We should lower VAT on Food and Houses to 1% to help the average player's money go farther and to help local producers make a profit. These two items are in high demand and if houses are purchased locally most of the time that will lead to higher production.
We only have Food Bonus's so lets make it easier to sell.
Also I want to know if Government is still running Welfare programs, I have not seen any announcements from Government all month which is unacceptable in my opinion.

if you compare with taxes in other countries, our taxes are among the lowest. And food production is very profitable now, so no need for lowering it.
We did good analysis when we set those tax and VAT rates
VAT is jacking up the prices on items you can't deny that.
I am not trying to deny that, I only say that with these WT and VAT and our food bonuses that we provided to eJapan, our citizens can earn a lot on food production. And food sells fast on our market if you set decent price.
About VAT for Houses, we can talk about lowering that, and we will do analysis and talks in government about lowering that. That is something that we have on mind for some time
What about the Welfare programs touted as of last month? What about no State media for a long time now?
About welfare program will answer minister for that, I only know that we didn't stopped financing of that program. There was nothing new in our foreign policy, and we had few good articles from MoCHE team in past month.

Well currently we are in a losing streak population-wise. Weed > Beer
Everybody who signed up gets food drops every Tuesday and Friday as stated in the last article that went out. Our last article to go up was 10 days ago, hardly that long considering the state I revived in to. As we get close to the holiday season activity always drops in eRep as a whole. That being said, we're working on an international event which also takes time, but it should go up soon.
