Dear citizens of the eNetherlands,
What a week it has been for the newest political party on the eDutch scene. First of all a moribund party, handed over by the old management to me, has been brought back alive. But most importantly, we have grown from a meager 2 members to a staggering 20 in just a few days. This means we will participate in Congress elections. I want to thank my members for showing interest in a new opposition party and for putting their trust in me, in our latest - and first ever - elections.
Despite that we at Libertas are the newest party on the eDutch political scene, we feel that every party has the responsibility to publish their party program, so that all of you may judge us on what we stand for, what we believe in, and so that we may earn your support based upon this. And not (how it sadly has been recently) because there is no other active party in the eNetherlands to vote for. For these reasons, and many more, we believe that Libertas is needed in our eCountry and we proudly present to you, our fellow eCountrymen, our party program for 2012.
We want to stress that this program only describes our most important ideals and values, to give starters in the political area a chance to have a view regarding our position in eDutch politics, before actually joining us. Each congressional and presidential elections will require a more specific manifest, which we want to work towards with our political sympathizers.
Introduction
Libertas may still be small, but already it encompasses many individuals of experience. Being led by me: Party President NoTie112, former multiple-term Country President and Minister of both Home and Foreign Affairs, and supported by former Secretary of Defence Xyrrath and former presidential candidate 2DG we feel we have much to offer the eNetherlands.
Libertas stands for Efficiency.
Bureaucracy serves a purpose, no minister, ministry, or even Country President should be without it. It gives the people they are serving insight in their comings and goings, and allows future governments to make well-informed decisions. That being sai
😛Bureaucracy that does not serve this purpose should be gotten rid of. It takes up the valuable time of government members and, when publications come at the rate they are coming now, leads to disinterest. The government should only publicize when it has something to tell, and otherwise focus on performing the tasks they were appointed for.
Libertas stands for Internationalism
An internationally-orientated approach is vital for the further growth of our eCountry, therefor Libertas will fight for the rights of those of foreign nationality that come to our country with no ill intent, and welcome them with open arms. We want to bring the eNetherlands out of its isolation both by actively informing our population regarding international affairs, and pushing a more active international government policy.
Libertas stands for Individual Responsibility for New Players.
Of course the Ministry of Coaching serves a vital purpose, and should never be neglected. But taking our newest players by the hand and guiding them for months should not be a main focus of any government, tasks like this can be taken care of by individual players, political parties, and Military Units, supported by the government with tutorials, the eNL Military Units, and a few select subsidies. New players are better served with subsidies that encourage them to join our community, participate, and find their own goals in eRepublik, then with subsidies that serve as a government sponsored mission where they perform a series of tasks for a set reward. Helping our new eCountrymen through their first steps in eRepublik is always a good thing, but subsidies and government-time that go beyond serving these purposes should be delegated to others.
Libertas stands for a Free eNetherlands.
The people of the eNetherlands should never become complacent with our current situation regarding the Polish menace. Libertas will never accept the status quo. Our eCountry is made up out of four regions, and we should take every opportunity to re-establish this. Whenever our international or financial situation makes it realistically impossible to accomplish our freedom we should be striving to change our position so that one day we will be truly free again. It might take time, it might take effort, but never should we forget this goal! This goal will be strived for at any given time, regardless of the circumstances. The country which occupies us might change, but our urge for freedom will not.

I'm glad to see the publication of a party program. I do have some criticisms, though.
You seem to equate bureaucracy to transparency and the availability of public information on government activity, but that is a false equation. I'm really curious about your definition of bureaucracy, as it seems a rather fluent concept in this and your previous party's programs.
And what do you mean with this sentence? It's rather vague: "That being sai😛 Bureaucracy that does not serve this purpose should be gotten rid of. It takes up the valuable time of government members and, when publications come at the rate they are coming now, leads to disinterest."
What are your concrete plans for 'a more active international government policy'?
Examples of eRepublik Bureaucracy:

''What are your concrete plans for 'a more active international government policy'?''
-Having an experienced MoFA with international contacts would already be a far better policy than we currently have.
''And what do you mean with this sentence?''
-Being minister should not necessarily mean you get a job as editor once a week. Information should only be given out when it's useful, otherwise it will work averse.
The last link doesn't work. Anyway, I see that you have found some examples of what you hold to be bureaucratic initiatives, but what is your definition of bureaucracy?
"Being minister should not necessarily mean you get a job as editor once a week. Information should only be given out when it's useful, otherwise it will work averse."
And what if it's useful to publish several articles a week? And who is to say what is useful? I haven't seen any useless articles lately.
As with every term in eRepublik, it (should) differ(s) from what it exactly means in real life, i.e applicable to eRepublik game mechanics. Bureaucracy in eRepublik are tasks which can be delegated or completely removed without too much difficulties. (e.g: collectivism-coaching, newspapers subsidies, extra institutions like Councillers/Senators, independent SCI.)
''And what if it's useful to publish several articles a week...''
Read the stress I put on necessarily; of course it's possible that there are useful articles more than once a week, but that is no certainty whatsoever. The government is able enough to decide what can be public and be interesting enough to read, otherwise they're not fit too rule.
And yes, I'm glad to see that the government has seen the light regarding the amount of publishing articles, although hypocritical, I'm glad.
All parties stand for a Free Netherlands. Can you please explain how you want to change our international and financial situation so that we can achieve this. Because that is the part where your program might distinguish itself from the other programs.
And I don't really understand your criticism on the subsidies. If I read it correctly, you want to keep the Forum Registration Bonus, but are against the other subsidies, as they do not involve our community. Is this correct?
Some other examples of 'bureaucracy' in your definition: publishing a party program, setting up an international affairs awareness campaign for all citizens, leading a political party, reacting to pesty comments about a new party's program. 😁
We prefer community bonuses like the Forum Registration Bonus above other subsidies.
All parties should indeed stand for a Free eNetherlands, it can't be stressed enough. You ask me for precious international and financial policy details, while this isn't a governmental platform, whom are to dictate those. We however put our main ideals in this article, which we want to put in practice when we (together with other parties) participate in Congress and Government.
@Broersje: Difference is that party-related bureaucratic issues are private issues and are not relevant in this discussion. If I wanted, I could have written a party program as long as that from a real life party, while still practicing the anti-bureaucracy mantra.
Also, regarding an international affairs awareness campaign; You make it far bigger than I want to realize; You must however agree with me that the current Ministry of Foreign Affairs could use one.
I agree that information about foreign affairs has been lacking; as it almost always has.
"You ask me for precious international and financial policy details, while this isn't a governmental platform, whom are to dictate those. We however put our main ideals in this article, which we want to put in practice when we (together with other parties) participate in Congress and Government."
=
We don't have international and financial policy details?
I didn't say we didn't have any. It doesn't make sense to make up a whole international/financial policy in this very article, as this program isn't mean to be derived from for governmental policy; It's 'just' an outline of our party views, while Congress/Presidential programs indeed require more detailed plans.
But to answer you question: We are pleased with Weekstroms current work on financial policy, while for international affairs the only pragmatic solution is retaining our contacts.
So, a point where internation affairs and economic considerations clash is in determining the amount of MPPs we will have. Financially, less is cheaper, while more MPPs can help in the long run by befriending nations (and will definitely be required at the time we liberate ourselves).
So what does your party think about this?
MPP's are paramount to the survival of our nation! I support signing as many as possible, but leaving out the less influential ones (Cyprus/Malta e.g)
Well its finally nice to see you answering questions and providing something solid instead of just writing articles about how GPN has failed. Nice change.
To be fair, he wrote articles about how everyone had failed, and he was already doing that when I started playing this game 😛.
No doubt now that he's part of the problem instead of just part of the complaining class someone will come along to take his place. 😁
quote: "And not (how it sadly has been recently) because there is no other active party in the eNetherlands to vote for."
That is true, but you (eNL citizen that is reading this) can change it! Join the DSP so we can compete the other parties in the Congress elections!
The only thing I find remotely impressive is his way with words.. he knows how to fool people. I've sat back and read much of what he's posted and a lot of people are easily swayed. But there's a few that aren't. I hope this guy doesn't get political trust back so easily.
@ X Deadpool: I hope so too but I'm not optimistic.
I still would like to know how you want to financially support your plans;
You say you want to sign many MPP's, we only have budget for 4 MPP's currently if we don't spend money on anything else;
Also I'm curious how you want to free eNetherlands, because all parties want to free eNL
So NoTie, since there's almost no money or gold in the eNL bank, what are you planning to steal this time?
I pity the poor sheeps being lured in by this wolve
X DealPool & Struis Vogel, you both can't speak neutrally regarding the accusations you both make, as you two weren't even existing during the times of the national theft, and have only heard stories by others.
People are obviously not up to date. All accusations have been cleared of my name, as I've been officially removed from the blacklist. This means I can participate in all official positions once again. I wouldn't advise to oust one of the last remaining active players in the eNL.
lol at stupid reasoning. That deadpool and struisvogel weren't alive yet during the national theft makes them more neutral, rather than less neutral as you claim.
You were removed of the blacklist, but the gold is still gone, stolen under your supervision, and
and seeing it's still a mystery where the gold went, (and you still haven't provided all info IMO) you are still being regarded as highly suspiscious, and if it isn't that... at least very very unresponsible for late reply to congress
Don't worry Notie. I'm well up to date.
You are not one of the ''last remaining active players'' in the Netherlands.
@X Deadpool, then stop demonizing me.
@DP, Profound comment. All suspectations towards have been removed, as that was the sole reason for me being blacklisted.
@Joshua, I am one of the few active and experienced players left in the eNetherlands.
People, I publish in name of my party, not myself. Find actual reasons to reply, instead of putting a party, who honestly wants to participate, on a wall of shame. Be glad there is activity and that people are coming back to serve eNL.
I think your article is good, I just disagree with your claim that you are one of the few experienced active people left. There are others thats all.
I see. I have to admit it can be interpretated as an arrogant statement. I just wanted to put straight forward that we can really use everyone in the eNetherlands at the moment. I'm glad to see old players are coming back and new citizens are joining (the born rate has been increasing the last few days), which results in more activity; just see the increased opposition (which doesn't include only me/Libertas)
sorry tonie, the reason you where blacklisted was that you didn't provide any information to the congress. Who did the robbery is still a mystery. You are still one very high on peoples minds and lists when you ask them who they suspect did the robbery, and your name still isn't cleared with them, which I find quite reasonable seeing how this all passed for many months and we are hardly an inch further in solving this crime which was done while you held the highest office.
Let's talk about your party's program instead of you:
I still would like to know how you want to financially support your plans;
You say you want to sign many MPP's, we only have budget for 4 MPP's currently if we don't spend money on anything else;
Also I'm curious how you want to free eNetherlands, because all parties want to free eNL, so wanting to free eNL doesn't distinguish your party from other parties
RikW:
I support the financial policy by TDP/Weekstrom, but that doesn't mean we should cling onto it as if it were a holy book. We need to look at the actual reasons for the financial problems: That is the fact that we have a small population (Government: USE that Ministry of Recruitment) and we are occupied by Poland.
In the meantime, we should indeed be very cautious with out money, but we should not hide ourselves behind that deficit to remain passive.
That's not the main reason for our problem NoTie, as presented earlier. Of course 10x this population would generate a bit more tax, but cost us more as well. Being realistic you know we will never reach that due to less RL players, way different motivation to play and our lack of standard bonuses. I'd love to have us tripled by the way but even more with active players.
As for the occupation; It costs us 20% wep (raw) bonus plus 20 congress seats. That's not really making a difference.
As for our population; we're not that different from other countries and we’re not doing it that bad; http://tinyurl.com/9yfffwu. But still; If you have the means to bring in fresh new players; Do so by all means and don’t let it depend on party politics but do it for eNL.
