Austrian Homeownership
rjeddings
Every citizen of eAustria should aspire to be a home owner. Houses deal with wellness; a higher quality house gives a greater gain in wellness when consuming food. If multiple houses are owned, the highest quality house is taken into consideration. As the game treats houses as inventory objects a house built anywhere is usable anywhere.
A house is a great investment. Unlike food, that you have to buy every day, a house last forever. That means that you will get a bump up in wellness everyday just for owning your house. If you are still new to eRepublic and are wondering how to get your wellness back up above 40 so you can fight: well one way is to own a house. You will lose 2 wellness everyday from training and working. If you own a house and you eat, then you will gain approximately 2 wellness every day. (It is not really that simple, as your increase in wellness is a factor of your current wellness. If you have wellness below 50, it will actually go up by more that 2 wellness per day until you get to 50.) Owning a house is a way to put your wellness increases on automatic.
So, when should you buy your first house? I think it should be done as soon as you reach level 6. When a citizen reaches level six, he/she will automatically receive 5 gold. Most Q1 houses only cost about 4 gold when it has been converted to the local currency. Higher quality houses cost more and should be bought in the future when you can afford them, but every new citizen should plan to buy their first house as soon as the get to level 6.

I disagree. I currently don't own a house. I see why it is beneficial for the economy (especially industry and market), but from a purely mathematical standpoint it doesn't add up. The most important factor is, that we have daily training wars and a Q5 hospital. I work at a Q2 company and use Q1 food. Every four days I have to miss out one single fight to keep my wellness constantly over 90 to make my employer happy. 0.5 XP per day plus the little drop in productivity because I'm only one in four days at 100 wellness when I work don't outweigh the large one-time costs of a house. Then you have to worry about upgrading too, since a Q1 house is really not a purchase to last.
Personally I think that building money and waiting for a Q5 house is the most economical thing to do. If we didn't have the training wars, things would be different of course.
I agree, but with the caveat that the training wars will not last forever. It it would be prudent for citizens to prepare to support their own wellness.
Houses are useful when you want to be a soldier and dont want to miss one fight avery x day.
Yeah. Houses makes some sense. But I'm doing fine without it. Unfortunately there's not enough incentive in the module to buy a house. Hopefully they figure out ways to make the economy more diverse soon, so it's not all weapons and food and war.
nowadays houses arent a good investment, unless they are q4-q5, i nbeta time they were better ones.
"I agree, but with the caveat that the training wars will not last forever."
I wouldn't doubt it....
