Fellow citizens
Thank you for your patience over the last week or so, as we have negotiated our way into new occupation arrangements with Asteria and are starting new rotations of Training and Resistance Wars.
CODE has now left our regions and we would like to acknowledge the friendly relationship we had with them since the agreement last November. We were able to run smoothly for several months and maintain training wars. We also had an excellent service in the return of our taxes from occupied reasons. We thank CODE for all of this and the good times we had.
We now welcome Asteria to our country and we have negotiated the arrangements for regions to be held, the rotations of battles and the return of taxes. We have also pencilled in an agreement on which Battle Hero awards can be taken by Asteria fighters and which are reserved to us. Essentially, if an eUK citizen has claimed the Battle Hero within 30 minutes of the start of a battle, this will be respected. Please note that token damage will not count in this consideration. A significant amount of damage must have been recorded.
To facilitate the battles, I have proposed to Congress a Natural Enemy status for Serbia and a Declaration of War against Bulgaria. This will initiate battles once passed, except of course where there are existing battles. You will get the NE bonus in our battles against Serbia.
Once we have our financial statements sorted out, I’ll do another article reporting on that. However, what will be returning is the Air Rank Incentive Scheme as in my last term as CP. There will be no restrictions on this award but the details and upper limit on eligibility are yet to be agreed in Cabinet.

I'm interested in what your enforcement mechanism is for this particular bit?
Doubt there's any practical enforcement beyond a warning that after 30mins they'll start hitting on our side (especially in the RWs as we'll need to win them anyway)
So it only applies to our side not the other?
I'd be surprised if there were no hits on their side but if not then by all means go for it (especially if they are to win)
Well if I do a significant amount of damage (whatever that is?) at the start on their side then they are treaty bound to respect it.
not if they've claimed the BH >within 30 minutes of the start of a battle
we can't stop you deciding to have a pissing match with them though anyway, if that's what you're asking
Not so much the pissing aspect that bothers me, more the thought that you consider it your right to prescribe how and when I click the fight button.
Perhaps the government could also tell me where to work, for what wage and which groups I'm allowed to be part of?
dunno, TW's have terms and this isn't an unusual one
It's highly unusual.
You're attempting to coerce/educate/suggest to UKers to hit in the first 30 minutes of a battle which whilst not quite on the same level as "Hey guys you should totes buy Q1 Air Weps" is certainly in the same conversation as highly questionable behaviours.
Further you're setting terms and conditions for correct claiming of medals which (ignoring the unenforceability of such) is just opening up inboxes to aggrieved emails from foreigners claiming we are theives, murders and without honour etc....
I get that the default for your lot upon an invasion is to surrender and beg on your knees for mercy and that's not going to change, but I don't see why you have to tack on an appendix of idiot ideas to the whole business.
I'm reading it as "Asteria will wait 30 minutes before going for the BH medal on our side, and we should do the same on their side". As far as I'm concerned UK BH medals are ours for the taking, not just during the first thirty minutes.
I don't think it say anything contradicting that. It's just Asteria will not go for unclaimed rounds in the first 30 mins on our side.
Greetings OH Great Leader. Glad that you have come to an agreement in your talks with your contemporaries. In what seems to have been a very cordial undrstanding with CODE and as well, a friendly agreement we currently have setup with Asteria. I do have a few questions though, is there a reason as to why the eUK has opted to no longer participate in some sort of an alliance with other eNations? Have we become anathema in the eRepublik community? If its for reasons of impracticality, then, why has it been practical in the past for the eUK? Lastly, what benefits do these alliances serve other eNations and not us?
My apologies in advance, as I am sure that this issue has hit the fan on other occasions.
Thanks, and great success in your term(s)...
It's a wargame and the UK has no significant damage to offer nor anyway of co-ordinating or having a cohesive application of what damage it has.
Not sure I fully understand, but I am sure that the eUK would have more to offer than some other eRepublik countries that are in alliances.
It's not needed to have anything practical to offer to be in an alliance or to have allies. It is about you want to be allies or not. You joined Orion than left Orion for fun. When Code is strong you are friends with Code when Asteria is strong you are friends with Asteria. Maybe it pays off but noone can do anything with that to view you as allies.
"A significant amount of damage must have been recorded."
Out of interest, is there a figure written in to this agreement for each division?
I'm guessing it's going to smoke anyone who's not a D4 maverick and put the totals starting in 10's of millions.
In division one it is not unusual for me to log in within 5 minutes of a start of battle and see someone with 10 million damage already on the board. Rarely are they UK citizens.
I sure do love surrendering
Shocking..
the deal seems attractive. Our allies are aware of their power and our weakness...and we must be satisfied with it all is the question of offering them Edinburgh. ;what a great idea..
