AMEN! Errr, I agree.
Ah, a convenient list of people to vote out of office. Too bad I'll be in Croatia for the next congressional election.
It's a GAME. There are no fundamental "rights" here other than what the admins define. Jesus H Keerist.
I respect everyone else's opinions on the issue, but how can we have freedom if we are being taken over by PEACE? While we're splitting (and wasting) American votes, the PEACE votes are unified. We need to use every vote we have available to fight again PEACE, not each other.
@SirEkim
I guess that's what Stalin said...
@ PiginZen: Why is always the people who insist that this is a game who also seem to take it so seriously that they shout down anyone who disagrees with the President?
I'll believe all you "winnists" that this is only a game when you stop making patriotic appeals for unity against our enemies.
@PigInZen -- I said nothing about "fundamental rights", rather, I believe that accountability is necessary for our government to function properly. While I might have been willing to work out a compromise, apparently the major parties instead sought to suspend democracy entirely, promising "democracy" a la "primary" system next month.
You could read my article and change your mind... 😉

@ comandantedavi😛 I have never "shouted down" anyone. Stop with the victimization role play already. This is simply about defending the US during wartime.
@ Robert Bayer: there is no "democracy" here. Any allusion to such is just a joke, and a sad one at that. How much voting difference is there really in the halls of Congress? How many votes have been decided by less than a 20-vote margin this session (hint: it rhymes with "son" and isn't a positive integer). This is ridiculous grandstanding to try to make yourselves look like the Saviors of Freedom.
The problem here is that a bunch of people got together and decided that there was one aspect of the game that is TOTALLYWAYAWESOMER than all of the other aspects of the game. Some of us joined to click a button that says "fight", sure, but many of the rest of us joined because we felt that getting involved in the politics here would be very interesting. You're essentially saying that any way of trying to play the game that is different than *your* way is not the *real* way. No, instead, we have to "win" (whatever that means) -- but apparently that doesn't involving trying to make the game as fun as possible for everyone involved.
So instead what we get are people shouted down for even daring to mention something from IRL, that, in all objectivity, is quite applicable to the situation on eRep. The problem is that everyone is just too scared to admit any sort of role-playing aspect into the game (G-d forbid!).
Maybe repeatedly clicking a button that says "FIGHT!" is fun to you and others -- but that doesn't entitle you to get rid of the ability of the rest of us to engage the game in the way which we enjoy the most.
Lastly, I'd like to point out that just because some of the largest parties don't have much in the way of differences between them (it's a fact of political science that appeals to the median voter get you the most votes, so the largest parties tend to be very similar [ex. the United States in real life]) doesn't mean that the rest of the eAmerican parties don't have any differences between them. The Socialist Freedom Party has a developed platform which, in fact, quite distinct from those of the other parties in the eUS.
voted!
Signed, former Senator Blake Chrysostom, UIP
IF you want to stop a PEACE PTO then promote the USAF and expand it so you can find more movers. There is no reason to put a freeze on the elections when we have these other options.
😁😁 THIS.
Fantastic defense Robert. I really appreciate the work you do on this game.
I do not know why people give you so much grief.
Here's my take on this.

I believe that this will preserve the principle of free and open elections here without degrading our ability to protect our allies against PEACE chicanery.
Suspend elections huh, true democracy.
Guys, come on. So many of you are actually in favor of the anti-PTO attempts, too.
Do you guys even realize how we stop PTOs?
