An SOS (寸)

Day 1,740, 15:57 Published in Canada Canada by Shoi12

Now, my brigadiers, tough times have fallen upon us. War wages on around the world, and has recently dragged our fair nation Canada into a Kobayashi Maru. Well, normally ordinary wars don't interest me, so this enterprise against both the Brits and the Polish has been entertaining, at the very least. But there is a fine line between being bold and gutsy and being plain stupid. And at times, we've definitely crossed the line.

I've been on this eWorld for a relatively short time, I'll concede that. With only about 100 days under my belt, I can't claim to know a whole lot. But I do know that there's times to be aggressive, but also times when being an angel beats being an aggressor. And I can't help but feel like our united alliances' moves (both Terra and EDEN) have been poor far too often. I mean, a completely peaceful world is a world god only knows, but while wars are good, the battles we've had have not been in our best interest. Let's take a look at the map when I was born, shall we?

With the Mongol Hungarian invasion of France underway and the lower Balkans already under Serbian control, it doesn't seem much different. But there are some bright spots in this past time. Nations have not given up hope. France is still fighting, Romania is holding strong, and things don't seem as bad in general. Argentina is still in one piece, Russia is tempting Poles with its demonic smile, and America remains a loyal bro and part of Terra's heart and soul. Even smaller nations like us have been successful, defeating the Brits for the 82nd time. Australia has its pact of peace with Indonesia, and Brazil is as mighty and as much of a pal as ever.

But we've taken casualties since then. America and Brazil have since pursued other allies, France and Romania have accepted peace with their enemies (rea😛 surrender or be wiped), and many solid attempts at attacking Serbia have all been tested and failed in quick succession. Even our Canadian forces have had a blast defending our borders from a variety of attacking forces (America, United Kingdom, Poland, Spain). Despite the Eden of the east, with mighty China and Russia, Europe has fallen mostly to enemy forces.

Things have not worked out on the battlefield, and not in the boardroom either. In more than a few nations, Congresses have had confusing laws pass (America attacking Canada) and 'gimme' laws fail (Porto Pact), and there are clear scars within the nations themselves, even without foreign PTOing. There's a reason why the Fellowship remains strong while TEDEN nations fall and leave.

I won't deny there haven't been a few minor successes. Italy is still alive, despite being relegated to one province, and Croatia has a legitimate, if out of the way, base of operations in Southeast Asia thanks to an airstrike. Russia's sister Belarus has regained independence from the Baltic alliance. But Serbia, Macedonia, and many other Fellowship nations stand more powerful than ever.

We cannot be a baka and test out our stronger enemies' power. We must play with guts, but not with blind and misguided fury. It's the story of the tortoise and the hare (hare). There's no point in rushing to make something happen if it results in our demise. Both in Canada and in our allied community, we must intelligently and work together as a unit. Build up new friendships with neutral nations and offer cooperation. Put any past arguments aside and work together. For if we bicker amongst ourselves and waste our energy on each other, we may as well sign our own death note will. Play gutsy, but play smart. El Psy Congroo.

Until next time, take care! (As in, don't chug bleach)
