Presidential Elections, Part 1: Keep on Bruckin'
Ralph de Ver
This is Part 1 of a 2-part series leading up to the next Presidential Elections.
If you haven't yet heard it from anyone else, I would like to congratulate eCanadians on taking the first step towards becoming a true World Power in eRepublik; you have elected Bruck as Prime Minister of eCanada. This coming Election Day (April 5, 2009) I would like you to consider your next step: "Keep on Bruckin'". By keep on Bruckin' I mean re-elect Bruck as Prime Minister and show you recognize the multitude of great things he has accomplished during his short time in office.
Now I don't want to hear any "Bruck you"'s, "Bruck off"'s and "go Bruck yourself"'s, because while in office, the Bruckin' Broncho has truly grabbed the bull by the horns and done great things for our eNation. One order of business, a relatively simple but effective one, was appointing the Supreme Court of eCanada. It's a wonder this couldn't be accomplished before but Bruck the Protector made it one of his first tasks, and now we can sleep soundly at night knowing that criminals can now be tried in a court of law (wait...is there nighttime in eRep?).
Another order of business the Bruckin' Bronco passed was supporting our allies by launching an attack on PEACE's French boarder. The mission was very successful and firmed our relationship with ATLANTIS, stimulated the eCanadian economy and helped many citizens gain experience. During the battle Bruck also proved that our former military supply system was ineffective, took her out back just like Old Yeller, and roped a new military budget and supply system with the aid of JT Vanguard, General Coda and the Honourable 1ronman.
A third order of business was settin' up a metaphorical rodeo in Ontario; about time a Q5 Defense System was placed. Under the Bruck administration we can also expect a Q5 hospital in the near future. So you can see that Bruck by Bruck (read brick by brick) our Prime Minister is building a better, stronger eCanada.
A fourth and latest major milestone by the Bruckin' Bronco was hogtying numerous Hungarians in the March 25, 2009 Political Takeover (PTO) attempt. Bruck was decisive, quick to respond, and warded off the threat with calculated integrity, like eight seconds on a bull. How did it all pan out? First, Bruck did the most noble of gestures to ensure the Huns could not take over our presidency so quickly: Bruck motioned to have himself impeached. Since presidential impeachments can only be proposed once per week and congress unanimously voted 'no', Bruck bought eCanada precious time to counter the potential PTO actions had the Huns succeeded. Second, Bruck met with the leaders of every party to organize congress candidates. Through this organization Bruck secured 80% of the votes for eCanadian congresspeople without a bias to one specific party. All of these accomplishments are truly the work of a great Prime Minister.
In summary, Bruck has accomplished many great things during his short time in office and throughout these events he has had the support of government and the support of the people. So why change this? Why stop something that has so much positive momentum? Why try to fix something that ain't broke? Honestly, what other new administration can say that they accomplished so much in only one term? These are just a few reasons why we should keep on Bruckin'.
On April 5, 2009, I want you to keep on Bruckin' and re-elect Bruck as Prime Minister of eCanada.

"congress unanimously voted 'no'"
Actually, from what I heard, A few people DID vote yes.
But on the forums where it was debated Congress agreed no
How was it noble? There was no chance in hell that the motion would succeed...
Voted
Make Canada a Brucking Awesome place: Vote Bruck in the next elections!
@Dom: it was noble because Bruck put his presidency on the line to buy our nation some time in the event of a successful PTO. Congress could have voted 'yes'.
@DE: Yes, some voted 'yes', but the vote was a unanimous 'no'.
Bruck off!
Great article!
Voted and subscribed.
Let us keep on being a Brucking awesome eCountry! 🙂
Wow thats a lot of puns, all in all it was a good article and secured my vote.
new to the eRep. This was quite informative of how things work around here.

Voted.
Bruck is the greatest hero in the history of life.
never knew that bruck was a verb
knowing this only makes me wanna vote for him more
As soon as I can vote expect it a Bruck vote.
Looks like you can now, brutha. Thank you for your support.
Good work so far Bruck... excellent job to thwart those Hungarians! Now let's see if we can whip the French!
All hail Bruck! Great article, great term from our leader. Well done, and keep on Bruckin'
Aside (Bruck, we should work on creating a black list of employees for our business owners of political and economic criminals. Not that it'd be overly effective seeing as how there's no hiring process. But it would make things more difficult and help force them to move:0)
Hehehe two levels thanks to that war with France and enough Wellness to keep me going.
Keep on Bruckin!
If general bruck ends the asinine war with France, then I'll vote for him.
Weigh all the candidates positives and negatives before deciding.
Tie-breaker judging for SPABA:
The grammar and structure of this article was all-round decent though an inconsistent jump has seemed to be made from humour to seriousness. Otherwise, it flows reasonably well. The article employs an innovative catchphrase to keep the reader interested and even expands upon it later on. The article provides reasons to support its main theme but fails to respond to any criticisms slightly limiting its effectiveness. Overall, it is a well-written endorsement that is backed up with evidence though slightly lacking (possibly because of a lack of the promised Part II?).
38/50
lol. Agreed. Part 2 is long overdue. RL issues kept me from it. It will, however, still be released.
Here are the further scores to decide the tie-breaker for Best Article Awar😛
Judge #2
Grammar/Stylistics:
Great sentence structure, and complexity, makes for some very advanced writing. "Night-time" was spelt wrong and the wrong "border" was used.
Persuasiveness/Veracity:
Definatly presents many good examples/situations of Bruck performing well and even embelishs on some them (the impeachment was 5-15, not unanimous, but maybe with exluding rouge congressmen).
Creativity/Originality:
Very creative, excellent use of "Bruck" but couldn't think of any more nicknames than Bruckin' Broncho? This article was very creative and originial, definatly nothing else like it, don't stop
Total: 43.5/50
Judge #3
Keep On Bruckin’ - 42/50
The article is successful in conveying its message by using humour and keeping the material lively and entertaining. He who says the realm of politics is boring need only read this article for proof of the contrary. Written in the days leading up to the Presidential election this article probably helped to sway/educate some voters and that’s a good thing. A couple errors in spelling and grammar but a highly enjoyable article nonetheless.

Ralph takes second place, congrats!
