Giving Voice to Americans
scrabman
The eUSA is extraordinarily fortunate to have an “embarrassment of riches” when it comes to great minds that are willing to contribute their time, effort and intelligence to the success of the nation. It would take several walls of text to comprehensively recognize all of the rank and file citizens who, whether it be on the eUSA Forums, IRC or in the Media that have contributed facts, observations and quality ideas on a broad range of topics: from military strategy to economic policy, from business development to international diplomacy, from citizen affairs to game mechanics, and all points in between. While it may lack the prestige of an awards ceremony, let me simply extend to you a very sincere “Thank you!” It is critical that you know that your contributions, big and small, are both highly appreciated and, more importantly, integral to our success as an eNation.
Perhaps the greatest challenge we face as a community in providing authentic recognition to the many that are willing to contribute is the lack of amplification. While as a congressional representative or a high ranking member of a given administration, several dozen citizens are given an opportunity to give voice to their ideas in our in-game version of the “bully pulpit”, the Halls of Congress or the Oval Office, exclusion becomes the rule simply for lack of positions. This challenge is further intensified by the long standing practice of placing active congressional representatives, who, by virtue of their office, are inherently granted a voice in planning, in cabinet or consultative positions.
In the past several months there has been a substantive effort in Congress to discuss and deliver a consensus for the creation of a Committee system which will provide a continuation of thoughtful discourse and debate on specific topics among active congressional representatives. This is an idea which is long overdue, and, by my estimation, required to provide for the opportunity to include the best and the brightest, that are not holding elected office, to apply for roles within the cabinet; therefore expanding the breadth and quality of the information and marketplace of ideas by which the eUSA will thrive in the coming months.
This is not to say that most of the congressional representatives that are currently in Cabinet posts are not accomplishing great things, their willingness and extreme effort on behalf of their constituents AND their nation are to be honored and appreciated, and will continue to be as long as they are willing to contribute to solutions that benefit the eUSA.
However, it is time to open the door for new voices and new ideas in Cabinet level positions, it is time for your voice to be heard America…and a focal part of my administration will be to identify, recruit and include as many fresh and experienced voices as possible. I believe that the eUSA government is never to be operated in a vacuum, isolated from a citizenry with so great a willingness to serve. Interested and invested citizens should be able to play an active role in developing policy and I will try to find a way to do so whether it is by a Congressional sub-committee or an Executive Branch Committee to propose ideas that can be sent to Congress.

Scrabman, your policies are amazing, and you are very correct indeed that there are many citizens who need their voice heard!
I support Scrabman/MedyPi for President!
lol Daks
Well stated, as usual. Thumbs up and best of luck on the election.

More committees? Is this the USWP answer to everything?
Scrabman: I like you personally. I consider your party electorally allied to mine [UIP]. But seriously, sometimes I imagine belonging to the USWP would be like having to listen a particular music track that you like, stuck on repeat continuously, for seven months.
[Imagined debate in future Congressional Subcommittee on Grain Production forum]
-"Raise the import tax 35%!"
-"NO LOEWR IT!"
-"We earnestly need to protect our local producers from foreign competitors!"
-"NO> Me wantz FREE TRADE. As I ama CONSERVITIVE"
-"THIS ISN'T RL! THIS IS A GAME!"
-"Shut up. I hate all of you."
Is more "discourse" really what we need?
No. This is more about a voluntary committee of common citizens to come up with ideas to propose to Congress. Thus, giving more people a voice. This is not about more beauracracy. We have enough of that. LOL!

Try applying not being a douchebag for preaching about it >_>
Re: I will try to find a way to do so whether it is by a Congressional sub-committee or an Executive Branch Committee to propose ideas that can be sent to Congress.
Would this include a justice system, national laws and a national police force to enforce them? What about an eFBI and an eCIA?
@ Mr. Bosch - no. And we already have a CIA. I don't see any benefit to having a national police force as there is no enforcability. We will have a Justice system after this weekend in the eUSA Forums but it is a weak branch as it is limited in it's reach.
@ Supernatural - you're obviously a slow learner. How do you think that trolling the Administrators of the eUSA Forums will get you unbanned? Right now I'm just not seeing it happen and people have stopped asking if you can come back. Nobody is crying dude.
@ Hutch - as someone who does not currently have a position in government this should interest you quite a bit. Your choice though.
Touche, touche, touche. I'm not trolling, and as far as I'm considered, you hold a permanent grudge agaisnt me. I'm not getting unbanned in the near future, and I'm leaving this country anyways.
It was a three person decision to keep you banned Supernatural. You helped quite a bit by your reaction upon committing your special act of defiance and getting banned.
Good ideas.
You and Killing Time never liked me, and MedyPi has gotten less friendly. Any other three people (with the exception of Meghan; she'd ban half of us anyways) would not have made the same desiscion.
Lulz, my act of defiance was trying to find justice... and apparently the forum lacks it.
The USWP has not listend to the cries of the people for lower taxes and less regulation. Now they believe that the best way to solve this problem is increase committies so that the people can be heared. This is not the way to go, just encage the people to speak on their own individual acord, not in some council where their individual voices will be trumped by masses. That is not the voice to Americans that is the voice of a government created council telling them what they already want to hear from a sociolist majority.
TheSupernatural and his eDrama goes over the top with troll factor.
Don't be fooled by the whining as a number of eUSA citizens in the forum believed the Admins were overly patient and giving way too many chances to the "Supah". What he is "Supah" at doing is making a nuisance of himself with troll factor. Shame on you Supah. Now get back to your momma's loving breast. Its feeding time.

Am Selling Q1 HOUSE for 4,5 gold...who is interested...PM me...
Supah = awesome; I went two-click, so I missed his ban. However, the levity provided by Supah is necessary in this game, in my opinion. It's like a small puppy, makes you laugh when it gets confused and runs into walls. Why would you want to kick that?
Anyway, best of luck scrab, and I think you should assign SADD folks to individual committees as 'staff' to provide detailed analysis and data for the committees to use. This way, you can elevate simple discourse with actual data.
yup thats right! Voted!

Parties and the lobbying system. This is already the best way, and is already made throught the parties, and the press. I prefer a greater voice in the parties, and thereby the use of a representative voice in the political halls. This expedites the process, and allows greater progress.
