[Nathan Woods... Country President?]
![USA](http://www.erepublik.net/images/flags_png/S/USA.png)
Ian John Locke IV
Yeah that's what I thought when he first told me about his intent to run and his desire for me to be his VP. I thought, Jeebus Christos, we have Scrabby, and DF and possibly JJ and now Nate?! What is going on in this crazy effed up world?!!!
At first I was polite, ... "I'll consider it..." etc. Then, however, I checked out his platform. In that one Google Doc was everything that I had been looking for in a Presidential Candidate to help run this month. I felt so excited about this campaign I felt that I had to accept the position as VP. I had to talk to a few friends first, though. I went and talked to some buddies in the AAP, then USWP, UIP and NP (IRC rooms) and they all reinforced what I had been thinking... it's a game... have fun with it! So I decided, yes, I'll have fun with it.
Well you all read Nate's article right? (Well if you didn't, you should, here it is **linky**... I suggested the name btw 😉
)
[A Little About Me]
Well I'm about 8 months old (222 months IRL) and have done a great many things with my eLife.
/me rambles about early days in the AAP...
In my first weeks as a citizen, I joined the United States Workers Party as Gillz was the mayor and suggested I check them out. Roby Petric was the Party President (if that's any indication of the approximate time period) and I believe Archibald was CP. About a week later was mayoral races and I worked to help Aubra Elvie achieve that status as he was USWP. Well after trying to help, I got blown off a few times by the party in general and left. I got a message from Uncle Sam and joined the AAP, which, at that time, was being lead by Evan Bayh. I joined the party and the forums and became very active. I learned more there than anywhere else, especially from Evan, Sam and Citizen HEM. I eventually took up the role, under Citizen HEM's party presidency (V1) as Director of Public Relations. PR was a big deal for me and the party experienced a slight boom. Later, Sam took over as HEM resigned and I took on some more positions in the Recruitment Departments and PR and a few other places.
Eventually I wanted to run against Uncle Sam but he left the country and forgot to sign back up. I won that election but resigned it to Sam, allowing I become Co-PP, causing John Jay to leave for the UCP. After that month I made a real push for AAP PP and got it in a 2 or 3 vote win over Uncle Sam. The next month the AAP experienced a population boom similar to Citizen HEM as well as a congressional representation boom. We secured 9 new seats. The next month I won a landslide. Some players decided not to run for congress again and we let some lower party players in to run. Our numbers decreased to 8 (in congress). After this I firmly planted the party leadership in the ground and the population boom took off. We over took the UCP and have been nearing the CvP.
I have tightened relations with the USWP and have taught a great many party leaders how they should work under someone else as this (as I have been saying for over a month now) is my third and final term.
/me starts talking about actual qualifications besides adding over 100 members to a political party ....
I have been elected to the United States Congress three times. Twice in New Jersey and once in Missouri. In my first term, working with One Eye, an advisor to congress at the time, I secured for New Jersey the next Q5 hospital to come out of production, which has come to fruition only a couple days ago.
[Did I vote for PANEC?]
Let me tell you something, IRL I am a college student hoping to receive my degree in Mathematics. Clearly numbers sway me easily.
When I looked at the numerical and logical proofs supporting PANEC and the statistics they gathered using the CTPA and the arguments they had (hence why it is called a Compromise) I was swayed to support this. If you think about it though, everyone compares this game to real life... well most people. Compare it now, PANEC falls far short of Real Life taxes in the US... that aside....
[Did I vote for MEEHEECO?]
Yes. But not the circumstances that played out. I voted that we only take three regions for security purposes and use one for constant resistance wars.
[Why am I bothering with all this useless meandering?]
Well in the past, most VPs have dealt with the President's cabinet in terms of organizing them and keeping lines of communication open between them and the President.
As Public Relations director, I am an expert at keeping the lines of communication open.
As VP you have to know how to lead a group of people without having an in-game title, I've done that when Uncle Sam and I lead the AAP together for that one month.
PANEC and MEEHEECO are two pressing and important issues in the daily lives of Americans. You deserve to know the positions of the VP on these issues. I may not be leading the country, but I will most certainly be helping.
[Apologies and End Notes]
I apologize that this article was so long

lol, nice article. too many sacking's if you will 😉
Good luck guys... hope to see this great team in office working as well as they are working now. I can attest to their symbiosis
Thanks Chisholm.. that was meant to keep some lulz in there.
Ricky I appreciate the support.
Mega Market, we do appreciate your compliments and you're right. We've been working almost without a hitch. Although that is not to say that we haven't had disagreements over somethings. We've just been able to work through them well enough to keep our appearances smooth.
ah yes, I love Monty Python.
Thank you Daisy for picking up on that one 😉
Was waiting for someone to get it 😛
The reason I didn't join the AAP is because of stuff like this. Take Uncle Sam, who's definitely not "far-left" but is a consistent member (who won as CVP and then as a Libertarian). Or take yourself, the party chair, teaming up with a member of the Nationalist Party.
I mean, what's the point of being a member of a party when the party holds absolutely no ideological convictions whatsoever? If anything, it shows that the AAP has no real political base and is basically a flop house party. It would also explain why the AAP seats only 4 congressman.
Either way, good luck on your run.
Longbaugh right there you are wrong.
Uncle Sam did not win because of the CvP or Libs. He was nominated, both times, by the AAP and also by the CvP and Libs. Both time their party presidents were swayed by his platform so much so that they felt endorsing him was the best option.
Also, since you haven't even seen Nathan's platform yet, you would not realize the clearly leftist influence I've had on him.
All of this being said, you are clearly one of the players who notoriously takes this game too seriously and ruins it for a great many people. In case you had not happened to notice, PANEC was a compromise formed by TWO conservatives and ONE lefty and it has still been bombasted by the conservative parties as being too liberal.
Guess those two conservatives are flops too eh?
Oh well thank you for the good wishing.
I support Nathan for president. Just anything to make sure JJ isn't pres.
Whoop
I love the Monty Python reference. Rock on.
Nice article. Best of luck in the elections.
Also, I especially appreciated your bio. Its good for me to hear how people have gotten involved and become major players in the game.
Thanks guys!
Heymans, I've been trying to moderate that same sentiment on the AAP forums.
Astron, Monty Python rocks.
Tim, thanks again. It's good to be a mentor 😉
Lol you got sacked from Monty Python
