I'd call this a player strike, not a temper tantrum. Respectfully, the MDP is an important part of Canada and I wouldn't characterize the party has 'not nice'. Obviously you can use this approach, and do so successfully. It does however come at a cost to the country that we all share.

We are well overdue for a war. There is no denying that. I'm curious if we will now be simply denied a war to spite these recent actions.

Rylde is voicing what a lot of people think in the way only Rylde does, you may not agree with it but you have to admire it.

Personally I think if plans for war had gone straight ahead publicly and action in place none of this would be happening, with ED's term being peaceful as of get after following your painfully dull term you can understand why people get restless, especially since there are lots of competitions we seem to be missing out on because we can't get TP DMG.

With an MDP free cabinet all it is doing is taking away from a balance of views being presented in a documented process. It also creates the illusion that the CPF members have the best interest at heart to the eCanadians who dont care to follow the daily goings on and just check profiles for people's credentials and who was in office last time and vote for them. By keeping MDP out of the political picture they have no choice but to create a new picture that the people will notice and stand behind... hence the above article. I'm no politician but without the right mix you are wasting your warriors time and i do agree that "military power is stronger than political and forum power" - Just my 2 cents on the matter

Gotta admit it's weird not to have any MDP people in the govt, as the second biggest party in the country, but also knowing how much people we have that could stand out on the national scene and probably do a better job than those chosen.

If you believe shoi is the only FA 'guru' in eCan, TheSmoke, then you must not talk to very many people. Shoi is good at what he does, for sure. He publishes great articles and has relationships around the eGlobe, but he is not the only one with connections and knowledge in this country. He's just the only one you like.

We wear the same jersey Rylde, Team Canada. We play hockey different but the team needs both of us to succeed. If you don't want to kill penalties unless we are playing opponents that you like, that is putting yourself ahead of the team, and we both lose. So you are upset because the coach didn't put any of your friends on the powerplay? Grow up, you and your friends have a steady shift on this team and personally, I highly value the way you guys play. Everybody knows your friends will get their shot when the powerplay unit fails to produce and it is inevitable that they will fail at some point in the future.

Sabotoge is a painful path, I would have hoped that our time in the Butthurt Brigade would have taught you that much.

Personally, I'm tired of the the same old MDP guys on the CP ballot. I'd like a chance to VOTE FOR and FIGHT WITH SGTRock, Ardikus, Shoi, canadianpunk, JRC, screamingslave, Mary Chan, Claire Louise, cripes even Xander Cross is a high potential military guy.

CPF does not have a monopoly on solid, viable CP Candidates, not by a long shot, and I'd like to see some of those MDP members get a chance to shine and lead the country. There are plenty of bright spots within MDP that appeal across party boundaries, I don't speak for all CPF but I know there are plenty of CPF that would fight for an MDP CP. Broadcast a pilot episode, not a rerun.

Send your best and brightest to the CP Tournament, I know you have some, and you'll be surprised. You just may get your cake and eat it too.

Man, you shouldn't make me read such long comments early in the morning, but it was worth it. Only problem I see is that even if someone like JRC or Xander ran for CP, it would still be a "MDP leadership". I'm not convinced that they would have a better shot than Rylde or Rolo. Of course it would be new candidates, but the leadership style would pretty much be the same

On everything else you're just wrong. The CPF is the new DAL and the MDP is playing the role of the CPF. It doesn't matter what we try and do the horde mentality of the Zombie Vote Herd will elect Fram over TFD every time.

You may not see it that way, but neither did CitB or Scorpius. All of their actions were justified because they had "the will of the people" behind them. But the smell's a whole lot different when you're on the outside looking in.

I agree that CPF runs the risk of being the new DAL, there is awareness of this within CPF.

I disagree with you when you say "it doesn't matter what we try to do", because the Rolo and Rylde reruns definitely are not a breadth of options.

Your comments about CitB and Scorpius concern me because they are totally true. I will evaluate the situation here for my own good. I know for certain that I, and any party, are fallible.

Addy I totally agree. What I see is a stagnant MDP whose inner circle is reminding me of the inner circle DAL except they don't have the power outside of their party. I personally have nothing against the MDP, but I rarely see anyone come out who I think is worth voting for, or worth the risk.

What I also see is them blaming everyone else rather than taking personal responsibility for their poor showing. It is hard to be objective when you are so close to being the decision maker but perhaps this will be a wake up call.

They have been told why, it is up to them to either act upon it or not.

And there's no risk of the CPF becoming the new DAL. From someone that threw rocks at both of their glasshouses you are the new DAL.

And you're absolutely right, putting Rolo or Rylde on the ballot month after month will probably never pay off, but when they're the only people that want on the ballot you're left with few choices.

This is how the MDP's CP candidate discussion goes:

"Who we running this month?"
"I don't know. But we should find someone that wants to make a serious go of it."
"Yah I'll ask around. We really need a candidate this month"

Then we go through a list of candidates, most of the names mentioned here, plus some others, and we get nothing but, "Sorry I don't have time" and the occasional "I would, but the CPF will just win anyway so why bother?"

Then by the time the 3rd rolls around Rolo and Rylde are the only ones left and it's basically a coin flip.

MDP's biggest strength is also our greatest weakness. We're filled with experienced, knowledgeable and effective players that know how the game works. This is fantastic when it comes to planning a quick strike on a region, or organizing a resistance like we did against Spain for the maritimes, But the reverse of the coin is that those same players also know enough to have absolutely no desires to be CP because the rewards (a few extra buttons and a bit of presitge) don't come close to outweighing the costs.

I've been spending a lot of time in different parties lately, and let me tell you, they're basically all the same. Every party has an 'inner circle' whether they're willing to admit it or not. If ED hadn't had a moment of temporary insanity and decided to run for CP, who would CPF have put up? You, Klop? Same guys as before. The problem is, most people who know enough to make a good CP want nothing to do with the position.

Shoi and I had a run before and lost. I can't speak for Shoi, but my RL isn't at the prime time for a CP term, heck, it's not even prime time for a congress term. If you want, I can run, pull a Wally and leave Rylde or Rolo pulling the VP strings.

The difficulty isn't finding someone that is able to be CP, but in finding someone that wants to be CP. Perhaps MDP should have a dictatorial approach in appointing a CP candidate as well.

Which is the hardest part 😛

Looking at the numbers, MDP has 24% of the top 5 party membership and got 25% of the overall vote for your CP candidate. CPF has 32% of the top 5 party membership and got 47% of the overall vote for CP. If your members all vote how they are told to, that means you got basically nobody from other parties to vote for the MDP candidate.

Instead of screaming injustice maybe the MDP should look at itself why it can't attract voters from other parties. Could it be your choice of CP candidates? And who is responsible for putting the candidates forth in the elections? Is it your military council?
