[Irish Govt] Our Side of the Story

Day 4,624, 05:24 Published in USA Ireland by Nerusia
Dear USA,

I am writing this article as a long-time friend of your nation and as a representative of the eIrish people. I won't lie to you and will speak openly as to what has transpired over the past few days between our nations and our allies, how we fit into the equation and how I do not wish to see our relations sour further than the point we have currently reached.

From where I stand, this whole debacle between our nations kicked off on July 14th when I asked if USA would be willing to replace Poland in our cores. Poland are currently invited guests in our regions of Cork and Mayo and they have been nothing short of great friends to Ireland and we are forever in their debt. The reasoning behind their presence in our cores is economic benefit. Polish country bonuses in these regions provide Ireland with greater production capabilities and we have reaped great rewards from such an arrangement. Unfortuntely their time in Ireland is coming to an end as the determination in these regions has near peaked and our ability to maintain their presence is becoming doubtful for this.

Due to their pending removal, I set out to aquire a replacement who would provide Ireland with the same benefits as our Polish friends. Due to the complexity of our regions being occupied and our artery region of Shannon being occupied, we would require a nation that borders us to step in. That nation being the United States of America.

Shortly after this enquiry was sent, the following post appeared on your public forums.

We were confused.
We were frustrated.
We hadn't a clue what we had done to warrant such actions.

Despite numerous appeals to see what evidence there was of us seeking to agitate Asterian action within USA, nothing has been presented to us as a Government.

Again this has made us feel confused and frustrated.

This sort of frustration led to our CP's Article where he questions what the hell is going on because as our CP for the past 2 months and a member of government for well before this, he has no idea as to what actions we as a people had made towards your nation.

Similarly, I had no idea what had transpired between our nations at this point of time as to make us sit in your crosshairs as a hostile nation.

My President and myself (Minister of Defence/Irish Loudmouth) were and are still a bit baffled as to what justification there are.

Last night, your President, Tyler Bubblar finally got around to engaging in a dialogue with myself regarding our current situation.

Whilst still witholding the evidence, he gave me very vague information as to what this evidence shows. Based off what he has eluded to me - I can confidently deny any involvement by myself and by our Country President in any such talks with Asteria with regards to hostile activitiy towards the United States of America.

Whilst these talks were undergoing, we both were in fact in negotiations with Romania of which both sides walked away without a deal as we refused to cooperate with them on their terms (USA was never ever mentioned in these talks). The failure of our talks and willingness to cooperate with Asteria resulted in our nation being wiped from the map. Does our tough stance here make it look like we as a Government were cooperating with Asteria and looking act out against a member of CODE?

Furthermore, as mentioned above, we turned to USA to assist us with economic bonuses. If we wanted to avail of your economic resources - why would we also look to have them removed from you through Asterian hostile actions? This does not make sense.

I am sorry that what has transpired here has led to your departure from CODE. CODE is our family too despite our departure. Our departure which stemmed from reasons much similar to your own about ways in which the alliance operated.

In March 2019, Ireland was one of the first countries involved in your liberation.

Ireland was one of the first countries to reach out to USA looking to renew the friendship between our people after the invasion of your nation in 2018.

We as a nation stood by your side in your darkest of hours.

The Irish Government, nor the Irish people should not pay the price for what has gone on behind both of our backs.

If you choose to embargo us or choose to invade us, that is your discretion but just know that it was for all the wrong reasons.

Signed,

Nerusia

Irish Minister of Defence
