All Quiet On The Western Front
Bob Boblo
It is now 3 days since the general election, and yet no word, no announcement, not even the squeak of a mouse coming from the new UKRP government. They've just won an election, and won power back for the first time since May, but nothing to say about it.
No thank you to its voters
No statement of intent
No announcement of plans
Thankfully, I can assure everyone that they are active in congress, and are assembling the cabinet, and some form of steady progress is beind made and organisation is in place.
And yet still no word.
They say silence speaks volumes. Lets hope this is just a mere speech impediment.

Sneaky capitalists! Keeping their evil plans hush
Remember that I ain\'t in Congress any more... 😉
Sorry Bob. Some of us are too busy discussing in the HoC to say \"Thank you\"
What\'s more important to UK?
A \"Thank you for voting us\"
or
\"We\'re working on the future\"
If you choose Option 1, maybe people should consider what PCP actually believes in.
If you ask yourself that question, try this one:
What\'s more important to the UK?
1 - A small number of already wealthy people making more money on their own terms.
2 - A stable and secure economy that ensures that the consumers get a reliable and affordable product.
If you choose option 1 and you\'re a UKRP member, chances are you\'re in the wrong party.
Sorry, been overwhelmed by the incredibly interesting developments in foreign affairs this past half week. I\'ll post some information for people shortly.
\"What\'s more important to UK?
A \"Thank you for voting us\"
or
\"We\'re working on the future\"\"
...it wouldn\'t take that long to make a press release...
Yeah, 5 mins maybe?
Oh and UKRP made that huge fuss about government transparency and communication with the people, well I think you can see what I\'m getting at there...
I think everyone\'s too busy reading what\'s actually being discussed in the House of Commons – thanks to the UKRP – to be bothered about the trickle-feed of information they used to be offered in press releases.
I\'ve personally had plenty of time to be doing things, despite being involved in many, many positions that require a large amount of time. And quite frankly, a statement of intent and a thankyou would take, like Widdows said, 5 minutes. If you\'re having trouble working out a statement of intent, then that says one of two things; either that the PCP has done such a bloody good job of this country that there\'s nothing more to be done, or the party/president in power is incapable of running it. But let me tell you, the PCP has more than enough things it could do.
ha
\"Nothing more to be done\"
There\'s always something more to do.
\"Party/president in power is incapable of running it\"
Are you serious? He\'s been in office for two days.... I\'m guessing that KIA\'s first two days in office were spent getting used to the system.
Hopefully everyone notices something about this:
All the PCP members are complaining. At this point, all they can do is whine. Hence, articles such as this. Notice how only PCP members are complaining. I don\'t see Hassan saying anything like this.
PCP is just angry that they:
1. Lost the position of most seats in Congress
2. Lost the president spot
Now, the plan for PCP is point out EVERY SINGLE LITTLE FLAW that occurs during the UKRP Presidency.
On the other hand this \"criticism\", which is completely partisan and frankly quite sad, shows how desperate you lot are to have a go – even when there is nothing to criticise.
Welcome to having an opposition
If you\'re saying there was never an opposition to the Communist regime then your party leader owes many of an apology for false accusations.
\"Now, the plan for PCP is point out EVERY SINGLE LITTLE FLAW that occurs during the UKRP Presidency.\"
And what\'s wrong with that? I\'m pretty sure you did that for us. Isn\'t that the whole point of an opposition government? And why can\'t a government make a press release AND work on the future? Is multi-tasking that hard? Also, KIA managed to make a press release the day after he was electe😛 http://www.erepublik.com/press_release-36121.html.
May I also say that we\'re only stating the facts. Fact: Rayf hasn\'t made a press release yet. Fact: It doesn\'t take that long to make a press statement. The rest is simple 2 + 2.
I question not only as a PCP member but as a concerned voter why we haven\'t heard from our President yet, that\'s all.
UKRP can be bothered to rebuttle this article but not to thank their voters.
What does that tell you....
@William
\'shows how desperate you lot are to have a go – even when there is nothing to criticise.\'
A tad hypocritical?
Umm....Stan?
We pointed out the IMPORTANT flaws....not the \"why won\'t you thank us even though we are the ones who voted PCP?\" flaws.
@Bob: And I alone am \"UKRP\" now? As in, all of it? UKRP as a group chooses all of what goes into most press releases. In other words, \"UKRP (aka ME apparently)\" won\'t be releasing a statement on my own.
http://www.erepublik.com/press_release-40481.html
Happy now?
No, Bob\'s quite right. I should\'ve written that earlier. I apologize for not being more on the ball in this regard. I can assure you, if the rest of the weeks of my term are anything like this first half week, I\'ll have more than enough to fill pages-long weekly briefings.
\"Nothing more to be done\"
There\'s always something more to do.
That was the point 😛
Deathtoll cannot handle some opposition? This is not just complaining this is drawing attention to something that should be resolved and now it has.
This article was satire, you should always bear that in mind when dealing with Bob and the Freudian Slip. However, what I was trying to imply was that the PCP had accomplished a hell of a lot. I think that Rayf will certainly be a good president; no doubt about it, he\'s devoted enough for it. I understand how much there\'s been going on this week, I\'ve had the same experience, I expect you have it doubled! Anyway, I don\'t personally think that there\'s anything wrong with pointing out where the PCP have been better than the UKRP, which includes our party being prepared to go the extra mile to make sure everybody knows what we want to do and things like that.
\"This article was satire, you should always bear that in mind when dealing with Bob and the Freudian Slip\"
I love it when people make excuses for me XD
I\'d say I tend to hit a fine line inbetween satire and seriousness.
In Deathtoll\'s defense, he did have a valid point in trying to defend me. I *was* extremely busy and somewhat overwhelmed in these first few days, and his points to defend my public \"silence\" were valid.
However, Bob and others had a very valid point, as well. I take this position extremely seriously, and one thing that I firmly believe in is the philosophy on Presidential accountability often attributed to Harry Truman: the buck stops here. Ultimately, I\'m responsible for the fate of the UK - even after V1 gives Congress more direct power in-game. I\'m accountable. So my lack of public communication in-game was a serious deficiency that needed to be addressed.
Now it has been.
Good to see how seriously you take things, and as I said, that was a damn great article!
Hrm, shall we count the number of articles KIA wrote last month?
\'All the PCP members are complaining. At this point, all they can do is whine. Hence, articles such as this. Notice how only PCP members are complaining. I don\'t see Hassan saying anything like this.

I\'m not angry I missed out on presidency, I\'m gutted but not angry and the same could be said about congress.
Oh and of course we\'re going to point every little flaw, I think you\'ll find that\'s what you lot did in opposition so why can\'t we? Hypocritical much?
Mr Sneak\'s press release was little more than gloating about his election victory: Mr Drayson\'s, on the other hand, includes the announcement of cabinet, including new ministries (not just some lazy comment about submitting applications to him) and addresses a number of issues surrounding the release of version 1.
I, for one, think that Mr Drayson\'s response has destroyed this \"article\" and its author and supporters should rightly feel humbled, and frankly quite silly.
Look at the next press release 😉 In the first one he asks for applicants and then announces his cabinet on the 7th.
I find it quite ironic that Rayf has accepted that he could have done better and then moved on while others try to condemn the opposition for bringing this to attention and then thanking Rayf once the action was taken.
Personally I think it\'s just a case that the kind of show boating and gloating that your Mr Sneak engaged in after the previous elections is simply beneath our current Prime Minister: who announced his cabinet on the fourth, some three days earlier than his predecessor.
The cabinet isn\'t meant to be complete until the 7th, and notice that Rayf does in fact say that it\'s not complete yet.
Dear ppl of E-UK,
don\'t listen to this scam. Every intelligent and educated person can see this is yet another slander of a frustrated party towards it\'s major opponent. They cannot stand the fact that they lost and that they are losing members and voters. That is why they try to use their last weapon. Slandering on a new government that\'s only in power for 2 days.
I ask you to all make you own conclusions out of this, but mine are quickly made: a party that uses such low methods does not deserve my vote

\"They cannot stand the fact that they lost and that they are losing members and voters.\"
So, having MoD (and under-MoD), MoFA, Chancellor of the Ex-chequer, MoEd and MoW (that\'s five ministers and an undersecretary) is losing members and voters?
\"So, having MoD (and under-MoD), MoFA, Chancellor of the Ex-chequer, MoEd and MoW (that\'s five ministers and an undersecretary) is losing members and voters?\"
You have those things thanks only to the good nature of the Rt Hon Prime Minister: the very same Prime Minister that this \"article\" criticises.
As I said already, this article is satire. It\'s pointing out something we\'d like to see while humourously pretending to be outraged at it. It\'s arguable that we have those things thanks ONLY to the good nature of Rayf. They\'re the best people qualified. Any PM who was even slightly reasonable would know that.
Some people commenting need to read the article again, your blowing this out of proportion. (And its been resolved anyways).
This wasn\'t an attack on Rayf nor was it agressive, it was a general criticism of UKRP, and it was a valid point.
KIA was not golating, he was thanking his voters, as soon as he was elected. He announce the cabinet on the 7th because that is when new ministers start work. Detaiks of new ministries were/are detailed by the MoI (introduced by PCP)
This was an important criticism because communication between government and the people is important.
This has been resolved so those voicing their disaproval at this article need not do so anymore
This falls short of the complete retraction that is required, Boblo.
Why is a complete retraction required William? the article was true at the time it was written in its key facts. You don\'t see many newspapers retracting articles because the situation has changed.
