Where's Israel's Champion?
Charles Nimitz
Greetings Comrades!
First off, I would like to inform you all of our success with the Star of David Movement. We have opened up 4 companies, nearly 50 jobs, and we have donated more than 25 moving tickets to refugees wanting to move to our beautiful nation. I urge you all to keep donating so we can make a difference in our nation, and in the eWorld.
I suppose leadership at one time meant muscles; but today it means getting along with people.
-Mohandas Gandhi
However, for this article, I wanted to express my opinions, concerns, and most importantly, to get you, the public thinking. Feel free to debate in the comments space below.
As most of you already know, the congressional elections were held yesterday.I was absolutely disgusted with what I saw.
One article i read yesterday stated something along the lines of "All *political party* MEMBERS VOTE FOR ANOTHER *political party* MEMBER. I ALREADY HAVE 12 VOTES." I 'm not going to reveal who this was, but i can assure you they were one of the most popular politicians in Israel.
Are you kidding me?!Is this really what our politics are about these days?Winning Elections? Is it me, or does it seem like our top parties can force their wills upon our nation.
I'm also sure that you all know that our current President BuzzyTheCat is currently up for impeachment. Do you know why?For XP.. It is a sad day in our nation's history when our President is being impeached for the lulz, but regular proposals never get passed
So now I have must ask...Where is our real leadership? When will we have leaders who can cut the crap, and get our country into shape? Where are the progressive leaders who won't be bullied around by our political parties. Where are the leaders who will help with the refugee issue, and boost our revenue. Where are the leaders who will start up the movement to get eIsrael a High-grain region.
If you know some people like this, we need to know

You think it wrong that people in a game want to earn XP? That's the whole point of the game. Lol.
Everyone has goals, that's the point. Of course the IWP want to hold the most seats. That's the aim of the GAME.
Wow...
Actually, the president is under impeachment from another IWP member named CJ will win. A link on the page of the impeachment bill makes it obvious that he did it as a joke.
Please learn about things before you open your mouth, otherwise a good article about people and generosity.
I, as a Likud member, also wished people would stop voting for me, so they could vote for other acceptable people. I made it present in the IRC channel. Was I also wrong in doing so?
Also, for the impeachment...I wish people would stop fussing about that. It was their last day as Congressman (or the last day they had 1-2 extra proposals), so what's wrong with getting that Xp for voting? It's similar to training wars; do you also view them as wrong?
What makes me so mad is I see that there are more last second proposals for XP than there are legit proposals. As you can see, i noted that it was just for "lulz"
And I didnt single the IWP out. I merely pointed out that I don't agree with the practice of voting for only those in your party, rather than the most qualified candidates
You are right Charles Nimitz. Thank you for opening jobs in our country. I was thinking of starting a company myself, but now there seem to be plenty...
But i think you need to start understanding that this is a game. It is a fairly realistic game, but still just a game. Somebody making a joke or two is inevitable. On the Int4RWebz people do things for the lulz, because thats how the internet works.
Honestly I dont find anything wrong with strategic voting to help your party...If you want your party to be sucessful and to have more influence gaining more seats is key..
I fully understand this is a game. But i also understand that our congressmen and women are voted on the game to make our game competetive, which frankly, has not happened yet.
The number of legit proposals is directly affected by change. If we do not change, we can not propose anything beneficial. We are not gaining a plethora of people at this time, so there's no reason for changes to be made.
Also, I understand what you mean now. It did seem like you were singling out the IWP up above, however.
okay lemme edit it then
Soul it is my belief that congressional proposals being passed can lead to change
I do not agree with voting for someone only because of their party affiliation if there is a better known candidate. However, due to lack of communication from a lot of candidates, and poorly written presentations from another large group of candidates, many voters no idea what they were getting into I imagine. Thus, many were forced to vote for party members (and hope the member fit the overall ideology of that party) or for friends (or both).
I do not like it. . .but it is a game, and games such as this one--no matter their purpose (social sim? political sim? war sim?)--will be played as players see fit. No one can force them to write better presentations, or communicate better, or what have you--just as no one can stop some one from voting only for their own party members.
Just as in RL (a phrase I notice some older players cringe at), you can only be responsible for your own actions.
Change, yes. Change for the better? Not so. Simply because we can legitimately propose changing taxes, or increasing the minimum wage, does not mean it would be more beneficial to do so.
debates=awesome
Some are voted on to make our game competetive, others either vote for themselves, or create multi's to get themselves into congress.
I know, I know, This isn't allowed, and people who do this oftenly get frowned upon, but people are still doing it. Multi'ing is like drugs, it's not allowed, but that won't stop people from doing it.
I consider Buzzy one of my best "erep" friends and thought it was quite obvious that this was a joke. Of my several proposals as a congressman (either 6 or 8, can't remember) this is the first one that I did for XP and that is simply because there wasn't that much that needed to be passed that elections and other people did what needed to be done.
Every other proposal I've ever proposed has passed.
That said I can kind of agree and kinda disagree about voting for members of your party.
On the one hand when I was PP of the IWP I openly endorsed members from other parties and said publicly that I would vote for a good candidate over a bad IWP candidate.
That said a Political party is about bringing like minded people together. If you agree with someone of course you'll want them to get elected. However this is not what "our politics have become" this is what politics have been since the history of political parties.
PS. I don't see anything wrong with saying I have enough votes to win vote for somebody that needs the vote more than me.
Cj, to your last comment, he was referring to the, "Vote for other IWP candidates," instead of what it should have been, "Vote for other competent candidates."
Although, you stated before why this is the way that it is, so this point is rather null.
Nimitiz, at the time perhaps a number of congressmen felt there there were no proposals that NEEDED to be made at the time and rather than let the propsals go to waste and get no XP points they decided to get the XP points instead. there really is only so much that can be proposed anyway. what i hate to see is congressmen who throw away their proposals in the beginning of their term
I also agree the fake proposals are stupid, they shock some of the newer players for no reason (I was certainly shocked initially) and take out proposals that could theoretically be needed at the last minute.
Why ? 2 or 3 xp.. At least make sure there is 1 proposal left in caase of emergency .
What franz kafka did is legit though, it helps noone if he has 40 votes and the 2 crazy people with a friend get through congress when real canidates dont. That he said vote for his own party, well hes expected to do that as party leader.
this is true.

In Hebrew, the symbol known to gentiles as the "Star of David" is called "Magen David" or "shield of David" after the decorated shield King David is reputed to have used in battle. Any chance of changing the name to reflect Israeli culture?
