asgard has left us broke and broken while we remain a trial member.
The CPF remains committed to improving itself, becoming a tide that will surely lift all boats (and sweep away those that don't evolve with the situtation).
That commitment requires elaboration however, one that I hope to facilitate with a second IRC meeting at #nCPF to take place at 8:00 PM EST, March 8th. In a previous article I outlined how to get there and register a nickname for yourself on Internet Relay Chat.
So CPF members, be there or be inferior.
I am also proud to announce that the CPF now has its own section on the eCanada forums that from here on out will serve as our official forum. Ideally it will increase forum use for CPF members from its... previous moribund levels as it becomes easier to find and simpler to use. In the near future, probably at the last minute of my term, I will add some game tutorials, on military, political, economic and social mechanics and issues.
Bringing it back to in game, klop123 and I are currently collecting 0.5 gold… erm, submissions where by donating to said individuals you will be entered into a

The CPF is a party that welcomes all who care about a responsible, accountable and positive government to our halls. There are many opportunities available for newer players, so please, consider joining us!
Seven Tenets of the Canadian Progressive Front:
1. Uphold the equality of all active Military Units
2. Make the accounting of government funding more open and important
3. Ensure Canada is a reliable and selfless ally
4. To respect, recognize and uphold the supremacy of the mechanics of the game
5. Develop a positive political sphere
6. Bring in Canadians to eRepublik
7. To encourage growth and stability to the eCanadian economy

Well that was harsh, yet seemed an accurate set of observations. Asgard couldn't even save its own members from being wiped, so it is too much to expect they could offer eCanada anything at the moment. People are saying it is good to belong to a fledgling alliance that is in a time of building. Yes, there is certainly a lot of potential for building and eCanada can be there to steer where it goes. Still, there is a point where people realize that dream may come up short. I don't think we're convinved of that yet. Lastly, no comment on our recently revised New Citizen Message?
All members of Asgard are wiped, that is a winning alliance there...
When people voted in the referendum to chose Asgard, we should have realized that it was NOT a powerhouse alliance.
Also, we would have realized that two powerhouse alliances (TWO and CoT) ran against Asgards seeming pro-EDEN stance.
People voted for cool new alliance that sold itself as the under-dog. We did not buy into it because it was going to win us wars. At least, an honest set of leaders would have informed us of that prior to voting.
The only other choice was throwing in with CoT in order to save ourselves and maybe get a little ahead in the game. But, that would have meant selling certain allies short.
eCanada chose one value (being a selfless and loyal ally) over another value (preserving Congress and our production bonuses). In our case, one value excluded the other.
The question now will be, How long will people continue to assert that loyalty to shrinking and weakened set of allies is the better value of the two options. I am okay being on the losing end of things but so long as we are honest to ourselves why we are chosing that fate.
or, we could say that being wiped is fun and having constant RWs is a good way to play the game, even if we produce less and cannot have any immigration. That position does not seem to be an honest way to sell Asgard to eCanada...
If only some one had taken the time to itemize the power of every single country and the alliance the belonged to before we joined...

Our opportunity cost clearly was sacrificing ourselves to remain loyal.
It was never said that Asgard was a powerhouse. We had the option of sticking our nose firmly up the backside of the eUS and simply making up the numbers in the CoTWO power trip or supporting a real alliance that better represents what we stand for. I voted for Asgard and I firmly stand by that decision.
So eCanada valuesits own independence of not being a pawn to CoTWO. eCanada also places this value above being safe in preserving its production bonuses, Congress, and immigration. I can stand by that when it is said honestly and with all the 'ASGARD o7!!!" bs that preceded the referendum.
Yes, I know it was never advertised that Asgard was a powerhouse. It also was not advertised that it was sitting duck, either. I suppose we had no idea of knowing that fate for sure, but now that we do know what has come of it, we need to honestly address what eCanada is signing itself up for when it soon becomes a full member of Asgard. Duping eCanadians with patriotic fervor won't play out well in the long-run.
*without all the o7s before the referendum,
I meant to say.
Anyway, I don't much care if there is a congress or if there are production bonuses.. Doesn't affect my game much. But there are those that pay money and take this stuff seriously enough that have earned the full story of what eCanada is getting itself into.
My memory on this is a little vague, but wasn't there no option to rejoin EDEN? (I checked; there wasn't.) The referendum was merely an attempt to grant democratic legitimacy to a decision which had already been made by the government by framing a question designed to elicit a certain response. I don't think this agenda was hidden, I just don't think there's any point in even referring to those results at all.
I'm not a big fan of those types of referendums, though they are fairly common in RL. That said, my favourite one by far is Iraq's 2002 Presidential "Election". The question was something along the lines of, Do you think our great and glorious leader Saddam Hussein should rule for another 7 seven?" Both the turnout and the votes in favour were said to be 100%. So, yeah, things could be worse I guess.
Note: Asgard has been approached by at least 3 other nations, that I know of, just this month, about joining. We are not considering new applicants right "now".
The goal of Asgard is to form strong, familiar bonds with like minded countries, and the majority of the Alliance feels that this can't be done by accepting every nation that comes our way.
That being sad, Eden is fighting for us quite a bit, with Croatia and Romania numbering high on our list of foreign countries in our wars.
I don't think our alliance has anything to do with us being wiped. When we hit eUK, and we would have because we always do, Spain would have reacted the same.
Got Moose?
Again an awful time for a meeting, 3 in the morning here.
Isn't European time 6 hrs. ahead so it would be 2 a.m. in the morning?
Central European, yes.
I live in Eastern Europe, so no.
hear hear, I must agree
I've passed gas less offensive than this 'article'. All it proves to me is that nCPF is no better, or worse than any other party in the eCan political quiver.
Evolution always passes by those who can't see it.
I happened to noticed that you changed your name, Funky.
I'm I the only one that see a huge hypocrisy to publishing a tenant in the very same article where you clearly do not follow that tenant?
5. Develop a positive political sphere
vs.
"The other parties are in a pitiful state vagueness and muddling" and "Toad22 is a proven loser, inspiring nobody ever."
Given that our political sphere is several political parties, how is slandering those parties creating a "positive political sphere".
Stick to the sternum.
Also, it's "tenet".
Afraid to address the question directly? Don't let a spelling error scare you. I don't bite.
These are only thoughts, though the other parties do eventually have to be constructive instead of sopforic before I can engage with them. Until then, applying pressure while I build the CPF (and by doing so), the other parties will hopefully become less indolent. To build a postive sphere, there has to be a building of some sort.

Thoughts are the little voices in your head that talk to you. What you have write above is words publicized and read by people such as myself from other parties. My impression of your conduct is neither that pressure has been applied nor that you have gained my respect to warrant me valuing your opinion of other parties as indolent or not.
Now as for losing credibility as a leader worth working with, that you definitely are achieving.
I do appreciate you digging out the thesuraus for me though.
Impressions have been all that the other PPs have offered to eCanada and me. What do I care if my credibility with you is weak if there's nothing to do with your mediocre leader?

I don't care much for politics but I do enjoy reading the media.
Tenet 5 is terrible for the media, as it dampens all the drama.
Don't let people tell you to play nice and be quiet. Keep publishing your articles, Funky. They offer me more enjoyment than actual eCan politics.
Coming from the worst PP since, well, Randall I guess... before Randall you've been the worst PP since... erm, Gherk? That's not hurtful... since Klop123 then? Yeah, worst PP since klop123. Oh wait, klop123 is still around, shouldn't say that... someone who doesn't exist... I know, you're the worst CPF PP since Funky Hum24n! 😮
Oh well
How the hell was Auk rest a horrid PP? Your numbers held strong under him and he earned the respect and support of CW.
You pretty much undid the second part with your horrid interpersonal relationship skills and severed that bond.
You are a good player and a good adviser but as a leader you are not top notch. You are too busy trying to force your ways onto other parties where you have zero right to do so. It comes off as insulting and alienates your party.
You may say "Its just me writing this article, etc etc" But you are the Parties leader. In articles you speak for the entire party as their figurehead.
Do not bash Auk. It only shows your malice towards him and hints at a internal fight within your party.
Tough crowd.
Auk was horrible
I was pretty terrible ^__^
Votado... not sure what's going on though.
Stay strong and carry on CPF! o7
