I'm disgusted by the special and righteous who think they have the right to hand out such on unrealistic and unjust sentence. Compared to every other case I've seen in eCanada, this sentence is heinous; it reeks of personal agendas.

There is a way to apppeal, and from what I understand, Acacia has initiated the process (though I have not asked for this and I don't know what step is next).

This is ridiculous. Fail courts fail.

I'm assuming the punishment is based on how much was stolen to begin with, not how much was still missing. If rob a bank and give someone all but 900 bucks, then they go and turn it in I don't get charged with theft under a thousand, I get hit for stealing the whole amount.

I'm not staying it's right, I'm just saying how it is.

I understand the government needed to do something but a $4000 fine and a cross the board ban from all IRC, forums, and public offices is absolutely ridiculous especially considering the amount of money lost by Tem's actions was not even close to this amount. I seriously think the justices need to reconsider this.

I'm not sure why the government feels the need to set the fine as high as it has. A repayment of the monies owed along with the 'lifetime ban from cabinet' seems to be punishment enough.

The last place a 4,000CAD fine should go is to the government. 666 of it, maybe but the rest should either stay with tem, go to TCO or to a charity if you're intent on paying it.
