【jw】 Domestic policies: you mean all this time, we could've been friends?
Hell The Great
The impending doom of a wipe is something many would assume negates the importance of domestic policy; I've always been a firm believer the polar opposite is true. A wipe is no longer the potential end of a country anymore; it's impossible for a country to be kept off the map for a long period of time in the current game mechanics: so the issue is not when we free ourselves, but rather, how.
As such, the goal I have is simple: involve and engage. My government will be one that does the legwork, but in an inclusive way to encourage as much involvement from all parts of the population as possible. With a common goal uniting us: we can build the foundations for a future without the bickering that's got us singing from separate hymnsheets. The more we have in common, the more motivation we have to keep ourselves up to speed, and it's my hope that the apathetic masses we find ourselves amongst, can find something, or someone that makes that third, or even fourth click a day habitual.
As such, my first promise is media; granted, this is a common promise, but i's something that has all too often taken a back-seat in recent times, but it is one of the various tools I will be using to ensure an active group of people doing things. As such, I'll be looking for two ministers to handle domestic affairs: Minister of Education and Minister of Media.
The Ministry of Education will be tasked with rebuilding and collating the useful information that exists to ensure we have all the answers for the few new, or returning players that come, and combine this with the diligent work of the NHS, as well as daily order competitions to encourage activity outside of Plato's medals. They'll also be tasked with engaging with newer players as often as possible, to find out what if anything would help them make the overcome the awfulness that is the game right now and stick around.
As well as that, the ministry will be the 'messaging' mouthpiece of the Government: backing up all government initiatives and programs by ensuring the active population knows what is going on.
tl;dr:
- Guides, articles, rewards and messages to try to encourage people to ignore their logical side and stick around
- Spam pretty much all active players (minus those who opt out) with updates on what's going on, links to useful information or updates in the war effort
The Ministry of Media will be tasked with the management of the media module itself; newspapers and shoutboxes. Reports, initiatives and general activity will be required daily to ensure that there's something to do outside of clicking. A more detailed outline of what will happen, and when, will be released by this minister (should I be elected...) at the start of my term. This content will then be added to any collated content and sent in info-packs to encourage engagement.
As well as this, the Ministry will be responsible for working with all other members of cabinet to ensure that at least one report is produced a week, outlining any progress, events or issues the ministry has faced.
tl;dr:
- At least one kind of government article, message or national shout per day, with a breakdown of useful info and pointers to anything interesting
- More regular updates from all sides of government, outlining what's going on, and what is coming up
To conclude, domestics is not an intrinsically important part of government: it's the enabling foundation upon which a successful government sits. The more engagement we have, the quicker we're all on the same page. The quicker we're all on the same page, the sooner we're yank-free. Taking advantage of common goals now gives us the potential to build on this, and start to push ourselves; the more we push, the less likely we'll continue silently gliding towards the black hole of inactivity. All a government can do is encourage: but a short sharp kick a day over the course of a month, will hopefully do the trick.
Finally, a reminder that I'm still looking for applicants for all levels of government: drop me a PM here.

Good luck! ❤
Keeping everyone "on the same hymn sheet" that could take some hefty resources.
But hey, good luck with that, I'll go with anybody who has an idea.

Yeah, need to get back to fundamentals o7
I have plenty of friends, what I need is worthy foes...
Wait, who are your friends?
Wow your actually still alive
and kicking
IT'S A TRAP!
How's that?
But is it gay?
.
To ensure what you say happens, you'll need to hold your ministers accountable. Does that mean we can look forward to outgoing letter detailing the departments and the ministers responsible for not delivering your vision?
You mean like we've had from every other CP?
Oh wait, we haven't had that from any other CP.....
Indeed, but isn't the idea being proposed that a different way exists? We can't seek to compare a new approach against what has come before, or we actually end up with the exact same as before. That would be like saying it's not fair to assume success, because success didn't happen before.
You're right in that the hope is accountable ministers are active ministers. However, outgoing reports blasting inactivity aren't useful per se. In the past I replaced people mid term, but should I be unable to find someone to replace inactive ministers, I'll happily highlight just How shitty they were.
I find it all amusing to read to be honest.
Accountable ministers, daily updates and shouts...
I seem to recall three month ago in my CP term I suddenly was missing a vCP and a MoFa. I didn't make a big fuzz out of it and nobody even noticed I removed you and apples from cabinet because you were useless to me.
I sincerely hope if you get elected you are going be active and don't disappear on us.
I can't help Appleby running away. I was still around on apps keeping in touch though, but ultimately as vCP there's only so much I could have done without doing your job, or his, for you.
Just being there to exchange thoughts would have made a whole lot of difference. Not even talking about the only one article...
Anyway, I do wish you good luck. Even if you can manage only a third of what you set out to do it will be good enough. Although I most likely will vote for Pauly because he does what he communicates and communicates what he does.
Happy to see there will be a race for CP 🙂
Wayne Kerr's been an OK CP, but he could have posted more articles 🙁
all one word bro... WayneKerr, no space. Also, this goes to show how uninformed TUP members are, I haven't been CP since August 2014...
Oh come on, we all know Pauly is one of your multis...
You think I can be as nice as Pauly?
plz do your duty
Yeah, while I joke about everyone being Wayne's multies, it's just not true. Wayne's a dog person, while I'm quite obviously more of a cat-type-thing.
All I'm saying is that you could have posted one article
For what reason would I write. CP article?
We need an active CP
we have an active CP
Please have all your multis vote for Jamesw
