[Activity Check] Free Goods - Week 35
NoTie112
Dear citizens of the eNetherlands,
The Activity Check is for statistical purposes to offer citizens a very simple way to show 'they're still around' and get some goods to help them through eLife. All that is needed is to reply on this article with an answer to the following question:
eg. Mine are Q4/Q4/Q4/Q4
Rules
- Reward for this week: Food (5000 Health Points worth)
- Only citizens with eDutch citizenship are eligible
- Only an answer on the question will get you goods
- Week determined by in-game weeks (week starts/ends at Tuesday)
- Rewarded goods are - when possible - bought on the eNL Market
Advice of the Week
With food it doesn't matter what Quality you buy; the best purchase is done by dividing the price by energy restore / use (eg. 2 per Q1 food, or 4 per Q2 food, etc.) and picking the cheapest option.

Mine are Q4/Q4/Q4/Q4. But of course you need to have them fully upgraded once you reach level 201. Otherwise you're throwing away gold...
For those below level 201: make sure you upgrade them (during a discount) to at least Q4/Q4/Q1/Q1, so that you can make the maximum daily profit using only the first two training grounds.

IMO, I'd advise everyone to upgrade their Training Grounds fully regardless of level. It takes a large investment but with Training Contracts you don't lose that much (and possibly make it up with earnings like medals/salary) and it will ensure you don't run behind the old 200k+ strength players any more than you currently are. Also useful if you're worried about XP/strength as you get more strength for your XP that way.
So I wouldn't say strength is throwing away gold, unless you only look at it from the direct financial perspective.
This is definitely true for the older players, but the advice to new players is to focus on air battles. As players with high strength also take many D1 Battle Hero medals, strength will always be a disadvantage for the newer players.
However, even if you focus purely on air battles, the first 2 training grounds are important as they are profitable (the second only when at Q4), and also without contracts.
The combination of all 4 costs only slightly more than you earn, but only in combination with a 90% training contract and daily activity. I used it, because air battles were not yet a thing back then, and I'm most definitely an old player, so my strength is somewhat competitive. And the strength was definitely worth the small price tag.
So I can recommend the 3rd and 4th training ground only to people who want to fight mainly in non-air battles. This might also include newer players, and in that case the strength will definitely be worth it to them.
In all cases the recommended upgrade path is to first fully upgrade the first training ground, and use it daily (as it is free). Then upgrade the second training ground, and only use it if it is at least Q3 (at which point it will still cost slightly more than the medals from strength are worth). When it is at Q4, definitely use it, as it is profitable. Next, the recommendation is to save a lot of gold, enough to upgrade the third and the fourth training ground in one go. And then only start to use these last two if you have a 90% training ground contract.
During this saving stage, players can decide if they want to go for the strength and normal battles, or if they prefer to spend their gold on (food) companies, and focus on air battles.

You're new so no wonder they're still Q1. Keep saving up and watch out for the occasional Discounts on Training Grounds that pop up every now and then. Then it's time to strike (as Djirtsdew above me suggested - First upgrade Q1 - Q2)
Thank you for the support!
Also check my article, https://www.erepublik.com/en/article/2671632/1/20 , especially the diagram and the table. I should release an updated version soon, as the wages have gone up significantly, making it much easier to gather the gold by working.
Save up your gold, and convert your NLG to gold using the monetary market. When a training ground discount comes along, upgrade the free training ground fully: this basically earns you an extra 0.3 gold/day by training. And if you have gold left over, upgrade the second training ground during a discount.
An update would be nice.. things have changed a lot obviously as you point out, but most importantly in the regard that perhaps we should support (new-ish) people in fighting in the Air. The little help we provide to players is still very traditionally focused on land warfare and strength. Of course, maybe it's a bit too much to ask for you to radically change that haha 😛

I think I even did that with a training ground subsidy, back when they were still handed out. Pretty cool when I think about it.

Used to be really upset when they added the 4th upgrade, because I had to spend more gold to max them all 😃

The first and second one are kind of self-sufficient. Eventually, fully upgraded, you will make a profit in gold on those. And considering you have a relatively high amount of strength it doesn't hurt to have them all upgraded if you have gold gathering dust to keep up with the other players in eRepublik 😃
yeah i know but i don't know why i don't upgrade them
