[CP] Discussion About Alliances
Ronisu
Greetings,
The survey at the beginning of the term brought a lot of new insight into how the Irish People felt about our alliance affiliation. I think it is important to continue the discussion about this affiliation and work to consistently work to best represent the Irish People so I am creating this article to facilitate communication and discourse on the topic. As a small nation, absolute neutrality is not a particularly good option and rather than getting into pro or anti EDEN debates, lets talk about what Ireland wants to get out of any alliance.
Please keep your comments civil. All comments will be taken into consideration and I look forward to hearing from you all. If you prefer not to post publicly you may PM me here.
Thanks,
Ronisu
President of Ireland

Well obviously there needs to be an eIrish war. All the boredom just made people attack each other.

Ally with me my friends 😃
Lol @ ^
Well for starters not putting any effort into an Airstrike was a big failure imo.
I was a big fan of shifting our foreign policy but with this new battle of the alliances i think we should halt that until its over, then introduce a policy of MPP'ing our friends. Theres no point in moving into another alliance when the globe is shifting on that front.
I have some questions about ours MMP: I don't we have have a MPP with Croatia?
And why irish people are so angry with Argentina that some MUs don't put the daily order their?
Caz some MUs love Chile/Bulgaria, also hope we wont be renewing our MPP with the States after their BS FA policy.
We are surrounded by people we are friendly with, have NAP's with, or can't afford to pick a fight with. So if we are in an alliance we need to ensure that they are active and that we have opportunities to join them.
Meh
Being in a military alliance means you fight for your allies and they fight for you. It means you coordinate battles with them. By definition you also don't fight against your alliance. If you are in EDEN you consider countries in it your friends and you don't fight against them. If you can't abide by these basic principles, then you don't belong in the alliance. It's that simple.
Being in an e-Irish debate means you throw sh*t at people and they throw sh*t at you. It means you coordinate sh*tstorms with them. By definition you also don't throw sh*t against your clan. If you are in Ireland you consider everyone in it to be a c*nt. If you can't abide by these basic principles and you don't enjoy being covered in sh*t, then you don't belong in an e-Irish debate. It's that simple. Now feck off.
A fair point is made by stating that to really get anything out of an alliance you have to put effort in, but let's try to keep the pro/antiEDEN stuff out. This is to help the government understand what the people are looking for in an alliance so that we can be clear in what we seek and ask for in the future.
Basically Ronisu is like Gormley and doesnt have the sack to do anything fun or risky.
Yawn, you got your medal & theres only a week and a half left.
Glove's direct democracy approach was interesting. Everyone in the population (who could be arsed) chose an enemy, from a list of available options.
All choices were published, majority vote won, and away ye go. Simples.
Ofc ppl will try to overcomplicate this with their amazing FA contacts and knowledge and legendary status in defunct alliances, but its all irrelevant.
Airstrike woulda been cool.
Interested to see how eIreland will fare in the Battle of the Alliances - should start today?
I agree with Grainne on the first part. If Govt doesn't wanna pick a fight, then let us do it.
The alliance we are in doesn't matter that much so long as we have some action and people are interested in playing for e-Ireland. It's the job of the CP to make the game fun and interesting for us. Delegating the alliance stuff to the ministers is a good idea, so the CP can focus on making something happen on the warfront, even if it means stepping on a few toes and being stubborn/singleminded to achieve it. Alliance stuff is important, but getting some action should be higher priority atm
For a CP that said he was going to cuminicate a lot we have been let down. This article seems like an after thought.
@moo The article is hardly an afterthought, it is a feedback article as I said I would make. Now would you like to give feedback on the topic?
@ibhoy I wholeheartedly agree, it is my hope to bring us into a war before the end of my term. It is something I will consider that the alliance doesn't particularly matter if we have a war.

If you are in EDEN you consider countries in it your friends
LOL!!!! YOU SHOULD HELP DAN BREEN WITH HIS daily joke of the day this sh*t is funneh
also maybe Ireland wont elect newbs in future elections
It's not the job of the CP to make things fun and relevant, but it does help. CP is elected on certain issues all of which are based on boring principles. If people want a war or action or fun, then any of the presidential candidates should have said so on their manifesto.
I think Dan was the only one agitating for action and look what happened to him.
So, if Ron doesn't get us involved in a war or another alliance that's perfectly OK because he was elected to evaluate and not impose.
I ran for war and action. Ron said he would look at war. Ron said EDEN had given us the go in war.
It's a part of the job that goes without saying Mal.
A huge part of being president is to make sure we are in the thick of it internationally. That doesn't need to be in a manifesto, it's just an automatically accepted duty of the CP in Ireland, or at least is used to be. It's obvious that in a wargame, voters by and large want war from whatever candidate is elected no matter what is in their manifesto.
It's then upto the CP to find a clever way around(or in some cases bulldoze through) any obstacles preventing that from happening.
Has anyone ever thought of attacking small nations which aren't necessarily beside us?
^@Anya, only an airstrike makes it possible to attack anyone other than an immediate neighbour.
I have been actively working towards a war, including a bit of bulldozing for a while. Ireland is in a precarious position when it comes to war and we all know it.
Mal is right, the cornerstone of my election was based on a wider range of boring topics, such as surveying the people, increased reliance on popular opinions, and reexamining our diplomatic place in the world. All of these things have seen progress.
I appreciate the sentiments expressed here and they have been noted.
What have you done about war?
Yes, let's get wiped again.
@Conway, you're right, you did indeed have an item to pursue a military campaign for Ireland. Far more seriously though, you said that Dublin was going to trash Laois. How can we expect you to tell the truth anymore?
@Mike
No one is saying we should go blindly into a war with no chance of success. With a little craft it's possible to get us a war without any risk to our cores. We've done it before.
EDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But keep our options open incase shit goes belly up
"also maybe Ireland wont elect newbs in future elections"
Padraig its being happening for ages, we all remember a certain Hungarian that fucked us up and ran off as soon as he was impeached. People think idiots and people who have not done a single thing deserve to be CP...tbh I think those who think that should be shot as its retarded but sadly its is Ireland. The 99% here (or where when i started 2 clicking) are retard.
Not an average Joe with an average flow doing average things with average hoes.
I think it would be funny to do a UK/Ireland Alliance and take over France.
Our future is with the real friends of our country. Bulgaria/Chile had helpes us more times than some of our allies in Eden. In CoT we have a future. Here in Eden we see how the helps never go to Ireland, they ask and ask and never gives. In change, Bulgaria help us every time, no matter we sign a mpp with Turkey and cancelled the mpp with them. That is a real friend.
pretty good explained our foreign affairs in this article lol . as I'm sure you promised to be active, so why don't you put CoT everyday? why don't you answer on eIre citizens questions? do your job well or quit it
"Bulgaria/Chile had helpes us more times than some of our allies in Eden."
How long have you been in Ireland?
I cant count the amount of times our EDEN allies have come to our aid, so many times I have gone to them when we were badly losing and asked for help quick and they came straight in and changed battles. We would have been under UK control a lot longer than we were in the dark times if it wasn't for our EDEN and Bro allies.
"Being in an e-Irish debate means you throw sh*t at people and they throw sh*t at you. It means you coordinate sh*tstorms with them" x2 I nominate this for comment of the month
Vote me in Shannon! I don't have lies, but I have a lot of cookies!
