The Ashes of Defeat Fall all around us...[part one]
Cody Caine
Defeat is always tough, possibly more so when you come so close to victory, a few days ago on the 25th I lost the Maine congressional election 15-14. There are many things that transpired on election day that concern me much more then my defeat, my defeat will merely be the beginning not the end of my political battle on erepublik.
I’m going to start with the process of who gets on the ballot, I feel that if this was arranged sooner, people like Pizza the Hut wouldn’t be able to make the ballot, and such situations that transpired with so many people needing to go stop him in one state, thus hurting votes elsewhere wouldn’t transpire. It is a matter of Organization issue, that should be corrected in future elections, since it is unlikely the admins would make it so party presidents can chose not to run anyone in a state.
Another thing that bothered me on a more personal level is, for several hours I sat in the workers party, talking about issues of votes and my own status of need, when frankly I believe they were misleadingly dishonest by withholding the information that they had no intent of helping me, a lie of omission, when the honorable thing would have just been to state, “we cannot get you votes” or another possible truth “we want the Romanian running under our party flag to win”. I feel my time was wasted in that IRC room.
I also am concerned about the peoples will to know who they are voting for, that some whose main loyalty is still to the Romanian military won the election, and is now in our congress is concerning, and even if this person isn’t up to a shady goal, it is still a concern that some look at achievements and level over history in the eUSA, and also over look paper history and military unit, in favor of the party they run under. I feel the people and parties should know who they endorse and who they are voting for.
And Finally I must blame my own disorganization on voting day, two votes was all I needed to win in the end, votes I could have had, if I better prepared my own party, for at least two voters of my party were not on to vote, on election day, so had I been better organized I might have won.
These are the Ashes of defeat, and they are falling all around me…

Losing is always tough, but learning where mistakes or errors were made, and understanding how to remedy these are great gains.
this is the first article in a series of at least 2 articles.

I think you will get into congress next month. Just my opinion, but out of all the people on this game you are one of the most devoted to your cause. That is the type of person I want representing me in congress, not some Romanian D-Bag.
Keep up the good fight.
Voted.
Your first mistake was looking to the USWP for help. They have historically looked to gain as many seats in Congress as they possibly can. And considering the USWP and AMP are completly focused on outdoing each other, I wouldn't look to them or AMP in the future.
However, Our parties should work closer in the future.
I intend to learn from all mistakes of august, and rise above them, which is a prelude to part two of this series.
also thanks for your comment SMF.
I was pulling for ya.
You will learn more from this loss than you would have from being given the win.
I want to see you in Congress.
Jamarcus, I personally sent votes to members of every party that isn't named AMP. USWP spreads the love around. Cody's mistake was thinking we'd take votes to directly combat someone running under USWP who isn't a threat to the country, and who we have no reason to distrust.
that does not even at all, take away from the fact that the USWP's leadership, knowing full well that they weren't going to help, couldn't be bothered to speak up like MATURE People, and say something to me, this is one of those moments that I realize why I hate liars.
Even though I'm a member of the USWP, I honestly don't think about my party that often anymore. Instead, I think about what I can do for the nation instead. If I were to do nothing but fight about what parties do this and that, I would waste time we could be using to help the American recovery effort. Though the parties might do things we don't like, I stay my ass out of it because I want no part in the partisan bickering that I see in RL each day on CNN.
USWP is a waste of space. it needs to go. stop dragging it on.
well Port, I did not write this article to start a political party war, I wrote it to express my thoughts, and to express my feelings about my defeat, and the use of the picture is a boost to how devastating any defeat is to me, I held a funeral for the political month of august.

Try another party. Personally, I find the AMP isnt all about "outdoing" the USWP as Jamarcus claims. They ran me as a first time congressman. They've always been nothing but honest to me.
I plan to be better organized for next months run, make sure all members of my party know when and where to vote, and have the money to move over [if they are not pursuing there own goals], better organize others who might agree to vote for me, through perhaps a sign up sheet, do what I can do while also doing college class work, some point in the next day or so, part two will be published, tuesday at 6pm eastern, doing the third radio show, so all that is the plan of action, more to come probably.
no one "needed" to stop me db.
You NEED water.
You don't NEED to be a db.
right you come to my article and throw around cheap insults, when if you actually read the article it IS NOT ABOUT YOU, YOU EGOTISTICAL LITTLE PERSON, NOW KINDLY GO AWAY!
