In Sluagh's Own Words
Ronisu
Firstly, I would like to preface this by saying that I do sincerely congratulate Sluagh on his win. He and EA ran a great campaign, and as I have stated before I look forward to working with his administration.
However...
His election was not a Mandate to become Dictator, dissolve Congress, or discard the Constitution. He wan on 6 planks, which I will address here, but only one of them was to become dictator.
The Platform
[1.] I wish to be appointed as Dictator and govern the nation without congressional interference to achieve efficient and timely results.
[2.] I wish to invest 600,000 IEP into our nations military to encourage pro-active fighters and enhance our military capability.
[3.] I will provide every citizen who cooperates with military orders adequate supplies as they contribute towards national goals.
[4.] Weekly National Strikes will be reintroduced, we will supply soldiers extra who show up to the Strike. These strikes were always good fun when organised and it encourages an active community and military.
[5.] The State will sponsor and fund journalist who provide articles of a certain quality. This is to encourage and active media as well as individual expression and debate.
[6.] The Irish Community will be revitalized and games, food drives and a weekly lotto will be returned to the public eye. Again, this encourages greater activity within the social element of the game.
Let us invest in our military, our society, our citizens and our future.
If Sluagh had run simply on Platform Plank One, then he would have a better case for the his election being a Mandate, but even then it would have failed a key test. Sluagh promised 600k IEP to be allocated to enhance our military, promised supplies for every citizen following orders, promised the excitement of Weekly Strikes, promised funded journalism and promised a revived Community program. All these are achievable through his election and admirable goals that I generally support. They are also promises that could earn a campaign a great deal of votes and support.
As an additional note, There was no Platform Plank for discarding the Constitution. So even if you accept Mandate rhetoric, Sluagh has no mandate for the removal according to his Platform and his highly visible Election Eve article.
Let's examine another section of that article:
In truth, this election is between both myself and Rikian1776. We are running on two completely opposing platforms. He represents a continuation of the current administrations work, which we've endured for four months with little to no advancement in any aspect of the game. In contrast I represent radical military change which will see an investment of 600,000 IEP into our nations military.
So are people voting for Sluagh to oppose the ILP? Are people voting due to the platform plank he chose to represent himself with, the promise of 600k IEP for reinvigorating our military system? Notice how he doesn't say that he represents a movement to become dictator, he chooses to represent himself with the promise of reinvigorating the military, which is entirely in the Constitutional bounds of the CP position.
Furthermore, we can crow about how all the voters are infinitely educated on all our politicians and platforms, but that is simply disingenuous. A portion of Sluagh's voters voted for him for any number of other reasons, maybe they are an old-two clicker from EA, just as maybe some people voted for Rikian because Batman is cool. Sluagh near the top of his article (above the platform) chose the represent himself as the candidate of Military Reform, not the candidate of Dictatorship.
Finally, if Sluagh had instead worked within the system, we could have already passed much of his platform and he would have my support, and likely that of many of the other parties. I urge Sluagh to reconvene Congress, observe the Constitution and lets get to work bringing eIreland back to life again. As you have pointed out, there is a lot of work to do, and I know many of my fellow citizens are eager to work with you to revitalize our small island, but...
Do you value reviving eIreland more or the Dictatorship?
Comments
"There was no Platform Plank for discarding the Constitution"
There shouldn't be one... The constitution itself wasn't in force, as stated by our dead dictator back when it suited her needs (http://s23.postimg.org/4x8i65iu3/fdsfadsfds.png). In her words the constitution wasn't valid, yet she is hiding behind it now. Sluagh didn't do anything wrong by removing it because the document itself wasn't in power.
You ask if we value reviving eIreland. Do you? This whole charade is holding back so much work and progress, and yet you still support Nogin in doing it. Are you really that afraid of Sluagh actually doing something you might not like that you are willing to put the people through this meat grinder?
That being said, you wrote a pretty good article, I'll give you that.
I support Nogin for Dictator as she was elected, I support Sluagh for CP as he was elected. I support the Consitution (that badly needs reform) because it was voted in. If you anyone wants to change the system they need to work within the system to have legitimacy. Sluagh made a mistake in discarding the Constitution and Congress, as he could be working on all the points of his platform within that system.
I wonder if you necroposted my comments on the constitution would you find many where I pointed out flaws with it. But like Nogin who on election swore to uphold the constitution as was her job, I too was elected and given powers by the self same constitution.
Whether we held opinions on its suitability or not it was/is the law of the land and we both did/are doing or duty by it.
Sluagh was elected CP and initially given powers by the same constitution...he choose to remove his powers thinking that Nogin would abandon her duty...he miscalculated her sense of duty (i too have occasionally did the same and got a whack of the wooden spoon)
Now as Elite has said a lot of Sluagh wants to do can be done...(I too support much of it and truth be told I had only one aim in my terms - that was liberation...achieved, I was not looking at much else)
If he returns to this, as I already had told Don prior to any vote been cast, he would of found a partner, partners in this.
If he really want to remove the constitution there are ways to do this too...while I would not agree I could help him frame it so as (if passed) it would be a safe and legal transition...if passed!
So look Sluagh, lets just move the trigger fingers back, reconvene Congress...carry out your platform. you will find partners willing to help.
And before you accuse me of just saying this because Rikian lost, ask Don, I said it to him 5 days before the election.
New to the game. Supported Sluagh due to the number of times his name was being mentioned figured he was as one article said the "Obvious Choice." I don't even know what the dictator does! Section 6 was what I voted for.
I believe you are not alone. Glad to see you have joined the IFP, welcome to the game.
Thanks for the vote.
If you have any more questions about my platform or the game in general - feel free to inquire. My door is always open..
We set up the dictator to avoid a MTO. We did not make the CP dictator because we were worried about theft. we set up the constitution to define powers in this government. The last 4 months have been a disaster, the worst in my memory. We need to step back and make changes. That is what he ran on and that is what the people decided. I know you have not been back long and seen how things have gone down hill and ripkian is your mate but party politics got us in this situation.
I agree with you, on many points, but you don't solve the problem by throwing the baby out with the bathwater you work with people to make changes enforced by legitimacy. If Sluagh had approached Congress with his platform they would have rapidly supported most changes, especially the IFP and even the nefarious ILP. Even now, I am fully in belief that a reconvened Congress would support much of his stuff even after being dismissed. Don't like WHS, fine, outperform him, but why are the other measures necessary unless less than noble plans are in the works (There you go Sweet, another notch on your flowchart, 😃).
Congress limits things, ILP are known to try and hamper our efforts.
Did you know WHS proposed to congress to rename Ireland CrOmegaLand and make our official language Croatian? This is the sort of carry on he and others undertook to weaken administrations.
Did you know WHS threw his toys out of the pram because I was trying to form an alliance for Ireland? He said I had no entitlement to put Ireland into an alliance, which I had not done - I was preparing an alliance which the people could then vote on.
Did you know WHS threw more toys out of the pram when MooMooHead privately funded a MPP with Mexico as it was not approved by congress despite them being an ally.
These are the constitutional measures that cause delays, cause problems and wreck us at an efficient level. Our nation has been wrecked, broken apart. The democracy I outlined above is what prevents us from rebuilding this nation.
I want us to have a good month, let those who have experience and the ability rebuild a nation for its people. Not a congress which is notorious for petty squabbles.
"Did you know WHS proposed to congress to rename Ireland CrOmegaLand and make our official language Croatian? This is the sort of carry on he and others undertook to weaken administrations." you are well aware that was a joke Sluagh
I said that any alliance should go to a referendum...I still hold that view
I said that MPPs should go to a vote of Congress a view you seemingly help also
Anyway see my post above
"you are well aware that was a joke "
racist jokes aren't funny
WHS, you know very well you *insisted* that was a legitimate proposal, at great length too. Even your own party members were speechless.
#goodtimes
You did not stress this as a joke in one bit, you and members of your party have continuously referred to CrOmega as PTO'ers and the like despite them only working for Irish interests. They may be interests that differ from your opinion but then this highlights how you behave to those who look differently then you do.
No WHS, you gave out for me even speaking with allied nations without consulting congress. You insisted I had made us join an alliance which I had not and you were adamant about this.

I'm going to quote you on something from one of your articles:
" Lets take our country back from the gang now riding roughshod over our community."
"Remember this is our game too..."
Well yes, it is my game too as well as my supporters. We won the clearest of clear elections seen in this State and you are denying that.
Hi Ronisu, thanks for the article and points I'm happy to answer.
I mentioned in my first campaign article:
"If elected, I will dispose of the Constitution (I was the CP who implemented it) and implement "Emergency Powers" giving the Executive complete control over the nation. It is my belief that we need a strong leader to deliver on results and this is the truth."
From then on I referred to placing me as Dictator which is much the same thing as this. I did not hide these facts.
Regarding voting for me as opposed to the ILP-link - there was also other candidates, they opted for me and the reforms I was running under. Rikian basically ran on a platform very much similar to those of the four months before him - there was no clear plan, outline or substance to his promises other than the fact he will do his best to continue on and improve what has clearly been a failing system. The fact he also had been seen as inactive from the public eye didn't help much - what does Rikian stand for? How hard working will he be this time around. Three years is a long time to remain in the shadows and not out in the public light, this is something I feel scared a lot of voters.
I also feel that you question the reasons people voted for me a reason to take away from my platform. People voted for something - we honour that vote. We can't give somebody extra credit because their voters have better or more reason to do so. One vote is a vote. This is a democracy and democracy gave me the number one spot on a plan I clearly outlined.
----
I understand your disgruntlement with my aims but you must understand mine. I am being held ransom by those who lost, by their system which I was elected to take apart. This further highlights problems with this system and those running it.
I am not somebody who is going to rob Ireland, I've had the ability when our assets were in excess of the current figure - I didn't. I believe I am trustworthy etc. I am trying to do something new for this nation, improve it from the dead mess it has become.
Politics has made this country become redundant - don't hold Ireland to the past, let her grow into something stronger and exciting.
I certainly understand that it was mentioned, however many who vote are going to vote based on what you say in visible articles on Election Day. You make no reference to these plans at this time, which further muddles your Mandate argument. You have a Mandate to be CP, and I support you wholeheartedly in that role, you earned it. I hardly believe Rikian is holding you ransom, but if we assume you mean the ILP (and I'm not sure how), then you are to blame by disbanding the tools you could have used to exact your political will. Your decision to dissolve the Constitution and disband Congress, while impassioned, was short sighted. You could have worked to build a better eIreland with a wider range of the community, but you choose the path of alienation and force.
make sense, my vote.
utter nonsense
High praise from you, old boy. Always good to see familiar faces, 🙂.
Sluagh ran last erm and didnt come close to winning.
He won this term because of his platform.
ppl voted for his platform.
stop treating ppl like they dont matter before u dont matter.
No democratic system in the history of the world works in such a way that discards entire institutions with a plurality. I'm not sure what your last line means, but if I am interpreting it right, I'm not sure what I have done to earn the disrespect.
"no democratic system in history" Ron?
this is a browser game!
& we've been playing it your way for over 1/2 A DECADE.
you won't let anyone try anything different even once?
you act like the folks that want to are misbehaving?
If you really want everything to be run exactly as in real life we will continue to fall further behind in this game. However if you really want a real life comparison then look no further than the foundation of our own real life state. In the absence of a referendum (e-Ireland was denied this also) the 1918 General Election that saw Sinn Fein secure 46% of the popular vote is seen as the mandate to throw out an entire empire and all of it's institutions, and subsequently what gave legitimacy to the War of Independence. When dealing with a tyrannical regime this is what has to happen. The time for talking is well and truly over and a new era is about to begin.
Just run a referendum for the alternate way and let it pass, that is how you try something different, not by trying to use rhetoric and semantics to weasel/trick your way in. I have no connection to the status quo, simply that the will of the people be represented as accurately as possible, which would be by a direct up/down referendum.
As you have reminded me, I am pretty freshly back, I don't have a horse in the ILP/anti-ILP race. Different people can oppose and protest for different reasons. I encouraged Rikian to run, he was my guy, but he was not the ILP guy. We thought the status quo was not working either or else we would have supported an Establishment candidate.
