The Survival Guide for New Players / De Survivalgids voor Nieuwe Spelers

Day 2,194, 08:01 Published in Netherlands Poland by GEN. DE LA REY

You may have come across many guides that advocate training over fighting. This is not one of them, this is the alternative guide.

Although I do not dispute the fact that training is very important, and that gaining XP points make you weaker, I do however believe the most important thing for new players is to have fun and make friends. It’s also important for new players to understand the basics of the game as early as possible.
I believe many players die from boredom whilst over training in an effort to become the strongest player in the division in 6 months time. Players however normally do not die whilst fighting for their country or for battle hero medals. (Well as long as you don’t have a heart attack out of excitement.)

The future of the Netherlands lies with new players as the game is primarily a numbers game, hence you will find most older players will be more than willing to assist you, so do not be afraid to ask.

Here are my tips:
1) When starting buy Q7 weapons and do not be afraid to fight and do the missions until you reach level 20 or 21, at which stage you should concentrate on upgrading your free training facility and slow down with the fighting. Always focus more on fighting for your country if possible as you gain 5 gold for true patriot medals doing so.

2) Try doing the Plato/Chicken mission after you reach 150 strength, as you will then be able to use bazookas against the boss (after defeating ever 24 opponents). Do not waste your bazookas, use them for the main boss being Plato the Chicken or their their friend. When hitting the main character with the bazooka you will restrict your XP gain, and also do a lot of damage which could potentially help you win a battle hero or true patriot medals.

3) Only use the free training facility, do not use gold to buy strength from the other training facilities.

4) Buy a weapons factory when requested to do so, but sell/dissolve it ASAP. It’s not profitable for new players to manufacture raw materials, food or weapons, and you gain XP points every time you do so making you weaker. Rather sell the facilities you can and use the proceeds on upgrading training facilities. Buy your food from the market.

5) Buy a newspaper for 2 gold, and publish something ASAP. Either announce who you are and where you from, or post a joke or something interesting. This is a good way to make friends and get to know the community, as people are able to post comments and vote for your article. This is essentially the element of the game that makes it different to others. You are able to read articles posted in the Netherlands as well as the rest of the world without moving , on the home screen merely click on the “more news” field, and then select the country’s flag.

6) Find out if there is space in the government commune and apply for a job there if space is available. This could double your daily income.

7) Join an MU and don’t be afraid to ask for weapon or food supplies.

😎 Join the E-Netherland forum @ http://enetherlands.nl/. Apart from its entertainment value, there is also a monetary bonus for doing so.

9) Don’t forget to train and work every day and to collect your strength bonus for doing so.

10) As soon as you have upgraded your training facility once, it may be a good idea to buy a rocket factory to enable you to participate in battles without gaining a lot of XP. It’s at this stage of the game where many players die, as there is a long wait to have enough gold for the next upgrade.
Yes rockets cost about 80 NL, but they do 50 000 damage, and if you are able to launch three in the same battle you can together with some strategic use of bazookas win some BH medals. If used for your country the damage caused can also quickly get you some gold from true patriot medals.

11) When targeting a battle hero medal, I can recommend two approaches, either do enough damage early to scare off some BH hunters, or wait and see how much damage has been done, and make a decision very late to go for it. It is always better to go for a BH medal when fighting for your country, as even if you fail, you are able to do damage which contributes to true patriot medals. Always look who is doing damage at the view battle statistics at the bottom right of the screen. Click on each player to see how strong they are and how many BH medals they have won. If any of the players XP divided by strength is below 3 it’s is generally not a good idea to go for the BH medal. If the player has above 10 BH medals it’s also generally not a good idea to go for the BH medal. Also look if your competition has reached 150 strength yet to enable the use of bazookas. Generally speaking D1 players only have access to 5 small bombs, so if your opponent has only used two then you know there are three more coming. Look to win the medal by doing between 200 000 and 300 000 damage. Also look to fight for smaller countries in less important battles where the medals can sometimes be obtained cheaply. Fighting when Europe is sleeping can also enable you to get some cheap medals.

12) Do not create another account, as you will get banned and die an ugly death. They may not find you on day one or day 14 but they will and then you will die. This is the most important bit of advice I can give to new players.

13) If after a couple of days you decide this game is not for you, and you are able to, please donate all you assets to an MU or a NL citizen before you leave. The NL community needs everything it can get hold of.

14) Generally speaking do not buy gold using real money (unless you are a billionaire of course). If you really like the game and want to advance a bit, wait for the weapon pack gold combo special as you get more value for money.
