Disadvantage eAmerica
Maxmillian VonWillebrand
This week a growing concern for the eAmerican Economy has once again focused on the lack of the Iron Industry as the highest productivity of Iron in any state is Medium. To be honest it is hard to believe that the eUSA has no Iron higher than Medium and even more shocking when you look at the Raw Material Map and see no Iron rated higher than medium for all of North America. (http://wiki.erepublik.com/images/1/18/Raw_mat_map.png) See Wiki Raw Materials Map here.
In eRepublik the games with High Iron Productivity are:
Brazil
China
Greece
India
Russia
Spain
Ukraine
You would think the New World would have more resources than Oil, Wood and Grain, but what makes this even more shocking is when you look at a list of Iron Production countries in Wikipedia you would see that the USA is ranked 7th and Canada is ranked 9th in the world. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_iron_production) See Wikipedia List here. Brazil, China, India, Ukraine and Russia make sense as they are all in the top 10 on the Wiki list. Yet, Greece and Spain, you have to be joking! Greece is ranked at 25th and Spain is not even on the list! Noticeable countries missing are Australia, USA, Canada, Sweden & South Africa (Yes, Sweden and South Africa are in the top 10!) Go look at the link if you do not believe me.
So why do these countries not have any High Iron? Why limit the New World to only 2 High Iron Regions? There are only 10 High Iron Regions and Romania now has control of what, 4 of them? So to kick this dead horse again... Seems like the Romanian Admins have set this world up in their favor from the word GO. For me having the Iron spread out as it does in the Real World would make this place a bit more enjoyable for all and make the world that much more of a true competition. Yet the question that begs to be answered is that the Romanian Admins have a GOD COMPLEX and are enjoying being in control of this little world of theirs... Unfortunately they SUCK at it!!!
What would it take for the Admins to level the playing field or at least give the top 10 a few High Iron Regions? Hell, is Greece got so should the 24 countries higher than them that are on the list!!! Vote this article up to help it get the Admins Attention!
Thank You for Your Time!

Maybe its time to attack somebody and get what we need.
I think the resource limits are good because they force 2 things to occur:
a) It forces trade between nations who have excess supplies because domestic demand is swamped
b) If forces nations to consider war to obtain those resources, thus spuring demand for weapons, defense systems, wood, etc...
The current president is wanting to maintain a lasting peace for awhile.
Well, peace or war, one way or the other, we need to do something...
interesting but its not like US citizens cant go to one of those high iron region and build their company. Once the company is built, all you need to do is import it back to the states. I have proposed this plan to the president several months ago where the USA government will start several iron companies on high iron resources and ship it back to states for those government owned weapons companies. It would make things much cheaper than buying iron from the market.
@Kreamz:
And how exactly did this proposal go over? Have you considered sending the same message to the new administration?
@Kreamz:
US Tax dollars should not be spent on Socialist ideals. If the US has a shortage of Iron, prices will rise and that in turn will spur corporate action to obtain those profits from the US market. Competition will bring prices back down and all will be good.
But having Government run companies puts US companies and workers out of business and creates a shortage of revenue for the Government as well as high unemployment.
Let Free Markets solve any shortages, not governments.
@Max
As far as I know, it hasn't been implemented yet. I got a reply stating that he is thinking about it. I might consider sending it to Justinious.
@Alby
The government operated companies will not sell anything that they produce on the market thus not harming any business that citizens owned companies may have.
BTW this isn't my idea, I got it from Indos. Have you ever wondered why sometimes they have weapons selling for 1 cent? Those companies belongs to the government. that get their iron resources from Russia and China. Basically every weapons they've made in their companies they stashed it thus not crashing their market. I think that the USA should start looking outside of the box instead of always looking inside to get the economy and its many problems back on track.
