Lamia, Greece- Greek soldiers prepare for what may be their final stand tomorrow against the invading Turks tomorrow. In the beginning of this conflict it looked as if the war would be a teeter totter battle between the two nations and that led to the Turkish congress becoming the first to deny a president’s proposal for war. After that however the U.S. and several other nations dissolved their mutual protection pacts with Greece and on the 19th all but Romania who is still a formidable threat to Turkey had dissolved their pacts and the time was right for Turkey to invade. The president declared war and congress approved this time by a large margin.
Turkey struck quick winning several key offensive battles to keep the Greeks from going on the offensive. Up until today the Greeks have not had the chance to fight on Turkish ground and they still do have a chance to gain some land before the clock hits zero today but the way this war has been going it seems unlikely. Yesterday for the first time the Greeks managed to repel the Turks from marching onto the streets of Lamia in a 330 fight battle the second largest of the war right behind the famous battle of Crete, Greece had won both.
The Greeks appear tired though. Even with the huge moral boost and the fact that there are only three soldiers in some Turkish regions the Greeks have not been able to put up more then fifty fights in any region. They may be planning for a last second invasion which would be very effective in the lesser defended regions but if they want to avoid having to make another defensive stand like they did yesterday it is key they win on the offensive today.
With the fight for freedom module nowhere in sight it looks like the possibility of Turkey fighting two wars at once is non existent. However there is still a chance that the Greeks will revolt when Israel does but the Greeks just do not seem as motivated, maybe because they have not last the war yet. Either way Turkey is going to be a hot zone to watch. Now that they control most of Greece they are one of the most populated countries in Erepublik and may pose a threat to neighboring Bulgaria. Now that they share a border with Turkey the Mediterranean Alliance must address the threat of the Turkish war machine. Their numbers may decrease as the old Greek defenders leave for new lands but there can be no guarantees and even if they do leave Turkey will still be a major power in Europe.

The Turkish war machine = mercenaries
Maybe the Greeks could retreat to Bulgaria and fight off the Turks there. It\'ll be like smooshing ham and mayonaise between two buns, Bulgaria w/ former Greeks vs. the Turkish forces.
@TGN
mercenaries or not they got the job done and now they will have more workers to boost their economy
@ Robert
Romania and the current greeks could not get it done no way Bulgaria could win even with the former greeks.
\"Turkey hired way too many mercenaries, spent a lot of gold that probably wasn\'t theirs, and will get screwed the first chance GRR can vote for their own president.\"
Fix\'d.
You know that their war with Bulgaria was canceled, right?
@Desertfalcon
\"mercenaries or not they got the job done and now they will have more workers to boost their economy\"
They now have hostiles citizens who are going to try to takeover Turkey from inside. Greece had a serious problem with money thanks to the last president, now they \"have cleaned\" their economy thanks to Turkey. Now, they only have to win the next elections where all their people can vote, because there are more Greeks than Turks (I saw the numbers some weeks ago, but I don\'t think Turkey have increase their numbers).
A second Germany? I don\'t think so, Greece don\'t want to ruin the country in revenge. They want to have a new country without monetary problems...
@zhuge Liang
real turks or not Eturkey will still have a lot of people and be a force to be reckoned with. Even if they are just staying to take over the country at least they are staying and there fore working jobs and possibly fighting in wars. The face of Turkish politics may change along with the leaders but Eturkey will still be a strong country.
The Turks are not a threat to the Mediterranean Alliance. Some powerful neutral countries are there, including eSpain.
