eBelgian economy under the loop!
Kanselier
Dear Readers,
Economy News
Our current tax system:
Is it really benefiting eBelgium?
The forum is pritty much dead, i've noticed other nations forums whit more activity, some sociale fun + intresting governemental decissions etc... .
VAT Taxes
So i decided to take a look at the eBelgian situation starting whit the taxes.
eBelgium decided to put the taxes for food market selling on 15%.
For me thats the form off punishement chasing players to other countries whit better fiscal regimes so people can better make a profit, which is better for themselfs in the long run.
We have a very small eCommunity and a very small eMarket.
Players who start out in eBelgium don't have the money ingame (if they dont spend) to buy other licenses directly as a potential get away. Meaning most division 1-2 players maybe even 3 have problems on the eBelgian market selling there goods.
Suppose they do find people intrested in supporting our nations economy they get punished by paying 15% VAT taxes.
Hereby i want to testify against this and i would propose to lower it incase i get in congress.
Not only do we have a fierce competion off big cheap markets nearby eBelgium which makes buying products in other regions more attractive but besides that suppose you're able to sell your stuff you get punished again.
This is not what i call stimulating our local economy!
Import Taxes
Bearing in mind our small market and big competion nearby (moving tickets aint expensive if you plan it strategically).
Logically thinking: Not many foreigners would buy the eBelgium license question that we need to ask ourself for our own citizens is do we need them?
Personnally i think not, we already have a hard time selling on our own market due to the previous section, and foreigners selling at lower prices doesn't help our own players who sell domestically either.
Thats why i am fan off raising the Import Taxes on most things. Especially on the produced goods like food and weapons.
What about the money lost?
Face it, the economic module is mainly based on MU's and high rollers supporting them. Which redivert weaponry and food where needed to its members.
What is the state doing?
Yes there is a loan program which gives players the ability to loan gold/BEF incase they need it.
But besides that?
Focus needs to be more on MU's supporting there ACTIVE players, instead off general programs.
I am not saying we should get rid off the loan program cause its a good thing for both the involved players and the state. But i am wondering if the goverment really needs to tax the previous things so differently than what i am saying.
Our "neutrality" or pro-alliance statuere causes eBelgium to be a pritty stable country.
There's no need for the goverment to have a "large" reserve to fund MU's.
The MU's can fund them selfs by donations.
Most MU's are "private".
"high" lvl players generally have the best economy, most money and can fund the wellbeeing off there MU and its actions.
Anyway i hope to have a more indepth discussion about this.
Yours sincerly
Kanselier CEO off FreedomPress.

Well if everyone is just looking and then walks away, then yes it will be a dead forum.
Maybe if you stay and talk or just pick out any random topic(old or new) and post something.
So to get activity, do something in there.
Just looking and see what happens never works.
To get activity you have to participate.
A single line in a post could be enough to get the ball rolling. MPP's are also paid by what income the state has.
And i believe there is only 1 MPP that we can pay with it.
The other MPP's are privately funded.
I can't really speak anymore about this as i just don't know enough about these matters.
ps: this topic has been discussed on the forum on many time.
All you have to do is look them up.
I fear you just get into a circle off a bad economical stature just to fund mpp's.
It aint stimulating our players instead it causes a brain drain.
Besidens why not reopen the discussion, i came up whit the idea after i've seen what eUK was doing, they are losing regions to a size compared to ours. Yes they have more players, but there are many smaller nations who have a similar system then as what i suggest.
Can't be concidence can it. I think not
I don't mind trying that again(man, that was a very unpleasant month).
lets just ignore that for a moment and follow the rest of you suggestion.
To what do you which to spend that income?
_ citizen packs
- BYS(Boost Your Strength) program
- prizes for games.
- activity-rewards like receiving something for meaningful comments in gov-articles or reward people for writing good stuff in the forum.
- ...etc
I don't know what else at this moment.
Or do we save a little more to spend on a later time on something big?
Just some thoughts. 🙂
Exactly as you are saying.
Thing that bothers me is our economical module which i see as a form off punishment module (as you can see in the article).
There are several solutions including mine but also including your suggestion.
But i believe a debate is needed which way we go to.
Atm we have neither. It only makes it more attractive to move countries or even quit...
I hope other people(like the MoF) would speak about this as wel.
I said all i can say at this moment(need more input). 😃
I agree with Kanselier on the main idea (lowering import taxes is useless and should not be).
It's something I've sayed few times (when I was active): eBelgium is aiming toward a liberal system. More and more privatization and once privatization is "on": it's hard to go back. I'am also in favor of a nonprofit government. And that such government only works with mpp and a back-up stock in case of war.
Programs and such will and are naturally privatized (privatization when it starts ... It just takes everything and u better follow it or soon die poor).
In favor of tax: 1%.
And an overall more liberal market.
But due to the "production bonus system" I would not open our financial barriers. in such way, producers would be able to sell in eBE. Price competition would come from financial arbitrage.
Well thats what i ment, i want to see import tax higher (some nations comparable to ours do even 99😵 just to protect our own market.
Offcourse i understand the funding idea for mpp's as in earlier comments.
But can't this be subsidised by a group off high rollers sort off speak whit q7 weapons, they make a bunch off profit others barely can make. All in the intrest off our nation
Taxes don't cover mpp. end of the story 🙂.
eBelgium stocks money through tournaments and that's fine...
Q7 production is only profitable if you have 'slaves'. Otherwise the WRM and wages are killing any profit. 'Slaves' can be organised through an MU, but then you go into the direction of communes and donations and you have even less taxes (as nothing is being traded anymore)
You're thinking in a good direction.
Too bad that eRep economy module is completely dead and useless.
Hopefully something will change soon enough.
Yeah i may be new, but i am pritty active and i did some investigation and yes economic module sucks, apparantly it used to be better... wonder whu they threw it overboard
It was significantly reducing Admins income in euros.
So they decided to threw it away. 🙂
They had a bot buying goods at a minimum price. The bot was depleting the market of goods, and pumping CC into the market, resulting in high activity, minimum prices for goods, and lots of producers making money, investing in even more production. End result was an overproduction multiple times the size of the overproduction before the bot. So they killed the bot. Prices dropped. Economy collapsed.
Off course that was after they killed the two previous versions of economy years ago... alledgedly a lot better than today, but for that you need someone older to comment...
Hmm sounds like they messed up along the way and now we went from 1 crappy situation to another whit only 1 winner the admins (short term) long term it means a drain on playerbase i fear which will affect the admins.
Every time we have this discussion we lower some kind of tax. Each time we have less income. Our current income is 13K per month. It doesn't need to be much lower if you want to be able to do anything.
eBe always had a strong community, with support for low level players. Over the past year I've seen every program shut down, activity has fallen, and our income with it.
The only real solution is to boost the active player base, and some corrective measures from admins if they get of their lazy butts.
Well you got any suggestions how to do that? eArgentina could do it, why not we....
what if you make the important taxes a bit more expensive then? it could cover a small amount off revenue, which could be used to put less pressure on VAT
Good article, I'm a dummy for economy.. but you have my vote 😃
v
I must say that I am not opposed to lowering VAT and raising import taxes to protect our economy. It's an idea I have had before, and I'm glad you're coming with it too!
That's why I want to join congress!
V&S!
Nowadays the economy is bad, it has become a purely military game.
We already did some tests regarding lowering and raising VAT, i don't remember the results but if you look on the forum you might stumble upon the topic.
VAT only affects individuals selling on our market, MU's will more likely donate guns and food
Like many older players I can tell you that the economy used to thrive with the bot, but before that it was even better, when you couldn't only produce weapons and food. Nowadays the game seems so simplified 🙁
I have to agree with that, I come from the generation right after the organizations were cancelled, and I have to admit that I did not really like that as I loved the idea. Ever since the game has been more simplified everyday to an extent that it has become perhaps, not exciting and challenging enough, it has become something like a greenhouse for two-clickers. Even I have become one. I started this game full of enthousiasm, but now checking this game has become a daily routine... :/
why isnt there a form off eInternational protest towards the devs on the forum then?
Good article Kanselier! 🙂
