【TUP】Presidential elections, Discord and PokeFlute
Hell The Great
Before I go into more details on the progress TUP has made over the last couple of days, I'd firstly like to officially open up our Presidential ballot. So far only one candidate has come forward, but our poll will begin tomorrow, meaning any candidate who hopes to get TUP support should be getting in touch with me at some point today. As always, we will be meritocratic with our decision: regardless of where the candidate calls their political home, we're looking at policy, history and capability. Feel free to get in touch and get yourself added to the ballot - just be sure to include notes on your policy and goals for the month.
Should no candidate receive a majority, then as with previous months, the party will not officially endorse any candidate in game, something which has happened various times over the last couple of months. I'm hopeful we will have, or be able to support, a candidate: but ultimately the voice of the party will be listened to.
To increase communication amongst party members, and foster stronger relationships between all batshit lefties, TUP has also opened a discord channel. For those already registered, you can use our open invite link here. If you haven't yet downloaded or registered, the Discord app is available on the App Store and Play Store; download then click the link above. Discord is essentially a WhatsApp alternative which has room-based chats as well as individual or group chats; be sure to engage yourself to ensure you're getting to know everyone!
There's also a wider eRepublik chat, which also has links to the UK official channel, which you can find here. My advice is get in eRep, eUK and TUP to ensure you have ample active conversations to engage in.
In terms of policy, the general consensus amongst the party was to support Harambe with the training war, but going forward the effect this has on our MPP structure is not really worth the small bumps to patriot medals; going forward we would hope for some kind of Air Strike, or real war. As the term is almost over, such discussions are better suited for Harambe's successor. In terms of tax policy, with an active and competent MoF in the form of Huey, we again will support existing policy.
Policy discussions amongst some congress candidates have already begun; as and when these yield results we will officially announce any changes we would propose; but as things stand, things don't seem awful, so there isn't a ton we can change. The biggest issue is activity: outside of MoD and MoF reports there doesn't seem to be a lot of communication: a more active social side within a domestic policy to engage the population at large would help to try and stimulate our two-clickers - we are already attempting to do this ourselves, but ultimately this shouldn't be left down to parties to do alone.
Finally, after rounds of donations and internal discussions, I'm pleased to announce the first in a line of activity-related policies TUP will be releasing over the coming weeks. Codenamed PokeFlute, this policy will see members of TUP given upwards of 20 Q7 weapons per day, to do with as they so please. Supplies are split into two parts:
Work supply is dropped off once per week, to TUP members who work in a party commune. Each work shift completed resulting in a supply of 15Q7 weapons. Based on a once-daily work shift, that's 105 Q7 weapons per week.
Activity supply is a daily drop off of 5 Q7 weapons. Members sign in on the party feed to receive their 5 Q7 weapons.
Anyone interested in signing up for the above, can message me for further instructions: the only requirement is that you are a TUP member.
tl;dr:
- Apply to run for President with TUP support by tomorrow
- Government's doing OK but enough with the training wars, and more articles plzthx
- Tons of weapons for all TUP members

What domestic policy is even up for debate?
Taxes - we seem to sorted a nice balance between hoarding cash and keeping cash in players pockets. I don't see a real hunger to play about with em from the public.
MPPs - seeing as every man and his dog are TWing having a shit load of MPPs is just pissing cash up the wall. 10k is a lot of cash just to let people fight in battles without requiring moving tickets. Those that we haven't resigned with have been informed of the reason why and can be resigned at a moments notice.
Citizenship - seeing as 1) nowt can be enforced ( we'd just be returning to 2012 and arguing for the sake of arguing) and 2) no one except multies want to come here anyway.
Chatting shit for the sake of chatting shit is basically all we have atm...
Of course domestic policy is up for debate, every policy is up for debate; minus game mechanics themselves, how we approach things has always required an element of fluidity. The need for MPPs can change at a moments notice, but without the TW, we could keep the same number of MPPs whilst maximising protection: replace the low hitters with the big hitters; simples!
As for citizenship, who's bringing that up? No-one wants a return to meta, unless Applefarts comes back I doubt anyone is interested in such a return either.
And yeah, parties exist to deal with the political module, so minus talking about stuff or doing stuff, there isn't really anything else a party can/should do..
Just pointing out what limited issues we have to 'debate'.
The reason we have put the 'big hitters' on hold is due to the current TW. They are ready to be signed at the drop of a hat.
My ideas are to be found in your inbox James
I agree full heartily when it comes to activity and press releases but I do concur with Wayne about the MPPs and the TW. In a world where everybody is MPPing everybody and trying to sort some sort of TW you get overlapping from all sides. So it is a choice this legislation made to drop some MPPs in favour of the TW. Also I know for a fact that that we just have to drop a call in with some countries to sign one, I helped making sure of that.
Also what MoD? We haven't had a real MoD artcicle out since idk. It was Harambe who quickly put something out.
Tbh there s not much for a MoD to say that is not already known - fight for allies in TWs and RWs and UK wins RW and loses direct battles...same old, same old...
Im running for president !
What Real War do you want that doesn't end up in the eUK being wiped? Our alliance doesn't want a 'real war'. Fight in the TW, earn some TP gold and be happy we don't have the Irish still romping all over us.
On a separate note, if you are under level 32, please contact me to sign up for the NHS - free food, just for being active!
We should see if we could hand out moving tickets too. 😃 no reason to not fight because food + travelling cost
Excellent idea!
