[Presidential Address] Are We having Fun yet?
DMV3
My Fellow eCanadians,
I am addressing you today to get you up to speed on everything that has been going on during this war, and to mark an important milestone in this conflict. While I have not addressed the nation much during a fair deal of this conflict, I plan on filling you all in on why I have been so quiet this term.
For me this month has been filled with ups and downs, but in the end I have thoroughly enjoyed this month and our success on the battlefield. I don't care to fight for medals as much as I care about winning the battle, and more importantly winning the war. I believe we have made great moves this month in regards to winning both the battles and eventually winning this war. Do not get me wrong, this war is far from over, but we have been making the right moves to help bring it to an end.
This month for me has been rather disappointing on the domestic front. While we will have a Congress this month, I found it difficult to get people motivated on our domestic agendas due to the war. My own activity in media was something I considered to be lackluster at best. I had often wondered why Rylde hadn't published more during his term, but after my term was underway I had discovered why media for a war President can be a difficult task.
During times of war, especially during a long-term occupation it is becomes difficult to publish articles for a variety of reasons. First off, you're extremely busy and distracted by trying to run battles, coordinate damage, and assisting allies. The second reason it becomes hard to write about the war is because during an occupation it is hard dealing with the fact that today's victories will end up being tomorrow's defeat, it's an endless cycle of capturing and losing territories. This endless cycle of gaining and losing territory weighs you down and makes it hard to celebrate success, when you know that success is only going to be a temporary measure.
The lack of a Congress and the lack of an interest in domestic policy also make publishing difficult since there becomes little to talk about other than the war. This is further compounded by the fact that there is so much that is happening during a war that can not be made public due to the need to keep information away from your enemy. Operational Security makes it very difficult to tell the people what we're going to be doing ahead of time and more importantly, why we're doing it.
We have however reached a turning point this month, we have seen enough success that we have accomplished a major goal I had set for us this month. We have secured a Congress. This will revitalize our community and help us focus more on a domestic agenda in addition to our war efforts. Another major turning point for this month is that our enemy's morale has reached a new low during this war. While they had been united and determined at the beginning of the month, our victories and their own internal issues have begun to take a toll on them. Instead of focusing on fighting us, they have begun to fight among themselves. And where we began the term trying to heal from a contentious campaign, we have become united in our victories and closer as a nation. While I had initially doubted our abilities to reconcile and make gains on the battlefield, I am glad our success on the battlefield has brought us closer together as a community, and it is my hope that we can continue to do both.
I have a strict agenda I wish to accomplish during the remainder of this term now that we have a Congress. I plan on pushing for repayment of our War Bonds, setting up repayment of a loan from our Australian friends in order to help secure our Congress, and most importantly liquidating our gold reserves so that they might be of some use to the eCandian people moving forward.
These things will help us resolve our obligations and move forward with the war. As I have stated this war is not yet over, but is merely starting to take a turn in our direction. It is because of that momentum that I have decided I will seek reelection in the month of June. We still have much to accomplish, but with your help we will make strides to end our occupation.
Long Live eCanada!

I must admit I like the Norsefire propaganda
Brings back memories of entertaining times for eCanada....
TBH I was very skeptical on how your term would turn out in the beginning. I predicted a very different outcome. I'm glad that I was wrong and feel this can be said now. It has been a great term (atleast so far, however I doubt that any future actions will ruin it). Good job DMV!
Finally a congressiste will approve my demande de citoyenneté! I quited the game 3 yrs ago while I had the belgian citoyenneté.

I don't like the war bonds, I don't like liquidating gold reserves, but I do like being competitive against a tyrant and it seems as if those must go hand in hand for a small nation to succeed.
Well that and a lot of allied support and private donations lol
You steered the ship very well DMV. I couldn't do it.
Wars are sexy , policy and building up a foundation is not. You'll probably continue to find disinterest in it at least for the short term until eCanada finds stability and that is all that is really left to talk about. But that what you enjoy doing so id be able to get behind another 4 weeks of DMV. o7
**cough cough PTO cough cough**
I am in favor of getting the gold reserve out of the treasury.
/me picks myself up after being punched in the face.
Let me say that I understand that a few CAD have disappeared in the past and that people are suspicious. I further understand that people don't want to spend everything all at once. I'd like to point out that if we are wiped that any money or gold in the treasury is worthless to us. I'd also point out that if we are loosing battles because we spend to little the funds are equally useless and what money is spent will be wasted.
I don't have all the answers but I do have ideas. I'll be bringing up those ideas in congress this month.
~hyuu~
Hail Norsefire!-- Wait a second...
We will not waver; we will not tire; we will not falter, and we will not fail. Peace and Freedom will prevail.
"Strength through unity, unity through strength".
Dmv confirmed for oblige multi 😛
I for one am enjoying this PTO
rename😛 "FTO"
You now have a senate and can give the US hell, fun times ahead and seeing you still on the map will be winding them up to hell. \o/
Also take your time on the loan, get your country's finances sorted first and just enjoy giving the yanks the middle finger.
...oh and good luck on June 5th, you and your Government have done a fantastic job.
There certainly have been successes this month. I am a little concerned at how easy it has been to defeat the Yanks. It's like they've been told to turtle. All this said, winning always feels better than losing. Let's keep it up.
meh, good things here and there and all that.
Hail Norsefire

Well done DMV, hope you will run again for CP
If you are too busy to release articles, tell your VP what you want and get them to write it for you.
The Minister of Propaganda was getting articles out, the issue was more about having content worth writing about than anything else though.
fun & fun!
