eAus: is there a need for ANY law?

Ranger Bob
Well, I have been following the happenings of Senate/Congress the last month, and the (lacking) communications from our executive government.
I watch with interest that there has been no final movement on revising a constitution (but albiet some discussions facilitated by David C, and some updates on what he has been doing) - also that the current rules implemented by Senate, such as budget reports, have not been followed.
I pose the question now - DOES EAUS REQUIRE ANY RULES OR LAW?
Clearly, the one's they have are not universally followed. It seems at whim whether a rule is employed or not - so, what is the point of having any at all?
At this point, why not just remove ALL the Acts, the Constitution and any other relevant protocols and just let it go? If they are not going to be followed anyway, and people do what they will then just use the mechanics, no one bother questioning the CP or any budgetary actions they take and let it go?
Politics in eAus is increasingly becoming pointless. As evidenced by the less than 300 people that voted last election, when at the beginning of the year 600 votes was more the norm.
This is not a flame article, nor an article promoting anarchy. But I fail to see the point of any rules if they no longer apply. So just do what you want and represent the people in game.
The few who remain.

I'm kinda at the point of just not caring at all anymore. Why bother trying to change or improve laws that are just universally ignored by members of the govt.
Exactly ranger.
But don't diss Anarchy until you've given it a try *wink*
eNZ doesn't have any laws, and our system works great. No stupid roleplaying here.
RB has a point. Some of the very people who have worked to build up the current "legal" structure of eAus are now complicit in ignoring the very same laws they helped create. Additionally, some of them have been leading antagonists in bringing down anyone who violated those laws.
Most of the Senate activity is not involved in game, but fighting with each other over how things should be done. This is done to maneuver the control of political power.
It can be argued that the senate should have some general rules of conduct to prevent inappropriate behaviour then spend their time on working on improving the game experience for eAus players.
I opted out, I just don't post in the forums anymore because of all the ridiculous *&^%s in there. I don't have time for all the pointless &^%$ going on in there. I prefer to work for the government in game because 98% of everything in the forum is total %$#@. The forum is meant to be for fostering cooperation between Congress and CP. We should have the budget and that's it imo.
Well infin, we don't even have that.
Well get a Speaker who knows the laws, and run an impeachment if you dare.
The ANP 2 clickers would never impeach a ANP CP.
You mean only a minority of people support the laws then? Heresy!
I'm kinda at the point of just not caring at all anymore. x2
I'm kinda at the point of just not caring at all anymore. x3
I'm BEYOND the point of caring anymore.
sorry - wasn't the intent of the article either.

"I'm BEYOND the point of caring anymore."
BS,you will never stop caring. You will always try to involve yourself in EVERYTHING.
I care.
Ranger Jane? 🙂
My girlfriend following a separation?

Well its no surprise that the system of law broke down after the introduction of a flawed constitution. Of course government can work without any laws or rules. But that doesnt mean its the best way to operate - just have to look east for an example.
If our current batch of senators are not up to the task, maybe they should stop running and let some others in that can do better.
I agree with stripping all the laws. It should be obvious by now that they serve to divide the country, and nothing else. Plus, they are mostly laws that cannot be enforced - what's the point of a law that has no consequence when broken?
Communists want communism in several generations, through the gradual shaping and destruction of our materialistic values.
Anarchists want Communism NOW, or yesterday.
