Forward...
eIndia has left EDEN. Some are sad, some are happy. It is a controversial issue.
On finger pointing UAgg's support of EDEN...
It is abundantly obvious that UAgg supports EDEN, this was declared when we took eIndian citizenship. We also accepted "India first, EDEN second" when we applied for citizenship. We were transparent about our beliefs and were loyal to them in the face of the current controversy.
I ask the finger pointers to consider that just because EDEN isn't the most popular choice amongst the citizens who participated in the referendum does not mean that EDEN is not the best choice for India.
Personally, I accept the outcomes of recent days and will live by them. I will remember them, and how people acted, and this will affect how I behave in the future. India, just like any other community, has some genuine and tremendous people along with some fairweather friends whose support comes and goes as the wind blows.
On moving forward after declaring neutrality...
As a neutral nation eIndia is vulnerable and independent. How eIndia leverages its independence to address it's vulnerability is critical.
I am highly interested in how CP Uv Ajed and MoFA Alector navigate this ship through these turbulent and treacherous waters.
As an eIndian, I support Uv and Alector's efforts to find safe passage.
On fear mongering and dividing the nation...
Blaming people for dividing the nation and accusing them of fear mongering is in poor taste and certainly is not in the spirit of "love".
I use "love" because that is the overriding characteristic that Indians use to describe their culture and the Indians I respect the most actually live it in this game.
People have different opinions and no person is infallible and capable of making the "right" decision every time.
EDEN is not evil.
I accept that I may be mistaken in my belief that EDEN is good for eIndia.
Conducting a referendum on the fate of a nation is a divisive issue, blaming one group for dividing the nation because they are standing up for what they believe in compounds the divisiveness.
Basically what I am learning from the author of this article is that I am only welcome in eIndia if I agree with their opinion. Sorry, that is not how democracy works. That is not how love works either.
I am Indian and I will find a way to love Wild Quark.
Denouement
It has been a highly controversial past three days in eIndia. I hope that I am wrong about my concerns and that our leaders enlighten me with their guidance.
Who's your daddy?

Voted, interesting times ahead for eIndia.
Here here!!
Well said. How is speaking to truth and strategy now "fear mongering"? We are expressing our opinions just as every other eIndian has the right to do......

well said Addy o/
Referendum's normally allow for an open & especially, an honest opinion to be freely expressed & debated if necessary, in order to determine policy. Anything less than that is a directive, not open & certainly not always honest.
Unfortunately, I think expats have all had ample experiences with the latter. It's a difficult road to travel at times & I sincerely hope that my fellow expat Canadians, find sure footing on their chosen path.
Good luck all! o7
"Referendum's normally allow for an open & especially, an honest opinion to be freely expressed & debated if necessary, in order to determine policy."
Agreed. That is why I am disappointed about being labelled a "fear mongerer" and "nation divider" for expressing my opinion.
We need to keep the dialogue going, that's what I plan on doing.
Very well said. Division is the last thing we need, especially in this situation. You and I might have differing opinions on an issue, but that should be cherished and not used as a basis for accusations and suchlike. We are all eIndians in the end!
Evaluating alliances is a next step: who offers greatest benefit at least cost. BUT, this is not the time to ignore MPPs. When an alliance is chosen it will be doubly important to maintain an MPP stack. Alliances without complimentary MPPs are weak tea.
"Basically what I am learning from the author of this article is that I am only welcome in eIndia if I agree with their opinion."
Wrong - that is the problem - you just do not understand ....
Some of you UAgg members have so much hardsell about EDEN, it gets nauseating. You guys sound like those incessant salespersons who just wont stop!!!
Stop the hardsell and try and actually "integrate" for a while. Try not to be high and mighty riding on your "damagehorses" ... be humble and enjoy chatting up with Indians rather than trying to prove repeatedly how wise the MU is.
Thats one surefire way to turn off even those people who may have been unconvinced at first.
The way you guys have literally bullied your way into politics is frankly quite alarming and makes one question the motives.
Trust is won by actions over time but you seem to be in a darned hurry and that for sure is very suspicious.
To close out my point - had you been patient and waited to get your run at Congress, (like so many other expats previously have) then you would have won the trust of all Indians. People would have been more agreeable to suggestions.
You are one among a long list of non Indians who have peacefully and happily co-existed in India, and who Indians have trusted and have been paid back in kind. If you would like a list, here is a partial list of names that just came to my head -
David Forde - UK - regarded as the father of eIndia - multiple times Indian CP, founder of AHF
Ugo Rafaelle - Italy - two time Indian CP
Musketeer - Iran
Vladimir Alexei - Serbia (Montenegro actually)
Hamturk - Scottish - previously Indian CP
Mimihitam - Indonesia
Alector - British Asian - multiple times CP
DeAvenger (dead) - Australian
DonMogul - Australian - twice close to being CP, first NPF sardar
Pheenic - American - thrice close to being CP, multiple MoFA
terlika - Bulgarian
Mali Mrnjo - French
Jelen Od Potoka - Croat - former Indian CP
Maniu - Romania - highly respected senior Indian player - Romanian CP and a big brother to so many of us.
Gendun Choephel (dead) - German - a good friend of mine and leader of DPI
BroodRoosterNL - Dutch - also a former Indian CP
Curtis400 - Irish - longtime awesome dude : )
jelly9473 - American - two time Indian CP
and the list goes on...
Obviously there is something they had to take them to the numero uno post of India and to guide all of us ...
try and understand my point - having shiny medals on your breast does not automatically make anyone a great person.
😁😁
" I accept that I may be mistaken in my belief that EDEN is good for eIndia. "
That doesn't sound to me like much of a hardsell. 😉 In fact I haven't read much hardsell at all. ( insert friendly smiley)
@ Oliver - you havent read the PMs that happen in the background. Trust me, there is a reason people are finding it hard to swallow and things could have been done in a much better way.
That is the beauty of this game - X sides to every story and the only clarity most observers have is what appears in the media...many a times that is only part of the story.
Im not really criticising - just trying to make it clear where the general hostility has stemmed from. And I would think the same would be true in any other nation (look at the American knee jerk reactions if any "unauthorised" citizen gest to run for Congress)
😁
Yes I suspected there were frank and perhaps intemperate exchanges. Now we hold hands and move forward as best we can. Demonizing Eden, an MU or individuals isn't useful and I sense you share that view. So: we have two MPPs, neutrality of sorts, a weak economy and lots of potential. LOTS of potential. Each has his strengths, to be cultivated if the community is to prosper. Mine are playing with words, running my little business and making the odd contribution. Let me know if I can help.
Well said Addy!!

My take on the situation
"The way you guys have literally bullied your way into politics is frankly quite alarming and makes one question the motives."
Ummm WHAT??
Bullied our way into politics? By participating in conversation and staying out of elections for 2 months??
I think someone should check their bias and prejudiced attitude at the door........
I thought India was accepting and open, not elitist and closed off...... were we wrong to try and integrate here?
we wont go into how your leader says India never did anything to BE in an alliance.
good one.
