New deafult prices. Time to quit?
Kevin Bartholomew
We have new default prices. Raw Material costs 0.22. If you invest in one Saltpeter or Cattle it will take over 3 months to earn the 8500 currency you invested, even with 100% bonus. I call that nothing more than ridiculous.
Here is graph.
This is my first attempt to make graph so don't rage.
The graph used to look like this, when we had the classic 0.33 price.
It means that you need 77 Saltpeter in order to earn enough to train with all boosters in a 100% bonus country. The average in the world will need 102 Saltpeter. Plato will continue to decrease the default price and the number of needed saltpeters will increase.
The average player will have a hard time to train with all boosters. The big tanks will continue their quest for glory. No, is boycotting the Military Module an opinion? The market would crash. The world would crash. Is it what it takes to change the game?
The pictures was only added to make the article somehow interesting. 😉

IS THIS I GRAPH? HELL NO I'M RAGING!
I refuse to sell at those prices. I make enough to produce what I need, stick to training at 0.19G, and gather gold via Merc Medal, SS, and hard work until we get a real economy again.
I was drawn to eRep for the challenging economy -- not this joke that caters for the lowest common denominator. I miss the days when you could be a great soldier OR a businessman OR a politician.
Yea this is really ridiculous. A reduced default price will change nothing for the good. The world will still continue to overproduce products and the bot will still have to keep buying to prevent a complete crash. So I don't see the reason for this drop in the default price other than fcking with the RM company owners.
Pluto is not gaining enough moneyz

Hear, hear.
Now bring me back the economy skill that was stolen from me, so that I may die in peace.
thanks for the analysis mate.. In the words of Pvt. Frazer: we're doomed !
We are doomed mate. >:V

Solution to problem:
Stop focusing only on RM..
Voted.
Bot ain't even buying.
It buys WRM, but it takes forever
I am still selling on 0.26 🙂
@ alfons - Are you selling in a place where you pay import tax?
I am not selling at .22. The bot is buying at .21
Because of inflation in gold, the price for saltpeter became out of wack with the other prices that are in gold (Q4 RM are cheaper than Q3 RM)
The gold inflation is because people make a lot of money every day from RM and they need to change it to gold to train.
Plato is trying to find a way to lower the price of gold. If it works it won't matter as much. Yes RM has dropped 33%, but if we can get a drop of 33% in gold then the buying power for the average player is the same.
Solution... buy gold!
It will be a cold day in hell before I pay real money to this game
It will be a cold day in hell before I pay real money to this game x2
Thanks. That's really helpful, and indeed true.
The bot is because of over-production.- somehow admins see this as a solution.
The only viable solution to fix over-production is to eliminate (or at least drastically curtail) manager work.
i like strawberries
They simply fucked the game...
I can't add much to what's already been said - valid points one and all.
The issue for civilian governments for months, particularly eAustralia and eNew Zealand, given their small populations in comparison to mega nations like eUSA and eBrazil, they've struggled to compensate through RP legislation or policy what the game admins have taken away through implementations that are frankly bizarre and hurting the smaller countries. It's not Socialism to care - it has just been necessary in order to compete with so many restrictions. It's not the responsibility of the New World nations to have to do this. It would be tantamount to the World Banc or the UN passing resolutions and expecting member nations to do or die. Madness - eRep admins need to cut the red tape.
eRepublik is supposed to be an RL business investment to make money, is it not? What happens when the cash cows take a leap out of the game due to these ridiculous rules? That's a path to insolvency, but the admins are free to lol as they will. Their creditors will have the last laugh.
I am selling raw material for 0.08 cents. I don't see anything about a 0.22 default price?
