[Presidential Address] Charity Begins at Home, Justice Begins Next Door
DMV3
"The friendliness and charity of our countrymen can always be relied upon to relieve their fellow citizens in misfortune. This has been repeatedly and quite lately demonstrated."
Earlier today a generous Canadian citizen approached me about my plan to fund our government through charitable donations. We discussed the idea and he was enthusiastic to help as long as no one knew he was the one who made the donation. He was generous and made a donation of 50k cc to our treasury.
As a result of this individuals generosity I decided to match the donation with a donation of 50k cc of my own. Thanks to these individual donations our treasury has grown from 79,141.37cc to 179,213.89. I would like to keep this momentum going and hope that you can help me with this. I know that most Canadians can not afford to make these large of donations, but that should not discourage you from helping.
I want to recognize the charity of the people of Canada and I encourage all Canadians to give what you can spare and contact me with the amount of your donation so we can track donations so it does not effect our tracking of tax revenue. When you contact me I will publish your name here, if you wish to have it published.
Donations:
50,000 cc Anonymous Donor
50,000 cc DMV3
20,000 cc Zappie
Total: 120,000 cc

Ideas and game play verses quick credit card solutions? Hmmm. Might just be crazy enough to work.

beware those that try to buy you...
Who is buying anyone? We're raising money to fund our government. Giving people ownership of their country gives them pride and purpose.
You are running for CP, suddenly an 'anonymous donor' appears handing over 50k, you match it and make a song and dance about it. Disguising such actions as charity...
Wayne you could always donate to Canada.
I have, many times. Difference is I don't ask for anything in return when I give...
I'm not asking for anything, just encouraging my fellow Canadians to give to their nation.
Fellow who? Meh. It's always nice when your pimp gives you a cut. Yay, early Christmas.
@DMV
You are asking for something, you are asking for re-election.
In RL, there are limits on the amounts that people and corporations can donate to political parties for that exact reason.
It smells bad.
That said, I appreciate the donation, the country will benefit from it.
I want to feel good about this...I really sincerely do, but part of me is just not sure...the timing is "Interesting".
In the end the treasury wins and thats a good thing...I just have a bizarre feeling in my gut is all...
While all donations should be welcome coming during a CP election time AND being publicised like this is 'odd'. The line between 'good news' and 'propaganda' is thin.
donate 50,001 Acacia \o/
I wish I had it to give brother...I really do. Help me...I'm Poor 🙂
Kanada is like the Cayman Islands. All the Americans flocking there for their tax rates. Shame on you Kanada, raise your taxes to 20 percent like good Americans.
I donated to the TemujinBC for CP Oct 5 Fund
AND YOU SHOULD TOO \o/
You have successfully donated 0.69 Gold. If the user accepts, the amount will appear shortly in the citizen account.

Thanks Fritz, err, anonymous donor

Keep Canada poor with a 1% tax, then flip the bill with the white knight set up. Clever. Curious to see if the "charity" stops when Canada doesn't fall in line with the plan. We've seen the carrot. Wonder what the stick looks like.
For me, the true test of this charity will come if DMV3 is NOT re-elected. Will these "Anonymous" donors still come forward? I hope so, but that will be the litmus test for me personally.
Very much so.
Recall in his MoD/MU thread that he didn't want anyone to see, he stated, "We need to first show that we're going to elect people who are not going to derp away our relations. ... But as I said their government (USA) is mostly concerned that we keep unreasonable leaders out of our government."
So obviously so long as our "relations" are CoT focused and we have "reasonable" leaders, which is subjective to the CoT focus the money will continue to flow in substitute to our 1% tax lacking tax flow.
I'm pretty sure we've raised almost what has been spent so far this month. I'm not going to argue with you about this, but I love how the conspiracy theorist come out of the woodwork whenever something good happens.
What isn't to be suspicious of USA 180 turn around from completely ignoring Canada to throwing huge stacks of cash at us. That you continue to take offense at a pragmatic and reasonably cautious approach to this sudden USA personality change actually makes it look even more suspicious. Each time I get to peak behind the curtain I get to see a very different DMV then our illustrious benefactor.
LMAO! You're the most paranoid person I've ever met. Maybe lay off the drugs while playing eRep?
I don't think its so much conspiracy theories as much as the optics make people wonder. Remember, we have had monkey business with money in this country before and so anytime something THIS unusual happens, people are skeptical. Its normal for people to question things that on the surface, are unusual and out of place. I think we all hope this is above board but you can't blame people for wondering out loud. Had you been here for the last several years as an eCanadian, you might better understand the cynicism. You can't be blamed however, for not being a part of this community as long as the rest of us have....thats certainly not your fault.
So Canada is suspicious of charity and pardons those who steal from the government. Do I have this right?
Come on now DMV3, Foxfire is voicing an opinion...maybe take a step back and look at it from his vantage point. He is concerned for his country and you can't slight him for that. In fact, we need more people who truly worry about the state of the Nation...we may not always agree with their opinions, but cutting them down in an insulting manner doesn't help either. Maybe agree to disagree on this one?

He's a xenophobe and a troll, nothing more. I actually expected better from you though, Acacia.
I find it funny that you always resort to name calling when I call your actions in to question. You are a very short tempered person. Did you seriously think that you would hold the office of CP and never have any of your actions questioned? Part of the job. Try to show a bit more class while you still hold it.
With all due respect, you were not here for the Pardon and you were not intimately involved in the affairs of that event. I might suggest you step lightly on issues like the pardon. There is a lot to it and its not merely as simple as your implying.
The very fact we have had a history of monkey business with money, is the very reason people are skeptical of large donations like this...especially coming from someone on the heels of a re-election campaign. You're not stupid my friend...even YOU must see that the optics are fuzzy here. Again, I am happy to see us growing our treasury, but past history for long term eCanadians dictates some measure of caution when large bags of money show up at the door.
Would you not have questions if Brinks suddenly showed up at your door and handed you bags upon bags of money and then walked away? It would arouse your suspicions too. Again though, perhaps you needed to be here to fully understand the culture we seem to have around money...again, thats not your fault, but you're getting a crash course on the topic now.
I don't mind having my actions questioned, but you have shown your true colors. The level of paranoia you display towards anyone who you don't find to be a "true Canadian" is rather disturbing.
Well I am sorry you feel as though I should be offering better. I dont think I have slighted you at all. I stated earlier I WANT to feel good about this, but again, as an eCanadian who has been through some odd monkey business with money, my sense are naturally excited when I see something like this. I am not out to get you sir...just trying to help you understand the perspectives your seeing. Perhaps my biggest mistake here was trying to lend an opinion and help you understand why some are questioning this. Apologies if my comments in any way offended your sensibilities.
Acacia, you weren't here for the wipe and you weren't intimately involved in the events because you have a history of disappearing for months on end without notice, maybe you should step lightly. How about the fact you're too busy campaigning you can't be bothered to finish your job as Press Secretary?
Im not interested in Personal Attacks...if you wish to attack me then by all means, but I think it makes you look petty personally and I have always felt you were above that. If you want a public admission I have been derilect in writing articles for you, then you're correct...I have....I could and should be doing more. I can only offer my sincere apologies for not being as active as I should have been in your cabinet, and at this point, I am not sure you really would like me to continue.
The thing is Acacia this isn't me campaigning, this is me working for OUR country. The fact that you choose to attack charity instead of saying hey I have 50 cc or 100 cc I can spare really disappoints me. It not how much a person gives that should matter to anyone, but the fact they do give instead of taking that matters.
So how about we all add something of value to our nation instead of taking from it?
Not your fault Acacia. DMV3 doesn't like anything he does or says questioned. ANYTHING. Nothing suspicious about that.
@DMV3 I was a huge supporter of Pat as CP (started in CW which I am proud to say). Pat was well known to be from the UK. I've never had any problem with a foreign CP, and in truth I have no personal grievance with you, thus I have never once swore at you or ever called you a single name. Your actions and conduct on the other hand I have taken offense at because you clearly do not have Canada's best interests at heart and continue to hold the USA above us. That is of course your priority, but it does not serve the best interests of my country, and that is what puts us at odds.
Continue your slander if that all you have, but I will likewise continue to point out how you don't answer these allegations and prefer to operate behind closed doors.
Foxfire, Calling someone a PTOer is in fact an ad hominem unless there is actual proof of this being the case. I'm pretty sure I was elected by Canadian votes.
Why would I attempt to PTO Canada after being elected solely by Canadians? In what world does that even make sense to anyone?
Why would I attempt to PTO Canada after being elected solely by Canadians? In what world does that even make sense to anyone?
What annoys me especially about how you treat some of the people who disagree with your ideas is that you often ascertain that they're trolls. While I'm not always on the same side of an issue as Foxfire, he's always played by the rules, and is definitely not a troll.
You go on to shift blame onto Acacia for things he's neglected when they have absolutely no bearing on the conversation, when he's been nothing but polite to you.
As a wise man once said, ''Check yourself before you wreck yourself''.
You've allied us with CoT (even though you promised you wouldn't in your CP campaign). You lied about the tight deadline as a reason to so, even though there never was an actual tight deadline.
The Spanish-Mexico-USA really had no impact of Canada or our standing but you used it after the fact as a reason to join CoT. Not only did this put us into a battle that we didn't need to be in, still after a month all we've seen from CoT is us fighting battles to free USA.
Your 1% tax (and too many CoT MPPs) impoverishes the country (isn't sustainable so anyone would move here won't stay because it will have to change) creates a cover to bring in your own supporters and continue an unhealthy reliance on your cheque book for needed government funds.
You have denied Canadians a say in their own government, you seriously don't like to have your actions or decisions questioned, you proceed with a strong CoT agenda that we never were given a choice in and all political actions (payments to government and increase in political power).
That's fact. If removing political control of a country from it's existing political structure and controlling it yourself without accountability isn't a PTO then we have very different dictionaries.
Call this trolling if you wish, but all it's only a recount of your actions.
Joshur I don't have an issue with people questioning my decisions, but Foxfire questions my loyalty and I have a huge issue with that.
Acacia on the other hand tells me not to talk about something because I wasn't here for it and as far as I'm concerned that's bull especially when he hasn't been playing the game for months and pretends he has a claim on being Canadian when I was actually around and struggling to help Canada while he was away from the game. He wants to criticize me that's fine I have every right to criticize a fellow candidate for CP as well.
I think you are really loyal to the USA if that makes you feel better.
