This Week in eBelgium, Day 1008

Day 1,008, 19:45 Published in Belgium USA by MaryamQ
Hello again, eBelgium!

This week has seen an upswing in activity, partly due to people starting to return from holidays, but also to rumors of war, with a threat from eNetherlands that ended after a failed vote, but not before inspiring more activity on the forum and in the media than we have seen for weeks.

Happily, this is just in time for congressional elections, and we finally have some real choices. Please go here to see the slate and the program offered by Res Belgica. These are all good people. In Brussels, we have Habraka Abrivianius, an extremely experienced player with a resume too long to share here, who is also our new Party President. I am also running for the 3rd time in Brussels, along with Jacob van Artevelde, a slightly younger but willing player. In Flanders, we have Mike Wooldridge, who is running for his 7th term, and Rithulme, running for his 4th. In Wallonia, there is Helviro, also running for a 4th term, Stonix for his 2nd, and Sammy Tanghe, going for his 1st term but well known to many of us for his excellent news writing. I am proud to call these men my teammates and friends, and hope you will give them all a chance to serve you.

Outside Res Belgica, there are some other excellent candidates, but also some who will not do anything for you if elected. Take a careful look before you cast your vote. Some of my favorites include A Vegan, Velitia, oXyTeC, ThomasRed, Wolf-stone, and Beli Jesen. I do not always agree with these candidates, nor do they agree with each other all the time, but I know they all care deeply about eBelgium and will serve you well.

Sadly, we will be missing Hugo Lilly, who is quitting the game, and Stilpo, who is going on hiatus from politics, among others who have been important in building eBelgium. We wish them well, and will hope for the return of those who just need a break. In the meantime, there are plenty of opportunities for people to step up and fill in the gaps. eBelgium is a land of opportunity for people who want to try out their leadership skills and make a difference. Will you be one of them?

Don't forget to vote! Let's move eBelgium to a brighter future! Keep watching for Aldous!
