Sins of Our eFathers, Blood of Our eSons... [USA]

Sam Brusca
As our seemingly imminent doom draws near, many are starting to look back at the policies and decisions made by leaders past and try to figure out why and where we all went wrong. For hindsight is always 20-20...
The problem seems to stem from eRepublik itself. It's a game, however at the same time it's not a game. People should, and do, treat this like a game, you shouldn't bring RL politics and biases in here because in reality they don't matter. You can ally yourself with anyone, anywhere, anytime, for whatever reason. The object is to win the game. The object is to be the best and strongest citizen/country/alliance out there. However, these are people playing the game, and people hold grudges, people don't forget. They remember what you did, even if it wasn't you who did it. They find something, anything to latch onto and to rally around, because that's what humans do.
That's what's going on right now. Today's war is a culmination of the sins of our eFathers. The men and women who put together ATLANTIS, the leaders who attacked Russia and France, the people who supported a Romanian empire, the BETA's who did god knows what to the rest of the eworld... The rest of the world still remembers them, and we are paying for it. They don't remember who the president was. They don't care which senators voted in favor of those measures. They chose to forget the names of famous Generals. But what they do remember is America. And now we are bearing their burden.
There was a very interesting article written by a Hungarian about the same thing,
http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/peace-er-ellener-peace-force-counter-force-874472/1/20,
and in it they describe how the current alliances and wars of today are just a natural reaction of what preceded them, and they are right. But one thing they did not mention is that the cycle never dies. America and her allies will probably fall, were losing, broke, outmanned, and outmanuvered. But this is not the end. The citizens who are just joining and will soon join, the leaders of six months from now, will remember what happened, and will adapt better political and military tactics to combat those who hurt them. And then it will be PEACE's predecessors who will have to pay the price for there mistakes.
So for now, let the Jacobis and Richard Harrisons and Scrabmans of the world fall by the wayside as we lose all that we have. Our government is inefficient and burdensome anyways. The best leaders we will have are soon to come, they will rise out of the ashes of our fallen nation and lead us back to familiar glory over those who have bested us now. And don't forget one thing PEACE... we won't forget.

Except we're not going to lose.
You make interesting points in this article.
I'm reminded of the big alliances of the axis and allied nations in world wars I and II. Someone attacked someone else causing a whole web of alliances to activate all over the world and they plunged into a global war.
Well, we're at war now, I guess we have to fight.
Completly agree, great article.
We will remember.
I'm confused. So you're saying this war is the current President's faults?
Sometimes we have to accept that we may lose to keep from having it rubbed in our faces when we do lose.
There are always two sides in any war. Both want to win as much as the other. And no matter what happens, one will inevitably lose unless both are completely deadlocked. So either we will win and PEACE will lose, or PEACE will win and we will lose.
We should certainly not ignore the possibility of us losing merely to keep up morale, because the average person is not going to be fooled by continued optimistic predictions when they are seeing a steady stream of losses in our home territory.
No Richard Harrison, it's not your fault. I'm saying the opposite, it's ur predecessors fault, all the way back to BETAs. Im just saying you may need to fall by the wayside in order for us as a country to get back on track. And by you I mean a metaphor for the current government and people in charge.
gotcha. I don't see how me "falling by the wayside" solves anything, though.
Its a metaphor. Not you. The government in general. And out of it something better will arise. Its not meant to be a personal attack on you.
Subscribe worthy.
Even if France, Portugal and Russia are the tools of the invasion (don't get the word wrong, i mean that they where the ones with active MPPs, nothing more), the attack on them is not really the main reasons. It is more 3 things that happened not so long ago:
1) the way the US supported the eGenocide Croatia was making in Serbia; the mockery, RL insults that some croats where throwing at the serbians, which made it more then a game for any reasonable people. And don't forget how the TO there happened in the first place, through hacking the the only party presidents account
2) the totally unjustified attack on the Netherlands-Belgium union, which is amongst the must peacefull countries around; the whole attack was meant for them to lose a hospital, and spend money to reunite again
3) the presidential TO in France, trying to profit from the situation that Hungary was holding democratic elections and wasting about 3500 votes at home
And of course the fun part. Face it, the game is boring without wars. This was only shadowed by the unfriendly way most Americans reacted to the usual war spam. I have witnessed many wars, but never such reactions to enemy jokes.
WTF!! Already giving up? War is not over til it's over, and America (USA and Canada) has to remember that there are still allies fighting on their side in the rest of the world and helping them. So... do your part, grab a gun and go fight harder than ever, you're not alone and we all have to do our best!!
Gonzo tell that to eNK and eNorway. Anyway I liked this article a lot and hope to read more intresting from you. I also will enjoy seeing an improved eUS that can back up what it says about itself. Good luck.
Very nice I must admit. I almost had a man tear.
This war is not over. We are not broke. Have you not being paying attention to the injections of cash the government is making on a near regular basis? PEACE is spending far more than we are. Only 7 territories lie in enemy hands, and of those only 2 were truly important. Stop whining and FIGHT.
Voted and Subscribed. And it's true...every word.
And yes for all eUS people here..the war is lost. You'll either lose all territories, join PEACE or lose most and have to sign an unfair treaty. I don't want that to happen, but your outnumbered, outgunned and outmanovered. Your allies (NK and Norway and others) are losing big time.
