[ Congress discussion ] - Minimum wage
Mochan Drust
So I was on eCan forum and I found this:
Opportunity to Increase Revenues Through Income Taxation
Before you read I'd like to say that I agree with him and that things he mentions in the link above have a good point.
I'd like to move that discussion here, ingame, and to formaly propose that we discuss this and vote.
If this proposal pass I will officially propose it ingame.

re minimum wage increase: it seems absurd.
follow the cash flows. Now the MU is funding the government? Worse, the MU funds the government and so does each commune worker. The net effect is adverse to low level players.
You've gone from "how the government funds MUs" to "how MUs fund the government" with breathtaking speed.
This way MUs won't lose their funding and gouvernment will without raising taxes get a lot of money.
you have linked to a forum discussion started by Addy Lawrence. Your article says you agree with him. HE says increase income tax. Raising the income tax, he says, is necessary to get the benefit of increased minimum wage. He also says the government will NOT get a lot of money. It will get a small little bit more. The MUs however will all pay a lot MORE in wages (probably 1000% more). And of course the low level player will get less in supplies. The net effect is likely harmful.
Communes are pointless, just pay the worker a fair wage and he can buy his weapons on the market
We wonder why we're broke when we support a system that is designed to circumvent all forms of taxation...
And then what happens with all that cash generated through income tax and VAT tax once we stop paying our MUs? Will it go into Merc/Tank pockets instead?
Or maybe get rid of all taxes and just collect the bare minimum for MPPs...perhaps that would be the second best option.
Messing with minimum wage is not the answer.
This will accomplish nothing.
Always keep looking on the market for the highest wage.
There seems to be no limits as to who gets what.
Changing the minimum wage is not really a solution to these problems, especially to follow what I believe Addy says by increasing both the minimum wage and income tax. How would this solve a problem? Government revenue would be increased slightly, at the expense of increasing commodity prices?
Taxes are silly in general...
