Risk: The Endgame
elleana
If you have ever played a game of Risk, or any real time strategy game for that matter, you might recognize the current state of the eWorld. It is fast approaching the endgame, with one single player (or alliance, in this case) possessing all the momentum. He has conquered large numbers of his opponents' territories, and continues to gobble up regions with impunity and aplomb. Because of his large, well-trained army, he can afford to fight multiple battles on multiple fronts, and the economic machine backing his army by churning out resources is growing ever stronger as their conquered territories increases. No one can stand against him, and it is a question of when, and not if, the free states of the eWorld are all conquered. If you ever need an example, just look at the statistics in the war between eSwitzerland and eHungary. eSwitzerland has 11 allies on her side, yet eHungary managed to do an irresistible amount of damage. Another newspaper questioned the unity of the opposing forces, suggesting that if we managed to coordinate our defense we might stand a chance. I am highly doubtful of that.
Question - would the eRepublik admin ever consider 'resetting' the game world, if any one particular nation/force/alliance is deemed to be extremely unbalancing to the game? If the current progression of events continues at its pace, eventually we will see an eWorld made up of eHungary, eIndonesia and a smattering of other states. The eUSAs and eCanadas of the world will be no more. I would imagine that players would leave the game en masse should that happen. Surely the admin wouldn't want a situation like that, would they?

Idea that admin`s would reset the game is insane. Think this:
Everything that you have worked for will disappear - everything that you have made will be gone in a couple of hours.
This is what would happen in both sides. Hungarian`s wouldn`t like if their strenght, rank and level would begone. I`m sure that any singaporean wouldn`t be happy if that would happen to them too.
If Hungary(or some other country) would conquer every single region in Erepublik then they would have very big problem - revolting citizens of their empire. There would be too many RW😒 to stand againt`s and too many baby booms to handle and soon their empire would collapse. There isn`t any country that could control whole eWorld.
erm.. this question has been poped out when v1 come out 😁
new players want restart as to lvl the game, old ones disagree.
u should think this way,( my explaination used last time) that if there is a restart... what happen to those companies, gold disappeared. what about the MM, goods stocks. it will be difficult to build up. plus old players will not try again..
😃 😃
Interesting comments. I wasn't asking for the admin to reset the world, I was just thinking out loud on what would happen. But yes, White Lion is right, it is unlikely for any one nation to conquer every region in eRepublik.
People would, rightfully, complain about the money they, spent on the game being a waste(if indeed anyone does spend money on the game)
In short, the game can't be reset because it would make so many old players quit, and the new players alone might not be enough to keep it going. And since they started making features that you can pay for, there's no chance they'll try a reset.
In my opinion, it's the nature of a game such as this that no one can win. Everytime one power starts to rise toward the top, a new conflict will come up to balance it out.
Well maybe not so much a total reset, but a territory reset, that is, with every territory going back to its original owner (as if RWed).
Then those territories would be up for grabs. If they got conquered once, they're probably not going to stand much of a chance, especially with a dead economy, populations spread out everywhere, etc.
Unless there were some significant, huge changes to the game, the world will largely remain the same world.
The admins will mess with the game rules. If someone starts getting dominant, they will make it harder to dominate and easier to dissent.
Reset!?
There's no need for it, now USA is the primary target. What should we do now to prevent any TO is to strengthen up our army so that we could fend off enemies. Also, we need to have more newborns, so more people can train up to be a good fighter. If that can be achieved, I believe there's no need to worry about.
If cannot, I think diplomatic missions to PEACE countries to improve ties maybe feasible.
At this point, we either join them or oppose them, and we'd rather not join them unless it becomes a security problem of national concern. A reset button is practically unfeasible. Yes, a country would probably not be able to dominate, but resetting would be more costly to the admins than any country domination would. And even if say peace controlled the whole world, 3 coordinated resistance wars could easily take at least one territory and resistance wars are likely, especially with the number of players not in PEACE countries.
Yeah it would never reset.
Sad Panda would ensue!
Interesting to look back in time to "old thinking". It's now Mar 25, 2010...and I just returned from the Massachusetts, USA polls to help elect this publisher to the US Congress.
