On War; Tyler F. Durden's Response to Banach's Article: "War is Like Chess..."
eFight Club
Yesterday, Banach wrote an excellent article regarding eCanada's military raison d'etre.
It can be found here:

Firstly, we would like to start off by thanking Banach for his well thought out and articulate dialogue regarding eCanada's politically misguided CAF, and related military critique.
Recently, The Soap Box ran an article (July 1st, titled "Red Sky At Morning") related to Banach's article yesterday in "The Perfect Gentleman".
We at eFight Club have been raising awareness to many of Banach's points regarding a necessary correctional shift in military posture.
Prussian military thinker Carl von Clauswitz

"Never fight war on your own soil."
That means, be prepared to defend the homeland. Be flexible.
Every eCanadian region which borders a non-continental region should have a Q5 DS and a Q5 Hospital. Population should be increased within such regions.
Obviously this refers to Newfoundland & Labrador.
With a whopping estimated population of 80 eCitizens, N&L - which also happens to be eCanada's ONLY source of Oil, is disgracefully unappreciated in strategic military thinking. The region which represents our very ability to conduct CAF expeditions (Oil = Moving Tickets) should have a population of 500 - minimum. This region represents the ability to SEND the CAF to the enemy - to fight him on HIS soil, so that we are not placed into the position of having to defend OUR soil. We lose that, then we are compelled to have to go to the Markets for Moving Tickets, or fight only on our soil, and only in regions adjacent to our own.
Easy, like math.
We need N/L not only ready for any military defence contingency operation, but as a staging area for CAF troops.
"Never fight war on your own soil."
That means, know who your enemies are.
Sure, sit back in your armchair, cross your arms and say;
"Oh, everyone knows who our enemies are, it's PEACE GC, eIndonesia, eHungary, eIran. We also sit on the fence with eSweden and ePoland..."
So, what are we preparing?
Better yet, what are THEY preparing?
We haven't been able to crack Fortress eEurope.
Pitiful.
We know where the enemy is, and we obsess more about COBRAs and other political snakes - who incidentally are completely uninterested in what Banach, and eFight Club are talking about.
How are they uninterested? They are failing to address fundamental military issues. They are failing to promote sound state military doctrine. Banach is correct in questioning the size of the CAF. His numbers of 200 CAF, and 400 reserves are ambitious, indeed.
We think those numbers can be higher.
500 troops for the CAF, and every single eCanadian over level 6 as reserves.
In "Red Sky At Morning" we have outlined a detailed hypothetical plan of engagement with the enemy we all know we will one day fight again. There were many excellent comments.
We encourage this discussion, and Tyler F. Durden and eFight Club will never have it far from their minds.
Homework assignment:
1) Buy two Moving Tickets
2) Buy 3 Weapons
3) Go to a Battlezone
4) Fight!
5) Return home
6) Return to this page and post a comment detailing where you went, and how you fought.

July 5 Update: eFight Club has chosen to edit this article. Just so that JT Vanguard does not appear to be a moron for commenting on aspects of this article which may no longer exist.

Tyler i appreciate your enthusiasm but please consider how much money it takes to do what you are saying.
a. There is no point in Q3 tickets - not to mention where can u buy Q3 tickets?
b. Q1 guns are what people should buy unless they have more than enough to purchase higher quality weapons. Q1 guns are the best bang for buck in terms of damage/price ratios.
c. rather than expend CAD on gifts its wiser to spend it on weapons.
d. Training wars will be more frequent - as such most people should save up their CAD and spend it on weapons on training wars- 2 tickets is almost 4 Q1 guns!
- There are people working on expanding the military and making Canada better - That is your government, and it does not take a genius to come up with the idea the greater the pop the larger the army.
But you have to remember the military is not everything - you must have sound economic and political policies in place.
And most importantly reliable and honest people in power.
The CAF is constantly changing to address the changes in game mechanics and alliances in erep. The CAF will grow to 200 members in the future but it cannot happen overnight without leadership and recruits willing to be active and determined. That takes time, but be rest assured that the groundwork is being laid out.
Tyler F Durden is my god.
Well not literally. In means of military, mili-political and mili-economic philosophies, very much so.
My original thought on Banach's article was the same, that the fight must be kept from out motherland, for a majority of the same reasons. Your arguments are compelling and fresh, not to mention straight up genius.
The only thing I would disagree with would be how to prepare, as JT mentioned. Weapons are the core of the fight system in this game, everything else can be supplied by government.
I think in order to gain more soldiers, the recruit minimum strength level should be dropped for entry into the CAF, whether they be reserves or not. The more members of the CAF the better, because organization spreads further across the board than with people freelance fighting, and organization is the key to a precise and planned military strike.
Preparation for war MUST be more than a couple training wars a week, as the government has already planned to fix. Once we start fighting against the largest alliance in eRep, we'll need to be completely prepared, organized and ready to go. And the way this can be accomplished will be Banach's military reform, plus Durden's opinion.
My vote - Jacobi (if he becomes re-elected) takes Banach as his Military Minister with Durden as Banach`s advisor, or put them in charge of the CAF (if that`s how it works, I`m not completely sure how the CAF ranking system works)
Of course my vote isn`t important to many, but if my voice is heard and considered by those that CAN affect what happens, then by all means I`m going to put my opinion out there.
One last thing. Coordination must be INTERNATIONAL if we are to fight the PEACE GC. I know this should be easier thanks to the FORTIS and EDEN alliances rising (Unless EDEN doesn't fight alongside us) but it must surely be accomplished. Communication to the individual, then the army, then the allys must be set in place.
This is why i have left Canada to find training elsewhere, the CAF will not take me as i do not have enough strength and staying in Canada is too slow going as training wars are far too infrequent.
So now i travel the world and so far have been able to fight 5 times every day since i have left; however, It would be nice if the government could somewhat subsidize my training as level 1 weapons and moving tickets get expensive...
Most people will not leave Canada and go on training trips, that is why it is essential that we get training wars in all the time. Argentina is doing a good job of that from what i have seen.
Just being out there for the brief time it has become apparent that our own fighting forces are deficient overall in comparison to Peace. In both number and training 🙁
