Peace with honor! (sort of)

Special Sunday afternoon 2-Clicker 2-Minute "Morning" Coffee ... and by "morning" here I mean afternoon nap time.
Our president recently posted an article that says we have signed a Peace Treaty. Please read president Emerick's article for details, but the short high level summary is we have been raped and robbed but we get to keep our life.
PS : We lost New York early this morning (I skipped coffee for a 10K jog).
PPS: The battle in Vermont is still raging, guess Russia hasn't heard about the treaty.

Its sad to see experienced players calling the man who saved us from certain defeat a traitor. With this treaty Emerick has effectively keept us on the map and given us a chance to recover some of our losses. The idea of going down guns blazing is an atractive one. Who wouldent like to take part in the biggest battle in eRepublik history (Florida) and be able to say they didnt back down. It would be courageous, honorable but after our fall what then? Half of us would move to Spain or Romania or Greece the other half would stay for RWs. Revolt would be stamped out time after time and eAmerica would only be spoken of as a lond ago defeated ennemy of PEACE. take a look at RL, Hitler went down guns blazing, Napoleon went down guns blazing, Sparta went down guns blazing but where are they now? What influence do they have on the world today? Emerick did the best he could with what he was given and saved eAmerica from becoming another conquered empire. He has given us the hope the chance to rise once again when the time is right. For all of those who disagree with Emerick...you are the real traitor for deserting your president in such a difficult time.
I have not accused Emerick of any folly.
@Ingo Castiho: I hope my special edition didn't sound like I was calling Emerick a traitor! I agree with you completely. Over the past few weeks we have been raped and robbed. That can't be undone. If we keep fighting, we will be dead by next weekend. Let's pull our pants back on, start refilling our wallets and plan our comeback.

Napoleon and Sparta are remembered for their bravery, valor, and honor. Something you know nothing about. We will be remembered as cowards who let others die for us while we waive the white flag. I'm outta here! I remember Sparta fighting the Persians, I remember France fighting the Nazis. Do you want to know what I remember about those two folks?
Hey Rob B, I wasn't a great history student lolz, but learned that Napolean was a thug who finished his life in prison and Sparta was a brave fool who got hundreds killed. At least he thought he was buying time for his allies to come. And I remember the French getting totally wiped out and being saved by the good ole USA.

Sorry, guess I should have spelled it out. I remember Napoleon for fighting bravely, and the French for surrendering to the Nazis, Guess you wouldn't remember it, but their allies did, and so did their people. Remember what happen to the Vichy when France was taken back?
The French surrender analogy doesn't work. They surrendered sovereign control over the ENTIRE country. eUSA will keeps our independence, although at a high price. But don't forget - THE PRICE HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID! The treaty stops the bleeding. Sure, I would die to save my kids or my country, but only fools want to fight till the death when there is nothing to be gained by dying.
The treaty sucks, but it's the best option we have, no question. Emerick made a very difficult choice, and that's what we expect of our leaders. Now we can start to build back our economy (which is a mess) and defend our allies (including our last remaining high iron region in Central Greece).
People who shout TRAITOR! need to step back and think through their argument. If we fight to the death and lose, what are we left with? Nothing. If we fight to the death and manage to keep one or two regions, what are we left with? Virtually nothing...our economy cannot survive with one region, and it would be only a matter of time before those regions fell to PEACE tanks.
Yes, the price has already been paid. you talk of re-building, but we are slaves to peace for a long time. How long will it take to get the 5-10K gold? = Months. How long would it take to free eAmerica the hard way?= months. The difference is we keep our respect, our dignity, and the world would respect us for it. Now we are fools. Don't look yourself in the mirror until you move and fight for freedom, you may break down.
You can take our lives, but you can't take our freedom! We just gave up both. Death to Vichy eAmerica! I can respect PEACE, I will fight them till they are destroyed, but I can respect them.

Unless someone can prove that Emerick, his party, his company, or any other organization linked to him has benefited from this agreement at the detriment of eAmerica, he is not a traitor. He is merely protecting his "government" and "its sovereign"...us. I challenge you to tell me why we should call his allegiance into question.

There is no honor in a treaty with PEACE...
