Taxation not crippling our economy, Daniel Murchadh incorrect.

Brian Boru
Contrary to what Daniel Murchadh is telling you, taxation is not crippling our economy.
To make his point, Daniel quotes the inflation figures provided by eRepublik on the Economic Stats page for Ireland. Anyone with any sort of experience in eRepublik knows that those figures are bugged, and so, VASTLY incorrect.
And yet, we see many people jumping on his bandwagon and commenting on his article for political gain.
I ask Daniel Murchadh to withdraw his article, because it is clear that he has made a massive mistake.
That said, I have said once before that our tax system will be up for review after the Dáil elections, and I am currently leaning towards another income tax cut anyway.
Comments
I will not withdraw my article. You haven't sent a ticket to the administration about this Bug? or inaccuracy in the algorithm?
Daniel, the problem is as old as eRepublik itself.
It's a coding problem they're not arsed fixing.
You just made this article to save face in you and your buddies socialist idolatry..
Daniel, It's a serious coding problem. And Ireland has always been socialist, and walways will be, deal with it.
Oh for gods sake, it's a well known fact Inflation on erep is completely out. It fluctuates daily! I know that you didn't know this, but the least you could do would be admit you were wrong??
"You just made this article to save face in you and your buddies socialist idolatry.."
No, I made this article to show that you are plainly wrong.
From the Erep wiki:
"I = ((APC1 ÷ APC2) - 1) × 100
* APC1: the average production cost during the last 7 days
* APC2: the average production cost in the period between 8 and 14 days ago"
Admins use the wrong formula. This formula makes no sense, because we do not pay the average production cost. It includes all the goods on the market place, so if theres a hospital for sale at 100,000 IEP today and a week ago it only was on there at 1 IEP, the game will show an astronomical rise in inflation, yet it would not have affected the average Joe.
I'll admit that I do not know code. But if you understand that it is a coding problem could you, please Minister, tell the incoders so they don't continue coding irrelevant code? 🙂
Boated.
Brian and Malta and all the rest are correct, the inflation rate is rubbish.
Whenever you take eRep into account, all RL economics rules are out the window.
And respect your socialist elders.
Left is Best!@!@!@
malta, does that happen often? I mean pricing like that? If so I'll put a ticket in about the stupid decission people do.
You cant ticket people for that. >_>
You wanted a free market.
It isn't about the code. Its about the formula. Admins picked an incorrect formula. Brian isn't responsible for the mistake.
"malta, does that happen often? I mean pricing like that? If so I'll put a ticket in about the stupid decission people do."
Wut? You can't do that. You hypocrite. You first diss socialism and then agree with it? Pick a side.
Also, people can't be banned or ticketed for stupid decisions. If that were true, the whole of the EDEN/USA high command would be banned.
"Also, people can't be banned or ticketed for stupid decisions. If that were true, the whole of the EDEN/USA high command would be banned."
Also...
Add to that, the whole of Spain would be banned for giving PEACE 16,000 gold.
Who would set a price for a defense unit at 1 IEP, then later that week set it to 100,000 IEP? A state company. Throw out all of the rubbish all together. If you want me to insult Socialism, I don't have too, it spits in everyones face when they buy a damn cigar.
"If you want me to insult Socialism, I don't have too, it spits in everyones face when they buy a damn cigar."
Take that Red Scare nonsense back to the RL US, Ireland is located in Europe. Furthermore, this is eRepublik, our economics are not the same.
lol...
How much I wanna....
"How much I wanna...."
Do.
"Who would set a price for a defense unit at 1 IEP, then later that week set it to 100,000 IEP? A state company."
Erm, wrong. I run a Hospital company and some countries prefer to pay in gold beforehand, and then purchase for a nominal fee of 1 currency unit, while others purchase them from the marketplace at normal pricing.
Lads, can we drop the "country talk" please?
Malta, come on Sir, remember BB likes us to be "Non-Aligned" here?
(Jeez we already let AlterV in here every day to educate us, and he's sticking to the rules.)
*rollseyes*
For those whom know nothing of economics - \0/
This is an interesting and normally behind-doors discussion.
For those of us who are RL techies, \0/, it's also interesting.
Can we stick to the numbers please, Gentlemen?
Stay on topic for the audience?
You could always go for a pint and a brawl when ye're done?
I hate the fact that Americans like you diss socialism when you know NOTHING about it.
You can tell me you read the manifesto, you can tell me you know everything about socialism, but that dosen't matter, i'll still know you know nothing about socialism. Because since a child you were brainwashed and preconditioned by the american education system to reject socialism and believe that capitalism is the only method.
You people make me sick.
Can we stick to the numbers please, Gentlemen?
Stay on topic for the audience?
Grainne, what gives you the right to dictate the subject? >.>
"If you want me to insult Socialism, I don't have too, it spits in everyones face when they buy a damn cigar."
Socialism herre basically means looking after new citizens so they aren't exploited by the private sector. In ireland we have a mixed market not a centrally controlled one.
You could always go for a pint and a brawl when ye're done?
TL😃R
Inflation system dosent work.
"You could always go for a pint and a brawl when ye're done?"
Dammit, I guess they took my advice..Gah.
*Goes off to look for a full british breakfast*
Daniel is a n00b-jockey.
Daniel, you're probably the worst anti-socialist fearmonger I've seen in quite some time, and trust me, I've seen quite a few.
Ah lads there's no need to get personal.... go easy. It's a mistake I myself made at the start... trusting that erepublik stats for inflation would be accurate.
The anti-socialism stuff is part of his background and culture. I'm sure he'd be an interesting guy to have an argument with on what RL socialism actually is, although I'm sure I'd disagree with him🙂
Manni- We make me sick too.
@Daniel.
Shake it up baby, shake it up.
(Wish you'd joined this game sooner..sigh)
We ain't talking about politics here.
This is a numbers game.
Wake up people.

Wormhole to Daniel's article.
Come on in people.
The water is lovely..
*dives though to the blue*
Grainne why post a link to Daniels article which is wholly inaccurate and its basis is completely flawed! No need to compound his mistake by driving the situation along further....
He doesn't see it as a mistake, SP. Neither do I.
He is asking questions.
He'll either get answers, or an education.
Or a rude response, but eGod help him he's still at it.
.
I've some of the same questions.
You know yourself I'm a RL tech.
This all seems like nonsense to me too.
RL-GAME-MECHANICS-NUMBERS nonsense.
A numbers game.
Not political roleplay ingame dog-fighting.
.
At best? Game-code rubbish we choose to live with, workaround and ignore. Rather than unite and petition the overlords for a fix. We're paying customers. Regular subscribers. We've a right.
.
At worst? Another way of keeping noobs out of the equation that rules eIreland, and allows ignorance to fester throughout the land.
eeeeek. Lets hope its not that one?
.
*Swimming, down deep underwater, holding her breath.*
*Sings*
"I need a fix, cos I'm going dow-ow-owwwn."
WOW
Grainne without the corrections, which you seem not to have know or neglected to put forward for other reasons, alot of citizens would have gotten a incorrect image of what was going on with the economy.
The title of the article itself "taxation crippling the economy" is patently wrong. Asking questions of the system is one thing.... making accusations on the basis of wrong information is another.
That should not be encouraged for it is dangerous for citzens knowledge to be tainted by such inaccuracies. You would hardly wish someone to write articles about how to fight encouraging citizens to fight below 40 wellness... this is of a similar vain.
I personally felt the disclaimer at the end would be sufficient to ensure people recognised the premise of the article was foolish but I really do not understand why you would want to perpetuate the foolishness further.... you understand what I'm saying surely.
Can any one here actually write a formula they think would be correct?
That would be impressive.
