Thoughts as the Fire Burns Down
Azazel Romanov
I felt it was appropriate to write some sort of article during the mess everyone should be presently aware of. We lost the defensive dictatorship due to a Bear Calvary backed revolution that was sponsored and funded by many prominent members of the SFP. These included congressmen, cabinet officials, and party leaders. As such, Congress responded with a blacklist thread that is currently being voted on as I write directed towards those who fought in the civil war battle. Several of Gnilrap’s cabinet also stepped down following their direct involvement with the revolution, and I am interested to see if any of them write about their thoughts on the matter. This was a move I supported since I felt it continued to distract from other issues and it removed many sources of division from the national cabinet that was not needed right now. I also believe if individuals want to be involved directly in a meta-cabinet, they should hold respect for meta-rules. People often forget that many offices at the national level still have no in-game equivalent.
In public and in private I encouraged Gnilraps and SFP members to not start a revolution and to stay out of the fight, mainly due to the reaction I predicted which is now occurring, and to focus on other pressing matters such as our conflict with Chile in Indonesia (which many of you can see is booming with activity). I also did not feel that enough evidence was brought forward in the congressional debate to support a revolution, nor did I feel that it was worth breaking laws to topple the dictatorship. This is something I was personally disappointed to see from several members of the SFP. In finally achieving one of their main goals for a limited amount of time, SFP has set themselves back immensely, not just in the eyes of the rest of the community, but also in limiting future involvement many of their more prominent members currently held. I know that many held contempt for the meta-game aspect, the point remains that access and involvement in the meta-game is the best way to create change. Despite the debate’s political orientation, we still saw support for Gnilrap’s proposal, which could have evolved over time towards a majority in congress.
However, with the revolution over, we may now never know what could have been. Gnilrap’s term could have been a new window for SFP to get involved and show their support for the country at the national level. They traded a long-term solution for short-term gain. Instead of opportunity we see continuing chaos as the crisis winds down towards a conclusion. Although it may seem impossible right now, we may see many of those involved in the recent revolution return to the table and begin once again as a part of the community at large. Everyone may present their thoughts if they wish, and I may provide another update in the future.
I mainly wanted to write to share some of my thoughts on the matter. I’ve mostly been laying low since this whole incident started since I wanted to continue focusing on my job as Secretary of State rather than distract myself. I know that attention is still high on this issue, but I urge everyone to continue supporting the national benefit on the battlefield even if we are currently divided at home. Hopefully as time goes on things will settle down in one way or the other and we will finally have a full resolution to the questions at hand.

In other news, I still need to watch the Psycho-Pass movie.

Save it for your mama.
Naz is basically the best.
I like you.
The Blacklisting of 24 citizens is permanent and apparently nonnegotiable, so once again the 'Meta Lords' have driven away those who opposed them; sadly many of those who now sit in judgement have broken the Law of the Land with no punishment -apparently their hypocrisy knows no bounds.
Anything Congress does can be overturned. Don't be dumb, nor dramatic.
I feel like you know shit is going down if Israel Stevens is commenting.
I seldom agree with IS but he is exactly correct here. Give it a month or two and is you want to play the meta game request the blacklisting be overturned.
It is of no concern. They are irrelevant, and that realization has made them upset- so they blacklist us from their game. Oh well, we have our own here 😛
I can't help but keep mentioning that if "They are irrelevant..." why do you worry so about what "they" do? Play your own game and forget it.
demand that players come to the meta game and have a voice in changing what they say needs change.
blacklist those same players from the meta game for working within the game itself to push that change--
which was the stated campaign wish of the game elected President, whose support base was those players and that promise.
insist that role playing is the way to play.
call players who don't play meta retards--
thus discouraging player involvement, meta or otherwise.
this system is broken. it needs review and fixing or shitcanning.

Demanding that players join the meta game came before blacklisting, lol.
This indeed!

"In public and in private I encouraged Gnilraps and SFP members to not start a revolution"
good to know you confirm that it was gnil's plan from the start.
Actually, not what I said. I encouraged Gnil to not attempt following through with his campaign promise. Following this, Gnil stated he would not follow through with funding, supporting, or participating in a revolution due to the advisement of others.
After the revolution started, I encouraged some SFP members to not fight in the revolution to avoid being blacklisted.
now you've confirmed he lied to the whole nation. gnil's promises are wothless it seems
Blacklisted. I don't understand how in one breath people can say "ZOMG the game is dying we need more people" and "we blacklisted a shit ton of people because they didn't follow fake laws outside of the game."
Truly retarded.
