Here some information about the political situation in eNL.
The last two months we have struggled to create a goverment consisting of 'enough' active citizens! You heard me, we don't have enough active politicians to uphold the goverment like we used to. Politicians are seeking foreign refuge in order to fuel their political aspirations. By this I mean that the politicians we had are either quiting or one by one leaving the country to find a higher level of political activity.
We need to start recruiting international politicians and grant them eNL citizenship!
Currently we have two presidential candidates. Our votes will be divided between current CP, Odan and the other candidate Shtula. Walhallah has already dropped his campaign. Articles regarding the election campaign have yet to be published by the candidates.
I'll finish this article with some boobs because this might get me some subscribers.

Thank you!!
Voted for the boobs. About the politics, as a great "man" once sai😛 "It's a trap!".
"We need to start reqruiting international politicals and grant them eNL citizenship!"
except for the fact that those sort of thing do not work
Care to explain? If you can be CP in Belgium, our MoD is living in Aussieland and one of our CP candidate is a RL serbian? You don't have to be Dutch to play the game with eNL citizenship?
I call for discrimination 😛 hehe 🙂
Because recruiting people does not work, yes people go to other countries but they have to do if from their own accord, recruiting will not attract many people interested and people who will join are very possibly people with bad intention like djirtsdew pointed out.
Back in the haydays of Erepublik in 2009/2010 when a lot of players played this game one of my first jobs was Deputy minister and later Minister of Tourism for eSouth Africa, my job was to post article in a lot of countries and try and recruit people to come there. It didn't work back then and that was back when a so many many many more players played compared to the number of players who play now. All countries are shrinking, all countries especially smaller have problems with activity. Recruiting within this game isn't a solution.
P. Thanks for pointing out my spelling mistake published this on my phone 🙂
We need people interested in helping eNL to step forward and join governments or congress...
So I guess that is what Fhaemita's issue is: foreign people are not truly interested in helping eNL.
They might even wish us harm and attempt an MTO.
Regarding the current CP elections: The lack of articles is making it hard for party's to decide who to support. As odan at least is transparent in the sense that he has 1-month old articles and is currently running the gov, DemNL has decided to support him for these elections.
Regarding the lack of my personal involvement in eNL govs: I'm very busy IRL... Maybe half a year from now this will change, but for now I really shouldn't join.
I guess both you and Fhaemita have experienced this first hand. Probably you are right but we do have a lot of medals and opportunities in our country. CM CP medals are right here for the taking. We can offer, goverment experience to new players who aren't given the chance in other countries. I'm not someone who doesn't recognize the past, however you have to admit that for politicians with low military aspirations we are a great country to learn the ropes 🙂
Medals are not something to strive for. I know no one who became politician or in other ways involved to score a (forum) medal although I do admit I have 2 or so players in mind that actually go through a lot off trouble to get elected or something and after that do nothing any more. And no I'm not talking about odan should someone think so although it was his first time as CP.
And I have to add; Luckily. You need players that care, not ones that just drop by as being active, be it political or in other ways will cost a lot of time and efforts. Not to mention frustrations so you need motivated people for the job.
I'm sorry I couldn't get past the first gif
were there words
Shame. There were two important words later on. Perhaps give it a new try...
Yes politics are dead in eNL. However something tells me your analyses is off as most people I talked with were fed up with the "old" politicians that keep on ruling. Be it official or unofficial. And that ain't something from the last couple off month either. That was the case when I started playing already. Not to mention the fact the amount off players in game is shrinking which hits the smaller nations harder, yet eNL is shrinking way harder than the average or other small nations imo due to above mentioned reasons.
For eNL's politics (and other parts as well) we need that to stop. That way new blood will have more chance to stay in stead of flee or have to quit frustrated by what they can (not) do in eNL.
As for recruting; I don't agree that's the solution. eNL should primarily be run by native eNL players. Sure there can be non native players in eNL politics, but the majority needs to stay eNL otherwise we just become a satellite region of a foreign nation as recruiting will cause a boost from mainly one nation just to create that. Along with the creation off a MU to do a Coup a bit later to get total power.
I think your analysis is outdated. Politics in eNL is way different than it was when you was a politician if I compare historic debates of 2 years ago and before and the debates we had last year, there are a lot of differences. The political arena of eNL is dominated by new politicians. Take for instance a look at the DemNL party, where we had Mattio (old, but back this year), Legendardisch, Arcanic Mindje, Shawtyl0w, konnes, Willem The Conqueror, jordic and me as active and relative new politicians. Politics is not anymore based on personal feelings or hate towards each other (maybe by some, but they are in the minority).
Sadly the new politicians are accused of something the old politicians did long before they entered the arena. They are discouraged by the active ingame player base by doing what they do. That is one of the reasons why people get inactive or leave the country. Anyway, for me it definitely is.
I don't agree that recruiting is bad, but it should be qualitative recruiting. Foreign politicians you know because they were leading other countries and have a good record of collaborating with our country, are the people you want to recruit. If I'm correct, the current CP of Sweden is joining eNL for some time in a few days. Those kind of people are the people you want in eNL. And if they rule the country in the future and aren't Dutch in RL, that is not a problem.
You and the others you mention are not among the ones I refer to Spir Tus. Besides that: As far as I experienced over the years; New players are accepted within politics as long as they more or less fit within the direction wanted.
I agree on the fact the there is a different playing-field present if you compare 4, 2 or 1 year ago and the present time. Don't get fooled however; That will only be the case as long as the direction we're heading is the one wanted by those I refer to. If that changes you'll notice several players all of a sudden "wake up" or rejoin eNL to get extra power within congress or wherever needed.
That said; It ain't all negative indeed. There are some relatively new players like yourself that develop a mind of their own and are playing in such a way that there is done justice to all types off players rather than only a small fraction off it. I fear however it will not (yet) be enough to really change matters regarding our (political) climate. And as we can't change matters like the amount off resources we have or the military power it's the climate within our small population we have that needs to improve. And as far as I can see it changes indeed, but not for the better the last few months. And sadly that mainly is a result off politics and they constantly manage to silence the ones not staying within a few feet off the line. (They give you a bit off freedom to act, so not strictly in line but don't dare to get to far out off it)
