[CP] A Look at Our Friends: Battle of Wexford 1725
Ronisu
I'm not sure you all got to see the closeness that was the Battle of Wexford. We got stuck in a position of divided damage as some MUs fought for Dublin, some for Scotland and some for Wexford. Luckily we became an EDEN prio in Wexford within 5 minutes of request, and the tide began to turn sharply. So here is an article of thanks to the brave soldiers that allowed us to refocus our damage and win in Wexford and Scotland.
All the graphs and information here is based on the Top 5 Fighters stats for the battle.
A Look at Top 5 Fighters Nationality by Country:
A Look at Damage Dealt by Nation:
A Look at the Alliances in the Battle:
A Look at the Damage Dealt by Alliances:
For numbers of people sent, I want to thank Greece, China, Iran, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, France and Germany for double digits in the top5s.
For damage dealt, I want to thank Greece, China, Brazil, France, Iran, Canada, the USA, Germany, Romania, Argentina, ROC and Israel for more than 2.5 mil in damage.
A few observations about the battle makeup. The Turks were there, and supplied over 1.5 mil in damage for our cause. Perhaps it is time to reanalyze beliefs regarding them. Also, no Bulgarian was in the Top 5 at all, while Argentina had 14 Top 5ers, or more than 5% of the total. Lets look at who our real friends are when we cut a little deeper than words and trolling. I respect the great history we have had with the Bulgarians, but they have chosen a different path, lets not forsake the friends we have for the friends we had.
A look at the alliances show that EDEN was the major damage dealer, doing 31% of the total damage. This isn't even counting Ireland which did 28% of the damage. That means that our EDEN Allies did more damage than we did in our battle. Also ProEDEN isn't considered in the 31% and contributes another 9%. Adding to our typical MPP stack, TERRA provided an additional 19% of damage. Even looking at Top 5 distribution, you can see that EDEN wasn't just with us for the Div 4 battles, but also beat out Ireland in the battle with 83 Top 5ers. Ireland did get 74, ProEDEN 29, TERRA 48. The Fellowship did get 2 Top 5s and the UK got 1. I do thank the US and Brazil for their hearty contributions, but kept this section about alliances.
Some words on the Treaty. While the enemy forces primarily consisted of Mercs and RW Warriors, and someone shelled out a lot of money for people to fight in the battles of 1725, the UK was largely absent from the opposition. Now, as you can see from these graphs, the eUK was also absent in helping us in what was one of our hardest fought Treaty Battles. To add insult to injury, this battle was going on after the Dail was already voting on the Peace Proposal. I have no doubt that the brits would have returned it to us via an RW, but the fact that we and our allies had to pour a comparable amount of damage into Scotland in order to win there as well is even more disturbing.
Hail EDEN
Hail Terra
Hail USA
Hail Brazil
Hail Ireland
Praises to all that helped us in our battle to keep Wexford.
Thanks,
Ronisu

Because there has been no other battles lol

If it wasnt for eBulgarian help, we may not have been fighting in Wexford, why, because there may not have been an eIreland

@Bigmike And if they were still friends I would believe your argument. Friends change like the tides, when we hold on to old friendships for the sake of history and not actual meaning, then you hold onto an albatross around Ireland's future. These aren't slanted statistics, it is all there, I didn't set out to prove a point, I looked at the charts and made observations.
Wow EDEN prio and they only make 3% more damage than Ireland.

We has substantial help from the UK in Scotland. Firefox30 personally assisted by negating the FYROM tank and emptied out his candy-bar store in doing so. You could have no complaints at how eUK behaved in the peace treaty so far.
It was good to see that EDEN responded so quickly and effectively to a request for help. It's also good to see that this government is listened to and respected by EDEN in the first place.

Great article, Ron.

Interesting stuff. Thanks for the info.
So we used an EDEN prio for a region that would have been returned within 48 hours anyway?
Also, although I've always supported Ireland in EDEN, it would be wise to look into other possibilities just in case.
Since the time we became allied to EDEN, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Finland and all 3 of our Brolliance partners USA, Canada and Australia have left the alliance. At what point does EDEN stop being the alliance we joined?
The alliance has been good for Ireland, but there is no guarantee that it will last forever. There are only 3 founding members left in the alliance now, and it's possible those countries will re-assess how they want to move forward. Is your Government looking into other options should the worst occur and EDEN be let go? Or do we wait it out, then scramble for position in a reactive manner if the whole thing goes tits up?
The hail's back to front really. It should be Hail Ireland first! That was a nervous few hours.

We in the UK for the most part stay out of the battles in Scotland and such until its starts looking like it may be going the wrong way. Our leaders try to send out shouts and messages for people to help keep them under Irish control but sometimes they either aren't around or don't get the responses needed.
I will be trying both to keep a closer eye on these fights and to encourage others to be prepared to react quicker when we have a situation like this again
Excellent article!
Shows the benefit of belonging to an alliance that responds.

Friends only change like the tides because people allow them to change. Why should we be like everyone else and give up friendship so easily?
Great article Ron, very eye-opening.
