where do we go from here?

Okay, we lost FER and perhaps more importantly Romania lost Podolia and WSR. These are devastating losses. First, Romania has lost both of its high iron regions meaning that we are severely hampered on our ability to buy iron for manufacture of weapons. Secondly, we planned for months for our attack on FER and we saved more gold than we've ever used in any single attack and it still failed against the hordes of defenders. Even with PEACE forces spread thin by a coordinated attack by our allies they managed to come back and win all 3 battles. The prize for winning FER would have been the high iron region that is adjacent to FER and now that is also out of our reach.
So who is to blame for this? Nobody. Sure we could say that it is a lot of different things. I've heard that it's because PEACE had the audacity to not tell us when they were launching their attacks and that they happened to be on a day when we were doing War Games for half the day. I've heard that it's because PEACE cheated, which may be true but I don't know. I've heard that it's because nobody likes me ... which certainly seems true from the media ... but so what?
I had my Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and General of the Marines, my loyal and very accomplished top military adviser, Eugene Harlot, try to tender his resignation today. He wanted to fall on his sword and take blame for our loss today in a high level IRC room. I told him no ... that I would not accept his resignation because it is not his fault and that I would be depriving eUSA of one of its greatest assets to accept such an offer. But he was demoralized ... as am I. Over the last 2 days I have received more than 300 PMs (and I responded to most of them). I have been gearing up for this for weeks so we did not fail for lack of planning. I was messaging a bunch of other leaders and got commitments from many of them to send us troops today ... but it wasn't enough.
The reason why I think we lost is because we need more players to have higher combat strength. This was something that I have spoken about for a long time ... before I was President even. Our military has traditionally relied too much on tanks and less on individual soldiers and that has been the purpose of the War Games. Despite the fact that so many have whined about how they don't like war games. Let's revisit my article The Value Of War Games. In fact, I plan to move forward with our USA-Ireland War Games when we are able to reset them tomorrow.
With so many people who have the potential to raise their rank from frequent battles we stand to gain a lot from leveling them up. I'm at the point where I'm 50,000 battle points between levels and I'm only 24K into that next goal ... but newer players are much closer to that next level. This is where the Army comes into the picture. It used to be the middle point between the National Guard and the Marines and it has been the missing link for a while. However, this was one of the things that I had hoped to work on when I started my first term in office and I'm happy to say that we've been seeing some reform in these areas lately.
When I was first in the Army we traveled around the world and fought in all sorts of locales and got a lot of great experience while the government paid for moving tickets and sometimes for weapons too. At some point our military shifted more toward tanking, giving high ranked players Q5 guns and 80 gold to go to town on the wall. This practice, while effective, always seemed to leave so many people out of the wars which is why I wanted to get our war games working again. As you can see, real wars are very expensive to fight .. war games are not. I would like to see the Army scoop up these middle ground players and revitalize their interest in the game where they get to travel around and fight on a rotation basis and have the war games in the mean time between deployments.
I'm happy to say that General Armandez has stepped up to fill the role left by General Symrstar who served the Army with distinction for a long tenure. General Armandez has been working with Vice President Moishe, Secretary of Defense Leroy Combs, and the rest of the Joint Chiefs and they have been planning new ways to use the Army and the command structures of the various branches. They are exciting changes and I hope they will bring us more success and more fun as we continue with eRep. I have to commend all of our military for their performance over the last several weeks. They are truly an awesome fighting force.
In the mean time, we're broke and I have no regrets for leading this nation to the best of my ability. We need to rebuild our funds and come up with even better ways to use our resources. We will get through this and the next President will have a lot to build upon. We will rebuild. We are America (and so can you)!

First!
:/ bad day this was, maybe we can try again in a month or two...
The job isn't done yet.
Let's pull together again!
Colbert.
you broke the rules. you always do that
you always open the MPPS
😒
still, over 700K and we still lost??
KInda hard to believe that PEACE didnt cheat, even if we were against 10 of Russias allies.

Lt.General eUSMC
😑
It's not the end of the world
We've been here before.
Perhaps countries like Croatia, Sweden, Poland, and Canada can help out.
sukoidha
you where against ten MPPS
all ten Nations had only one target
you
700k isnt that hard to come back from, not at all
but if you saying we cheated makes you feel better, go for it
hogwash, give us the truth, you rushed it without any facts!!
We may have lost the day, but the war is far from over, Thank you Scrabman, lets get back to work.
Scrabman, I agree, we need more of our population to get involved. We need to do more ourselves to keep eAmericans active in the war games.
I expect to do my part in this.

13th!
On this occasion, listen to the President. We should work hard to rebuild and be ready for next time.
We may have lost, but we gave it our best shot. We didn't lose by much either, which says a lot considering we were up against 10 other nations. Lets get plugging away in the new war games and hopefully we can try this again soon.
"I've heard that it's because nobody likes me" - Mood swings? That would be the only logical explanation as to why the very people that elected you into office are now turning against you! 😛
.
Anyhow, Scrabman you got my vote mainly due to your commitment of reforming the army. I am glad you still stand by that campaign promise and I am even more thrilled that you are taking the right steps to ensure such reformation. Though we lost, I have never felt so excited. It's time we wave goodbye to our over dependence on tanks and focus on each and every single citizen and harnessing their potential strength.
.
Best of luck Scrabman and Armandez, do us proud and create the ultimate army. Hopefully it shall pave way to a far greater collective strength (something eUSA has been lacking for a loong time).
Agreed. Time to go back to work. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard, we came close, and next time we'll get them. Getting the army up and running will be huge. There we well over 30k fight in the battle for FER if several hundred more of our fighters had been more experienced soldiers we would have won the day.
Hell, I had never even used a weapon until today!
Excellent article up until the last paragraph. Lucid valid points but the last paragraph is why America continues to falter. We need to stop reaming ourselves and start respecting each other a bit more. The government needs to respect the people that elected them and the people need to respect their leaders. Until we can do this we will be doomed to fail.
Oops... that last paragraph seems to have disappeared while I was writing my post.
You still have Asturias in eSpain to provide for iron!
Scrabman, you may be the only ePresident ive had so far, but i doubt that there will be another ePrez as committed and full of morale as you. i started reading this completely demoralized, but now i think we can take them easily after we rebuild, best of luck to you!
btw, i think it's funny watching the people who are jealious of you try and impeach you
must... resist... temptation... to throw... words... back in your face
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I like Scrabman and he knows what he's doing. I really really like the war games and I fight no matter what my health, wellness and stock. I am a 100% loyal American and you CAN NOT change that! Keep doing what your doing, Scrab I support you. All you Scrab haters leave him alone nobody's perfect.
Thank you Rockeye. Your comments mean a lot to me as do others who share kind words. This is not an easy job to do and those who like to snipe and complain would have no ability to do this job for all the pressure and stress of it. I can't imagine how someone who is 16 or 17 years old can do this job and I have a whole new appreciation for the stress of it. I've been so on edge about this plan for the last month. Eugene and I put everything into this and now people who didn't do anything will come in and try to comment like they have a stake. Please.
Anyway, thank you.
my question is where were the weapons from the Government run weapon companies???
Hmmmm, I sent an applicant to join the army about a week and a half ago. I meet all the requirements (from what I can tell). Yet I got no respond. Now if you were me would joining the army be the first thing you would want to do? I don't think so. Think if this happened in real life, people sign up for the army and don't get a respond. What a waste that is. I hope we all get this together, soon.
You could stop failing for a change.
I appreciate your commitment scrab and know you put in a boatload of work and deal with a lot of crap from many people (myself included) but you should consider getting a pr guy or a teleprompter like the big O because when you say stuff like "people who didn't do anything will come in and try to comment like they have a stake" at the end of a sincere and good post you kill it.
All eAmericans have a stake in what goes on in eAmerica whether they spent 8 hours that day or 2 clicks. You ran for the job so you got to deal with the crap. My best advice is to take the hatemail with a grain of salt and let it go in one ear and out the other.
I wasn't able to contribute much, but I did what I could. I was disappointed it turned into a loss, but I am ready and willing to fight another day!
When was it, oh yea...
"I don't know where people get the idea that I have to hold hands with my political adversaries and sing kumbya." Scrabman
So in fact all who are not on his cabniet is a political adversary. This was my challenge.
Get off your cross.
Miserable defeat.
I am too small to fight but come tomorrow that comes to an end. I am behind you Scrab, lead us well. You will be hearing more from me I swear.
Unlike other unsuccessful war efforts, I believe we did our best and there's no blame to put on the administration. I hope the people will still vote for you next Pres election.
Just a quick observation from a new player - I have been playing for about 3 or so weeks, and have trained and worked everyday. I'm trying to do everything I can to make myself stronger so I can be a better soldier. I have even joined the National Guard.
The thing is, even with working everyday, my salary is still pretty low. Even with MOW, I still spend a lot of my money on food - therefore not a lot of money to buy weapons.
I did fight today, but dropping those +7's probably did nothing at all. I am still learning the game, but (and here is the point to my retarded rambling) I wish I would have had a couple of days to maybe try to save up some dough so I could have been prepared with a weapon! Instead, I blew my money on a moving ticket a few days ago to go from PA to FL in order to reap the benefits of the better hospital during the wargames. It probably wouldn't have made a huge difference, but if all of us newbies were on the same page and contributed, it could have impacted the battle today!
We lost becase PEACE cheated. We dont need more citizens involed, or more tanks. We need more hackers, to pull gold out of thin air.
Very sorry to see your bold moves fail, Scrabman. South Africa is still on your side (for what its worth) and will not give up the fight. We have intimate knowledge of the problems you face (poorly trained and equipped soldiers), and on top of that, our numbers are far smaller than yours. I am sure you will have no problem recovering your strength and resources to carry on the fight.
I too was disappointed in our recent fights against PEACE, but luckily our people understand that if we are to succeed, we must take risks, and these risks often fail. Respect is maintained however, if the cause is just as we now ours is.
Sorry to double post, but just read this line from Scrabman: "I can't imagine how someone who is 16 or 17 years old can do this job and I have a whole new appreciation for the stress of it. I've been so on edge about this plan for the last month."
I couldn't have said it better myself. I was prez of eSA for 2 incredibly busy and stressful months. I enjoyed serving the people, but was relieved to step down. Answering multiple PMs from everyone from mercs and diplomats to noobs asking for game advice was incredibly time-consuming, while dealing with enemy nations and criticism, often unfounded and based on rumors, was draining. I can only imagine having to run a country 15 times as large.
Much respect to you, Scrabman, from a friend and fellow president.
The only thing I have to say is that I don't blame anyone in the government for what happened. It was a great plan it just didn't pan out for some reason. I was happy to be a part of the attempt and will take part in the war games so I can help more in the future.
Thank you Scrabman for taking the thought-out steps you have taken to do this nation well during your terms. like you said, " We can rebuild. "
So, we lost. If anything, we should stop all this PR crap and be ready for when Russia decides to pay dues. If we can't take PEACE on the foreign front then how do you think we'll hold up on the home front. This PR system is turning people against each other to the point that we have become our greatest enemy. Full co-operation is not something to be asked, but to be understood as an inherent responsibility as a citizen of the state. There must be consequences for the traitors whose will faultered in their duty to eUSA. If such traitors go unheeded then we will be too busy gazing at foreign threats that we will be incapable of recognizing the knifes of the traitors spliting the country in two. Such recent actions only show that we are most obviously not in a place to squabble over personal issues when we have just been marked as a future Russian threat. Russia can only deal with so much before she realizes that a threat is best delt with early. Such worries me that I urge the citizens to accept the actions of the President and to move on as such actions were performed to the best of his ability and to the fullest capacity of his generals.
It has been very buggy all day, did anyone else get page loading errors? I believe this might have been the reason for our loss.
No offense to anyone, but Glados has came off as slimey to me before the war even started.
It's cool though, we'll live.
Scrabman your doing a fine job as our President. A lot better then I could do. Don't let this one lost get you down.
Hm? We came close to winning? Very interesting...
Still behind you Mr. President! Rebuild, we will. In the meantime, thanks for all you do. We will train in the upcoming war games, and come back stronger than ever.
IMO, too many eAmericans are bashing our President; many have been around for some time. I ask you: Did you all fight? Or did you sit back and watch, ready to chime in "I told you so," or "I saw this coming a mile away," after it was all over? We need to be united in support of the country in times of war, rather than engaging in public bickering.
@lenore - couldn't agree more. It's no time for bashing - like it or not, we elected the president. There is no room in war for political maneuvering... When it comes to war, we need to present a united front if we are to be successful.
Did we not fight in FER at 1/2 our military strength, thanks to the wargame overlap? And as a reaction attack, not a planned one on our own terms?
"So who is to blame for this? Nobody." --then a couple paragraphs later-- "The reason why I think we lost is because we need more players to have higher combat strength."
There's no one to blame here... except...well, Jane and John Doe!
Winners lose more often than losers do. Losers lose once and quit, because they can't bear to lose anymore. But winners dust themselves off, get better, and try again; they never quit. We did our best against a formidible opponent. We will learn, grow, become stronger and never quit. Thank you, president scrabman, for not giving up on us.
@Mad Merc, I got many errors today 2, errors or just blank pages.
