So, how has the week passed in the New World? Who has made progress? Who has been dealt the scent of defeat? Find out in this week's edition of Around the World!
I hid a couple of Easter Eggs in the pictures, so if you find a secret number, tell me and you might get a prize! Hey, it's my way of giving back for being so late ;_;
MAJOR WARS
The War of the Balkans
Ukrainian Front
Before
After
Belligerents: Ukraine vs. Hungary, Moldova
Results: Who's next in the 'Kick Ukraine' game, Singapore? After losing provinces to Russia and being temporarily wiped by Bulgaria and Moldova, it appeared that Ukraine may have gotten itself back together. Indeed wiping Moldova as retribution seemed like a good thing. But Hungary had other plans, and fresh off of a peace deal with Romania invaded the war-torn nation, sending its troops straight east, capturing provinces from Hungary's border to the Black Sea. And to make matters worse, Moldova has freed itself, and is busy causing havoc from the sidelines. EDEN's troops are spread too thinly to be able to help Ukraine, who is staring at their grave.
Winner (this week): Hungary, Moldova (devastating)
Winner (campaign): Hungary, Moldova (devastating)
Bulgarian Front
Start
Belligerents: Turkey vs. Bulgaria, Serbia
Results: Before the errant Turk claims to be a Bulgarian slayer, remember that Bulgaria's forces are all focused in South America rather than defending the homeland. But while Serbia has filled in their spot in their stead, even the mighty Serbian army has had difficulty. Despite impressive gains early on for the Serbs, they have since stalled. Turkey has recaptured the Black Sea Coast, and as such has encircled the Serbian front, which has since fallen back to Turkey. But Serbia hasn't thrown in the towel yet, carefully focusing its troops to prevent any Turkish advance. It's not a stalemate, but no one is giving up any time soon.
Winner (this week): DRAW
Winner (campaign): Turkey (minor)
Croatian Front
Start
Belligerents: Croatia vs. Slovenia
Results: And the Fellowship thought they could keep Croatia down. But after Serbia let its guard down and Croatia succeeded where fellow EDEN member Bosnia failed by revolting a province back to its control, Slovenia quickly blitzed the Croats in an attempt to stop Croatia before they got on their feet. But surprisingly, Slovenia wasn't able to push Croatia back into its grave, as the Croats defended their fresh new property well, and Croatia hasn't stopped there, cutting into Slovenia and separating them from their Italian holdings. Things look good for Croatia.
Winner (this week): Croatia
Winner (campaign): Croatia
The Argentinean Collapse
Before
After
Belligerents: Argentina, Brazil vs. Bulgaria, Peru, Chile, Paraguay
Results: If it's any consolation, at least Argentina has an airstrike to use. That's good, right? But as for the war, Argentina is just about finished. Bulgaria has continued its raid southward, supporting the liberation of its Chilean and Paraguayan allies. And the further south Bulgaria gets, the less of a fight Argentina puts up. However, Argentina's shift in focus to Paraguay may bring a ray of hope to the situation. With Paraguay separating remaining Argentinean provinces, a success for Argentina would bring back some hope. Additionally, Brazil has taken care of Peru's attempt to rebuild, taking out one of their enemies. But Argentina still needs a lot to go right and nothing to go wrong.
Winner (this week): Bulgaria, Chile, Paraguay (devastating)
Winner (campaign): Bulgaria, Chile, Paraguay (devastating)
The Alphabet War
Before
After
Belligerents: Finland vs. Estonia
Results: The endless war continues! Estonia's attempt to push Finland out was working, but thanks to new Swedish allies, Finland stopped its losing streak and held strong, despite a united ABC effort. A mad scramble and successful attacks each way later, the dust cleared to a status quo. That's right. The front ended up not shifting at all. But with Finland bringing its new alliance for a test drive, Estonians should be a bit worried. Look for an end to this never-ending war soon.
Winner (this week): DRAW
Winner (campaign): Finland (minor)
The Battle of Oceania?
MINOR WARS
Portuguese War of Resurgence
Before
After
Belligerents: Portugal vs. Spain
Results: Porto Pact be damned, the battle goes on! Although Portugal appeared to be coming back against all odds to reclaim all of its fallen property, after the botched peace deal Spain has come back with a vengeance, sweeping south and recapturing Centro, as well as taking Madeira (off-screen). Unless the pact kicks in soon, Portugal may be hard-pressed to hold back the Spaniards another time.

o.o ukraine
good read as ever Mr Shoi O7
You may need to change the following:
Belligerents: Argentina, Brazil vs. Bulgaria, Peru, Chile, Paraguay.
Remove- Brazil as they are not doing anything against Bulgaria. The only "support" was to attack Peru, but Peruvians are focusing helping their allies eliminating Argentina. Brazil prefer to mantein his alliance with Poland (as Poland and Bulgaria as closed allies) as if they had attacked Bulgaria, the pact with Poland was out.
Nice one, voted and shouted.
Nice job as usual. Two comments:
1) saying Ukraine is in the Balkans is stretching it.
2) Slovenia wasn't separated from its Italian holdings, its capital is Emilia-Romagna. They got separated from their homeland so they lost 40% food and 20% weapons bonus (as opposed to 20/20 in Italy).
